  1. Agreed. Even when someone's personal views align with my own I don't like mixing the cruise world with the real world. Keep it separate.
  2. Neither is Anthem. Likely why they pulled her out of the region.
  3. Local residents didn't receive notice to go inside. Tourists at local hotels didn't receive notice to go inside. There is a campsite at Jetty Park located at the mouth of the port where it meets the sea. It is owned and operated by the port. Did the port warn campers? Curious if any other cruise line had ships in port at that moment. If so, did they take action? Did the National Weather Service warn any one? Sometimes mother nature is a B(*ch.
  4. Naughty or is it the fjords are off limits in 2025? Isn't 2025 when the new Norwegian emissions standards go into effect? As mentioned before, the Regulations on environmental safety for ships and mobile offshore units were amended by gradually phasing in strict environmental requirements in the world heritage fjords, including NOx emissions requirements with the Tier II requirements, effective as of 1 January 2002, and the Tier III requirements, which will come into effective on 1 January 2025
  5. Airlines have long been a PITA about name changes. If It's domestic you are probably fine. International is another matter.
  6. Similar to when Quantum was in Asia the Diamond Lounge was converted into a high rollers casino. Same with Spectrum. Spectrum Teppanyaki is very similar to Teppanyaki on Odyssey. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/spectrum-of-the-seas/things-to-do/teppanyaki https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/spectrum-of-the-seas/things-to-do/noodle-bar Sichuan Red where Sorrento's would normally be. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/spectrum-of-the-seas/things-to-do/sichuan-red https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/menus/sichuan-red-menu-sample.pdf Leaf and Bean where the Pub would normally be https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/spectrum-of-the-seas/things-to-do/coffee-and-tea-shop The Balcony is an outdoor area for the Golden Lounge.
  7. They usually have some vendors set up near the pier in St. Croix. There are some local shops and a restaurant near the pier but not a lot. Otherwise there isn't a lot close to the ship in St. Croix. In my experience the street vendors in St. Croix are pretty chill. It's not the typical aggressive vendor approach so common in the Caribbean. It's very enjoyable. There is a small beach that is walkable if you don't have mobility issues.
  8. There is no hard data to know what they plan for Odyssey after a winter in Bayonne. It's all speculation. When Indy started showing up on what would look like a Southampton cruise it's begs the question if they would move Odyssey off Civitavecchia. Royal has firm Civitavecchia booking data from Odyssey now and known Anthem booking data from Southampton to use in support of a future deployment decision. Royal will place Odyssey where it will be most profitable.
  9. Some think that OY has been so successful doing Greece that they will keep her there, repeating what she is currently doing for the summers.
  10. Once they turn 18 they are hesitant to retroactively make changes to status. Be glad you achieved what you did, my "kids" are getting to Diamond purely on their own despite me being Pinnacle.
  11. Of course. They are higher on Utopia 2025 bookings compared to summer 2024.
  12. As far as wine, I had 5 bottles in my cabin, but one was a special gift from an officer. Between 6 daily drinks and 5 bottles of wine I was good for the cruise.
  13. On Navigator this week there were 14 Pinnacles so we had access to SL. Expect using your 6 CAS drinks everywhere including in the SL. YMMV. Breakfast in Chops this cruise. Cheers with an officer was on day 6 but this is a less frequent 7 night Navigator cruise.
  14. Current onboard pricing on another ship: Harmony will be similar. As a D member you will get a small discount from the price of a multidevice plan purchased on board. You can't combine the onboard discounts from multiple D members so it will be one discount typically $27.99 or the equivalent of one 24 hour day pass. For a seven night cruise a 4 device plan would be 7 x $16.99 x 4 devices = $475.72 less $27.99 = $447.73. How does that compare to an advance purchase in the cruise planner?
  15. The Bahamian gov't will levy the same fees as Nassau. Port fees will be different especially since the the new 3rd party that upgraded the Nassau pier needs to cover their expenses so the fees are different than Nassau but there are fees.
  16. Owning land does not make it a sovereign nation despite some attempts in Michigan to claim so. 🤣 Despite owning an island it is still governed by the laws of the country that it is part of. Ask any billionaire who owns a private island. They are still part of some country and subject to taxation and laws of that country.
  17. For Sept. 6 I was able to move from an interior to a boardwalk balcony for about $210 less thanks to CAS DP340 and balcony discount that wasn't there an hour ago.
  18. Maybe the crane accident didn't damage any part of the ship, but losing the crane in the shipyard until it's repaired may have impacted the timeline if it isn't available as expected.
