  1. How would you get into your cabin to get them? Or obtain a drink when boarding? Or if defective, passengers would have to waste the first day standing in line to obtain another.
  2. Right now, especially with what is happening in the world, the Caribbean is becoming hot again. It is cyclical. The pendulum will continue swinging. It is reported that Royal will build some smaller ships in the future. FIFY.

  4. My point was about ports. Most people may not enjoy dentists, but many still go. I think most people enjoy tender ports but may not love the tendering process.
  5. That's an opinion. Another opinion is most cruisers don't want to be held hostage by greedy cruise lines. Grand Cayman may or may not build a pier. That has been talked about for decades. It is one example, not an complete list.
  6. The line I edited was "Therefore you should ALWAYS tip per drink. " So much for your assumption and it changed nothing. Cheers covers drinks up to $20 I believe. 18% of $20 could be up to a $3.60 tip per drink.
  7. Those who purchase Cheers are paying a gratuity on the package, not on a drink. Obviously the more they drink, the less per drink the gratuity breaks down to. Ask any bartender how it works. Drinks on Us is a marketing gimmick to bribe gamblers. Tipping definitely influences service.
  8. You seem to contradict yourself. In any event, there is no flaw. Bar services and room service are optional and aren't included. But you do raise an interesting subject. Gamblers who get free drinks and those who purchase Cheers aren't charged a gratuity each beverage. Sure the waitstaff gets a small tip, but nothing close to 18%. Therefore you should ALWAYS tip per drink.
  9. I think Carnival does a far better job of distributing tips than customers do. Carnival knows things. If a customer wants to tip additional, great. Tipping a restaurants is based on the check amount and is in no way comparable to cruise line gratuities
  10. I think it is more load balancing trying to optimize revenue which is similar, but different. 🙂

  16. Carnival tends to hold onto ships for a longtime, so can't/shouldn't depreciation be adjusted to reflect? Are Carnival Corporation and Carnival Plc financial statements identical?
  17. The main question is do you go to the Falklands or not. Many people, including me, say it is worthwhile. It is said that even getting to tender into Stanley is a 50-50 proposition. +/-. YMMV. It has to do with the weather and nothing to do with which cruise line.

  20. Carnival paid 6 billion toward debt. Do you think they could have stretched that out so they could have shown a phony profit? Other cruise lines are also in debt. Perhaps they chose to post the illusion of a profit.
