  1. All the angst over "its not a real sale" is hilarious. Like somehow this is unique to Royal or even cruising. LOL Didn't anybody go Black Friday shopping... "UP TO 70% OFF... STOREWIDE!!!" There was one rack of stuff nobody wanted that was 70% off. The pants I wanted were 20% off 🙂 . I didn't go online complaining about Columbia Outdoors dishonesty.
  2. I'm a blue bell fan too. I've got a friend just outside of OKC that got me hooked on both. Blue Bell when I'm buying it at the store. Braums when I'm going out for a cone... How does that sound 🙂
  3. Like @crzndeb said in and out of Seattle Alaska Airlines is always the best. I'm a planner so I get nervous about waiting until 2 months out but I'm usually looking 3-4 months in advance.
  4. Looking forward to trying it... I love brisket.
  5. My last two cruises (Oasis and Navigator) I didn't get a rejection email.
  6. No I've gotten digital since we turned diamond early in 2022... For us the percentage off the second picture or package is the only difference I can see.
  7. Which is really really weird to me... Of all the places on the ship to "hang out" the Windjammer is about last spot I would choose.
  8. Apparently there is a Rabbi that has been contracted by Royal Caribbean to celebrate Hanukkah on Harmony from the 7th to the 14th. I plan on attending at least once. For those that celebrate is there anything that I should bring or be aware of in order to be respectful of the tradition. I've already read up on the Maccabean revolt and the rededication of the temple. Any other suggestions? Should I get and wear a Yarmulke? Would that be wrong since I'm not Jewish? Would any other hat suffice?
  9. Good comments Greg... As someone who loves to read and has done live reviews as well I really appreciate your comments. I've enjoyed doing them but I'm sure that not everyone cares for what I post. That's what's so beautiful about liberty. You get to choose what you read. 😉 Some live reviews I lose interest in and stop reading. Some they are the first thing I go for when I open CC in the morning. I tend to enjoy those by people who I have had interactions with on the forum more than just random ones but some random ones are great also. Some focus on, excursions, others on food or drinks. Some on the shows. Actually the diversity of focus is what makes following them interesting. If they were all the same it would get very very boring. There's only so many pictures of a Chops steak that Im going to be interested in. I've never met @A&L_Ont Andrew but feel like I know him and his great family through this thread and his many great "live" threads. Your @Sea Dog live threads have added a dimension and insight into you and your life. Following John's many lives made me feel like we were really friends and when we meet IRL we'll pick up where we left off on the forum. They add a flavor to the endless stream of tipping threads and MDR complaint threads that, if that was all there was, would kill this forum. I think the average reader who has never done one doesn't realize the tremendous effort it takes to keep one going effectively. Curating pictures, producing video on the fly and narrating events that are meaningful to such a diverse group is real work. We enjoy it, that's why we do it, but it is work nonetheless. I've got 2 weeks on Harmony coming up and there is no way I can do one on week 1 since we are traveling with DD, SIL and their 3 kids. It's going to be a full time job just staying with that group day in and out but week 2 with just DW and I might get a live going. I won't please everyone but that is what that little red x is for up in the corner.
  10. Yeah, they should do a regional thing. Put Tillamook on sailings out is Seattle and Braums out of Texas. I don’t know what Ice Cream is a Florida ice cream but whatever it is choose that. Ben and Jerry’s is very very average for an over priced ice cream.
  11. Yes, I have used cruise planner purchases to top up to the required amount to get the deal. Sadly, I have gotten the deal three times in the past but nothing the last two times this has shown up for other people.
  12. Not a huge difference in miles. At least you will get some different scenery. 🙂
  13. Exactly, people keep citing, icon, and star prices as if they are indicative of all royal Caribbean prices. There are still value to be had. Harmony out of Galveston has some good prices. I just booked two cruises B2B for December 2025 on oasis of the seas at what I still think is very good value, my travel agent had group space. First week was a six day for approximately 1750 for a balcony cabin and the second week, the week preceding Christmas, was 2650. That second one was a southern Caribbean cruise and I know those ones tend to have a bit of a premium attached to it. Those are out the door all taxes and price. Absolutely, you’re going to pay premium for icon and star. If you’re looking for value it’s out there.
  14. I'm not sure you know what you are talking about. Switzerland has the highest per capita consumer debt in the world.
  15. Neither does the one on Serenade but I'd still take it any time I could. It is so spacious I can live without the balcony.
  16. My first cruise back after the shutdown was on Serenade in OV panoramic that used to be the old CL. It was really really nice.
  17. Reservation usually come to be available on the first of the month of the month preceding your cruise. For example... Your cruise is March 15, reservations will be available Feb 1. They are not always 100 percent accurate with the start date. Start watching a day or two early and it could be as late as a couple of days after.
  18. It is already flying... Icon proved this is a successful and lucrative market. At least in the short term. What's gong to be interesting to see is what happens to these new cruisers they hooked when they book a second or third cruise on Explorer or Liberty or Enchantment not realizing all ships are not equal. I had friends recently tell me about booking a cruise on Enchantment based on some ad that they had seen for Royal Caribbean. It was a fast paced video that had a montage of things you find on many different ships. None of which will be on Enchantment. The general population doesn't do a great deal research. If they can't retain them as repeat customers they're going to start to have trouble filling the ships down the road.
  19. Navigator has a 2 br grand suite and the OV Panoramic on Serenade is 2 br suite as well.
