  1. I'm not on the cruise, but in the past that is how it worked. Not sure how they do things now.
  2. No difference. It is the same tour, same boat, same time.
  3. It's possible. Stanley is a port where EVERYBODY wants to be on the first tender to shore. Priority goes to those on ship tours and also Elite and above Captains Club members. If not on a ship tour, you have to get tender tickets. People line up well before the tickets begin to be handed out. You need to get up early.
  4. I think it was just issued yesterday. Looks like mostly gang on gang stuff.
  5. 1. The whales are always on the opposite side.
  6. Sounds like it is booked under a casino offer. Technically the person with the offer is required to sail.
  7. You still have a large window you can look out...
  8. Love cove balconies. Have stayed in many on a number of different Carnival ships. When they are sealed...
  9. I did put on the survey that my time and money would depend on how smokey the casino was. Then it turned out the smoke wasn't that bad. I never did get the follow up survey.
  10. Did it turn into long athlete's foot?
  11. Red Frog Pub had 1 Happy Hour in the middle of a 5 day cruise at Christmas. Caribbean cocktails and Caribbean beer (which I think was really Mexican) was 1/2 price. It wasn't everything.
  12. Yes. Royal is learning to downsize with their next generation of new builds.
  13. For a billion or so dollars, I would expect something that isn't monkey butt ugly.
  14. Until you drop dead? Carnival's XL ships are too big for me, much less Monstrosity of the Sea. No amount of bacon can bribe me for that.
  15. Never say never. A new Dr Seuss menu is coming !!!
  16. Me neither, but the travel agent I used was also on the cruise so I figured they would make things happen.
  17. You can also select Wave heights on windy.com. By now maybe you are in Drake's Shake (or maybe Lake). Looks like a beautiful day in Ushaia. Last time I was there, it was kind of miserable. There are some penguins on an island near Usuaia. We could see them from the cruise ship (with a zoom lens). Isla Martillo, if you can find on a map.
  18. I haven't been on Royal since Covid, but prior to covid, I wouldn't rank the food as much better. At least we can speak from experience. For perks/bribes, it is Royal for the win.
  19. One time I flew to Europe with TBA luggage tags. The porter had a manifest and filled out blank luggage tags with my assigned cabin.
  20. A good question for Carnival. Paradise looks like 1 bed that doesn't convert. U237 8B 185/35 = 220 sq ft Beds: two twin beds (convert to king) (EL) Beds: one king bed (bed does not convert to two twin beds) (PA) View: window and balcony Bathroom: shower-toilet-sink Features: Flat-screen TV, telephone, 110 AC current, individual climate control, safe, 3-closets, hair dryer, non-stocked mini bar unit, desk and ottoman seat Balcony Features: 2 patio chairs and coffee table / balcony partition opens to: U235 Note: Fully Accessible Cabin (FAC)
  21. Perhaps you didn't? In the past I have heard of the credit being applied to a cruise without being specifically applied for. I guess an agent could have been trying to save time and keystrokes?
  22. I've done British Isles cruises on both Carnival and Princess and they are both fine with a lot of the same ports. On one of the Carnival cruises, a North Sea storm forced a reversal of the itinerary and Carnival masterfully rescheduled everything without skipping a beat.
  23. I see lots of reports that RCL food is inferior. And in my experience, nothing wrong with Carnival staff.
