Celebrity told you to call the wrong number and that is RCL's fault?

Deployment 2024-25 booking season begins

They are unlikely to update the decor of the ship. I'd look at Oasis to set a loose expectation. No cabin updates on Oasis for example. New venues assuming there is an amplification at all. -
Deployment 2024-25 booking season begins

Is it just me or did Australia give the cruise lines a cold shoulder during the restart? I feel like while other regions embraced cruising and jumped on board in surprising numbers, Australia was meh to cruising or worse, still blaming tne industry for the whole thing and making the restart difficult. It also seems like who ever Royal was working with on Lelepa prepandemic didn't have all the aboriginal players involved. The original plans claimed to be working with local tribal folks but now a chief has spoken out like they were never consulted. So who was Royal working with who claimed to represent the locals but apparently did not? -
Royal has the numbers from several seasons now. If Med cruises can operate with similar revenue results compared to other regions then there is no reason to change. Six Oasis class ship certaintly is a factor. Add a couple Icon class and they risk oversaturating the US with too many berths if they base them all in Florida and Texas. Texas mega ship itineraries are pretty boring. No need to double the berth count on those routes. On the other hand if Florida continues to be a cruise ship cash cow maybe there is enough demand for more berths. Time will tell.

That will be huge and changes the deployment scenario significantly.

Is it safe to say that's its more complex then one check box based on a ship's last visit to a shipyard? The list of required maintenance is pretty extensive and detailed. It isn't as simple as one visit resets everything. Accurate statement?

Unfortunately the app doesn't work well for interport passengers boarding in Italy. Royal IT hasn't understood this is a thing quite yet.

Turn on airplane mode, turn off wifi and try them.

It's not always offered. It was offered on a Celebrity cruise in 2017 but cancelled a few weeks before. I didn't see it again on my next 3 Hubbard visits. On my last visit in 2022 it wasn't offered for my Serenade visit while a few weeks later it was offered on the Serenade. I don't know the reasoning, just that some weeks it isn't offered.

Sounds like "The Pearl" on Icon. Also flips guests upside down so money fall out of pockets and disappears into floor grates. -

I also think they don't want to abandon the market with a new Carnival ship, built in China, about to enter service in China. -

Some of the new restrictions go into effect Jan. 1 2025 while others are later. If I'm not mistaken the 2025 restrictions would require a port of call have shore power available in order for a conventional ship to be acceptable, or at least one iteration would have that requirement and it didn't sound like shore power was going to be available. There may be enough uncertainty in the evolving restrictions for cruise lines to be leary and simply avoid Norway beyond 2024. -
Utopia of the Seas Blocks Are In The House!

I thought Mike from Canada was the new "take out" CD replacing Bobby Brown in that role. At least that was the pre-shutdown plan. -
Smoking Sections on the Navigator of the Seas
twangster replied to zodiac1's topic in Royal Caribbean International
But the pool deck is pretty awesome with no smoke on either side and with two restaurants on the pool deck it needs all the (smoke free) seating it can get. -
Smoking Sections on the Navigator of the Seas
twangster replied to zodiac1's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Was that Navigator? Last week there was no smoking on the Navigator pool deck on deck 11. Smoking was on Deck 12, under the cover of the Viking Crown Lounge port side, in addition to deck 4 port and the casino. -
Freedom dry dock. Xmas '24 cruise cancelled

Freedom already received the best amp in this class while Liberty remains un-amped. What else are they bringing to her? -

Tendering at Catalina on the 3/4 night cruises twice a week seems like it would burn out the crew pretty quickly. It's one thing to tender Q class occasionally or on longer cruises when needed in NZ but doing it so frequently every few days on a 3/4 rotation doesn't sound like a good plan. -

With Spectrum going back into China my guess would be one Q class backfilling Spectrum and not going to Alaska just as Spectrum has never gone to Alaska, leaving two Q for Alaska. Three Q in Alaska seems excessive and hard to make work embarking on weird days. Just a guess on my part. -
Utopia of the Seas Short Cruises??
twangster replied to lcpagejr's topic in Royal Caribbean International
RCG must see tremendous upside to short Florida market since Celebrity is re-deploying Reflection to the 3 & 4 short Florida market. -
RCL needs a chief meteorologist
twangster replied to cusematt4's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Ironically even after his termination JVF has posted warnings for cruise passengers in South Florida. This one on June 17 for Port Everglades and the Port of Miami warned passengers to explore outer decks early then shift to inside. -

Unlikely with an Oasis class spending the summer there. -
Celebrity Coming to CocoCay?

I've been waiting for a pier announcement. It's just a matter of the right size bribe, I mean lobbying fee, to the right official. -

With Celebrity's upscale pricing model maybe they figure they can upscale PDCC prices more with X guests. -

Living in the area as someone who drive a topless jeep whenever the weather will let me I know all too well how pop up storms come out of nowhere. On radar once the NWS has accumulated enough past images to cobble together into a radar animation you can see these storms literally develop out of thin air. The problem is you can't see them growing in a radar animation until they have happened. By that time I find myself driving in the rain with the top down regretting taking the jeep on that day. That's Florida weather in the summer. I'm a grown adult and I take chances sometimes like driving the jeep on some occasion, like I am doing today, knowing that despite a clear forecast a pop up storm is still possible. In this case I have to ask why people stayed outside? If I'm cutting the grass and I see a dark cloud developing around me I stop and go inside. I know lightning is probably next. I don't wait for the NWS, my county or the police to tell to get my butt inside. I know better.
