  1. I'm a closet figure skating fan... The one on Navigator is very good too. I'm looking forward to Oasis next March.
  2. One of the things I love about following lives is the unique focus each live brings. Some will focus on drinks. Other's will focus on specialty restaurants. Some on the entertainment or Shore ex's or Suite life or whatever else.... All will have a little of everything but the personal focus is what makes each unique and special. You are right John is a pro but this has been a great one so far and I'm enjoying following. Greg's has been awesome as well.
  3. We did it on Odyssey and we might be one and done. It was an interesting experience and I don't regret going. I'm just not sure I'd be interested in a repeat performance. I might go back a second time if we had the UDP again but I'd never pay to go that one individually.
  4. Too me, the sign of a good steak is it's lack of need for any additions. A little sea salt is all I want to need to put on my steak. Your's looked good.
  5. I'll probably post a few updates here if no one minds. I still don't post much on the NCL board and didn't really want to do a "live" on that board. I certainly won't overwhelm the thread with the whole trip but a few highlights and a few contrast and compares, NCL vs Royal sort of thing.
  6. So many superstitions in sports. Years ago I had so many lucky "whatevers" that I was sure helped me win. Cleats, underwear, knee brace, pre-game meal... just about anything could become lucky if I noticed a new item, worn consistently, coincided with a win streak.
  7. Very excited. It's been an experience dealing with NCL. They do things differently than Royal and Pride of America has things that are different than the rest of the NCL fleet so there has been a bit of a learning curve.
  8. Park Cafe and Cafe Lattitudes will also have a couple of sugar free flavorings that will also help you keep you sugar down should you like to drink Latte's
  9. It is weird to quote yourself but I thought a little followup was in order. I just booked a cabin that is part of my TA's group space. This is the pricing if I had booked directly with a refundable deposit. And this is the invoice from my TA for the same 4D balcony booked as part of his group space. $374 dollar discount and my TA's booking comes with $50 OBC as well.
  10. I wonder if the C&A balcony discount would apply to a "virtual" balcony.
  11. Ive had 2 on Liberty so far 1700 and 1704. 1700 is better but they were both great. Which do you have?
  12. I am absolutely a coffee guy. Every morning must begin with Black coffee. That being said I'm not adverse to other drinks as well. I've known to order a Frappe at Starbucks in the afternoons from time to time. When I'm cruising it's coffee and OJ in the morning. Diet Coke at lunch. The drinking begins in earnest after the mid day meal. 🙂 I think that is great idea! Ive got a few in archives.
  13. No, I usually will have a specific time when I have availability to cruise. I'll pick out two or three options that look attractive to me and ask him to let me know what pricing looks like for both or all three and will then choose. Sometimes he has group space, sometimes he doesn't. I'd say of about of my last five cruises and of my next five Royal cruises about half are in group space. Sometimes the savings is small, $20 or $50, but sometimes the savings are huge. Early this year when I travelled on Odyssey, booking group space was $1400 less than what Royal offering directly on their website at time of booking for a similar cabin. By final payment it was down to a $500 difference, I think, but still a substantial savings. Irrespective of the discount, every group booking is a refundable deposit which can mean anywhere from a $75 value upwards to $250 or even more. The only restriction I can think of is that you must book double occupancy so group space can't really be used if taking advantage of the KSF discount but that not an issue for us anymore.
  14. Many TA's have them you just have to email or call and ask. My TA has a good number. Probably a TA associated with a large agency that still gives personal service would my recommendation. Sometimes contacting someone you might know who has a TA they like might be a good place to start.
  15. No, find a TA with group space and your cruise will have a refundable deposit and be cheaper than Royal's posted rate.
  16. Thanks all for the help... I have booked the upgrade package but I think I'll cancel it. I forgot about calculating the overnight stops into the equation. I think I'm going to cancel that upgrade and put that money towards something else.
  17. We just brought pictures of the negative tests for our grandkids.
  18. This thread is so hard to keep on... One day behind means 10 pages to view! I had one of the best steaks of my life yesterday at a little place in Claremont CA called The Meat Cellar. I had the Prime Tomahawk (apx. 2 lbs) It was truly spectacular. I'll definitely be going back.
