  1. The Bahamas are also adding tax on the private islands. Look for cruise lines to pass that on, too.
  2. They can and it's in the contract. “Cruise Fare” or “CruiseTour Fare” includes the amount due for the Cruise or CruiseTour, whether such amounts are owing and/or have been paid by the Passenger, but does not include amounts due for other products or services such as air transportation, photographs, gratuities, telephone calls, or medical services which can be purchased separately, nor does it include government or quasi-governmental taxes and fees, whether assessed on a per passenger, per vessel, per berth or per ton basis, nor any fuel surcharges, security surcharges or similar assessments made by airlines, trains, buses, hotels or other third parties which are subject to change and are due and payable by Passenger upon request. For CruiseTours that include air travel, airfare is included in the CruiseTour Fare. e. “CruiseTour” means the combined vacation package officially published and offered by
  3. Perhaps. No where does it say the victims booked the excursion through Carnival, but it seems to imply it. Based on CC reports, lots of people go on their own. Viator even sells a tour. The victims seem to were a number of outfits in the pictures - how many times did they change during that day. No doubt there could be some shenanigans. Paul Harvey might be able to sort it out
  4. So much speculation, bias, and hearsay, so few facts.
  5. I have not seen or experienced. In the vicinity of the Lido pool. I'm thinking like the seafood shack. It seems Carnival is updating the deck plan on goccl. That should clear some things up when finished
  6. Prices:the prices were from around $25- $50 depending on the cut of meat. (allegedly) There is no steakhouse on Elation.
  7. Radu used to work for Carnival, but I guess they are going to profit as much as possible off of his photographs. Carnival does own the rights to anything to took in their employment.
  8. That wasn't my experience. I wasn't going to repeat the mistake. How do they know how much tax to charge if it is only for a bottle? You aren't paying per bottle, you are paying per package.
  9. Misery loves company. Why have two victims when you can add Carnival? It's like blaming Carnival for the weather.
  10. Exactly. Why hold other countries to a higher standard or expect them to be safer, while ignoring the problems at home.
  11. This kind of thing never happens in a civilized place like Las Vegas, except every day of the year.

  16. Never been to Myrtle Beach and it's been more than 30 years since I last went to Atlantic City. But I'm pretty sure those places do change. No doubt RCL pushes the ship as the destination. Just one of a number of reasons I don't anticipate them getting any more of my dollars. And I have zero interest in cruising on Jubilee. I tried Mardi Gras and Celebration and that was enough.
  17. I think cruise ships are close to being maxed out in size. Even though they can be built bigger, it is still just one ship. At what point will diversity overtake economies of scale? I think I saw something today about Royal cancelling a few cruises next year. Those just become more and more costly And what impact would a disaster on one of a Monstrosity of the Sea have in bookings.
  18. Or is it just a passing fad? I would expect some ports to restrict, if not ban, mega ships. Too many ports don't have the infrastructure to support zillions of passengers being disgorged daily.
  19. I had to dig this up to see if I ever came close to finishing. Been inspired by a few Antarctica reviews of late. Booked another one, but this time on Princess. Won't be too soon, tough.
