  1. I would. I would never pay part of my cruise fare to a TA. Call me paranoid. I recall some years ago that some customers got shafted when a TA went out of business. i would also consider it unethical if the booking invoice did not make that distinction. IMO it is time for a new TA.
  2. On our November 7-17 Silhouette cruise they were turning people away at lunch time. I was shocked as it usually is not busy.
  3. On my upcoming cruise, they were requesting bids for an Owner’s suite and none of them are available for booking.
  4. Porch was open for lunch on Port days on the Silhouette this month.
  5. Did you perhaps have the same address as you?
  6. For us it is just the opposite. There was almost no shade on the Apex EV, which was a big negative for us. We could seldom use our balcony during the morning or day. It has absolutely no cover. You should like the Iconic suite (at least on the Apex), because it looked to be mostly uncovered and very large. Initially I thought the balcony was a public deck initially. Enjoy the Iconic suite.
  7. I have no idea why the shoreside concierge asked for the quantity of luggage or estimated arrival time. When I travel in on of the upper category suites, this seems like useless information. We just finished a B2B of 14 days total. We had breakfast in Luminae for 11 days. All days except the three that we enjoyed room service breakfast. By far breakfast our favorite meal in Luminae. Just an overall excellent breakfast experience. We had no lunches in Luminae. The Silhouette has the Porch and Lawn Grill, which is nice for an occasional lunch. We dined a lot in the Speciality Dining, since it was included with our cabin category. We dined four times in Murano’s. It is our favorite restaurant and we missed it on our last Apex cruise. Also twice in Tuscan. We did enjoy the Luminae for dinner. We enjoy it more on the S class, because we have the full MDR menu as an option. The lack of a full MDR menu on the Edge Class in a big negative for us. We find the Luminae options do not always match our likes. However service was always excellent. If we cruise on an Edge Class ship again, we will probably dine in one of the MDR occasionally depending on the menu. The Bistro was our favorite speciality restaurant on the Apex.
  8. The comment that “All cover charges are per person” is an clue.
  9. On the Silhouette and Reflection S class ships they serve a pretty good Flatbread pizza (more like a regular pizza). in the Lawn Grill. I woukd guess you could ask for it to be extra think. When the Lawn Grill was first introduced and before Covid, you could make your own pizza including the crust. They also have a salad bar. But this is a Speciality restaurant with an extra charge. iMO the regular pizza in the OV is OK, but not great. The salad bars are excellent.
  10. The recipe is different, but it is still good.
  11. Got to love the facial recognition for immigration! What a time saver.
  12. I do not have any open bids, but I will have to check it out. You are referencing Celebrity, correct?
  13. However they do provide the MDR “everyday items” in Luminae. This is the most disappointing aspect of our Apex cruise.
  14. The Happy hour is a good and it certainly is not promoted a lot. I look for the time posted on the Celebrity Today. The times and days varies and it onl last one hour, which I guess the reason they call it Happy Hour. Do you like the changes in Cellar Master to Craft Social. It certainly seems much busier. I miss the old cellar master with hardly anyone there, but I can understand why they changed it. if you are on board today, look for a guy in a bright yellowish golf shirt, stop and say hello. I would love to meet you in person. Jim
  15. I agree it is pretty issue and it is workable. My DW likes for her photos to transfer from her IPhone to her IPad automatically.
  16. I will check when I get that far. My cruise is January 17th. Thanks
  17. So if we have the Princess plus we get one sign in each. If we then buy the additional four device package, we will have a total of six allowable sign ins at a time? This will only cost $10 a day total (with our discount)? This has to be done prior to boarding? Great deal IMO. Thanks. Seems like a great deal
  18. I agree. Do you concur with Orator’s recent observation that most Zenith’s cruise in suites? On the subject of a new classification, the benefits of the the Elite plus are only significant to those on a cruise only rate. IMO. Although there is some value. Not enough to take a cruise that is not your first choice. Even those at the Zenith level complain frequently that they receive many of the benefits in their standard booking, diluting the real difference between Zenith and other CC levels. I am not saying I agree at the Zenith level, but I am not there. It is good that Celebrity offers Cruise Only rates, but I do not think that is Celebrity’s target market. It has been many years (back to the 1,2,3 days) since I have not had all the perks on my booking. A new level might just create more people to complain.
  19. That is the new revised menu that is currently being used on the Silhouette. They are not serving other drinks, just the ones from the menu. They have been busy every night.
  20. Several years ago, Celebrity modified their process annd increased the delta between NRD and fully refundable. There can be some exceptions, but with my cruises the difference has always been significant. I always book NRD. I believe that a lot of people do not fully understand the difference, thinking incorrectly that they are losing the total deposit. IMO this was done to reduce the “just in case” multiple bookings. OP, you are understanding correctly. I have only moved a cruise once and $100 a person was added to the fare of my new cruise. Perhaps if I would have pushed hard enough, I could have had it waved. I seldom cancel or change cruises.
  21. I always book my own although I use a TA.
  22. Thanks for the info as this stop is on our Emerald Princess cruise scheduled for January 17. Are they changing ports or just making it a sea day?
  23. Orator, I am glad you enjoyed your cruise. I have often wondering if most Zenith’s were booked in suites or at least Aqua Class. At least they were on your cruise. Do you think this is typical? Yes, the four day cruise was a giant party. There was one large wedding group on the cruise as well. I have never seen the Casino and bars so crowded on the last night. (My first four day cruise). They were having a good time and I am fortunate to be on a B2B. Even as a B2B, I doubt whether I will do another 4 day cruise. They had some major issues with immigration and customs at the end of your cruise. They only got to half of the crew though immigration, so they finished the rest yesterday. There were double staffed as no one could get off. I felt sorry for the crew, because Key West would have been a good port for them. Yesterday went much better.
  24. No, I can just review a summary. I did not realize you were looking for all the details prior to booking. Sorry for misleading you.
