  1. It doesn't start until may 2025 at the earliest.
  2. This is from P&O website ETIAS Update In the near future, British nationals travelling to the EU will be required to obtain an ETIAS travel authorisation prior to sailing with P&O Cruises for all itineraries that include an EU port. This travel authorisation is a new EU regulation and will be proactively enforced. As with all visa and passport requirements, applying for the ETIAS travel authorisation is the responsibility of the travelling guest. The current time frame for this new regulation to come into effect is May 2025, and for any guests sailing to the EU in 2025, further information will be communicated in due course as it becomes available. For more information please visit - https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias_en However, that link does not appear to work!!
  3. They also have massive tides. Between Alderney and Guernsey, the tide runs at 9 knots, so if you have wind as well!! Not sure why cruise ships bother, as they cancel 2/3rds of the stops.
  4. That's why I always use a Travel Agent. They answer straight away!!
  5. Must say I wouldn't buy jewellry on any ship. Very difficult to get a refund if something is wrong.
  6. I don't miss the turn down, or the chocolates on the pillow. I do think the food in the MDR has gone down a lot, mainly because they are trying to get you to pay for speciality restaurants. Luckily I don't cruise for the food, but for the holiday. I won't starve.
  7. This site is pretty good for timings. https://www.cruisetimetables.com/ Or Google cruise ship schedule with the port - ie Tromso. https://tromso.havn.no/en/traffic/cruise-calls/
  8. Yep, some of them don't seem to realize they are not good at jokes. Wish they would just tell the passengers something of interest and forget the jokes.
  9. agree, that's what we do. Half the stuff in cans and bottles is just plain water.
  10. My husband has medical issues and I did a new quote with Aviva (we are currently with UK Insurance through Nationwide). Had a nice email back from Aviva. No age restriction and the addons were actually slightly less!
  11. We used to travel on the day, but not any more. Rather nice to have a hotel the night before 5 minutes to the port. I thought the Opening Ceremony was pretty awful except for Celine Dion whose voice was just magnificent.
  12. We also now travel the day before and stay in a hotel. No worry about roads.
  13. Haven't sailed on her for 10 years, but going on her just before the refit in October. I expect to enjoy myself no matter what.
  14. We are on her in October and get back on November 7th. Haven't sailed on her in 10 years, but it was a good deal with a lot of OBC and free parking. So we will see how we find her. Speciality restaurants don't bother us and we mostly eat in the MDR, although if Aurora is anything to go by, the food was very boring for our taste, but luckily I don't cruise for the food.
  15. Some years back when we did US and Canada cruise, we did no P&O excursions at all. We found something in every port.
  16. exactly what I was going to say. 'why bother. Just pay as you go. Especially as some of the time you will be ashore.
  17. Couldn''t agree more. Both Covid and Noro are "viruses". The handgel is anti-bacterial and of no use at all with those two illnesses.
  18. what would I give for proper Chinese duck with hoisin sauce instead of that roast duck they aways serve.
  19. Not really. I carry at least 5 boxes as I suffer with severe IBS and so do lots of other people, and anyway, Imodium is not recommended if you have a bacterial/virus illness as it keeps the bug inside you.
  20. Not in a minority on FB that's for sure. Lots of people think it's pathetic on Adult Only ships. fine for kids. But seems it has given some amusement on here, so that's OK 😆
  21. I don't either. Haven't even thought about them for 6 months or more. Sending an email asking those with stomach problems to not go on their cruise is just ridiculous. Most will do what everyone has always done when there was a questionnaire. Answer no to everything. That's like asking people with a cold to stay at home. Of course they won't.
