On our recent Radiance sailing, we were in a balcony gty, assigned a cabin (in a great location btw) and then received an email offering a full refund of the fare price plus $300 obc if we’d downgrade to an OV, or if we’d cancel, they’d give a full refund plus a future cruise credit for the full fare amount. I declined. A guarantee is a guarantee and I don’t know that anyone has actually been kicked off a ship involuntarily.

I was pretty agitated when they started this but have adjusted to once in the evening which has turned out ok. We don’t make a mess and I make the bed in the morning and it’s nice to know there won’t be anyone in the cabin if you need to make that quick stop to the restroom after breakfast. But, as said, raising grats and reducing service is not cool. Also it seems that the stewards are so overtaxed, you get no personal service anymore.

Just got back from a 16 day PC cruise on Radiance. Ate dinner in the dining room three times and gave up in disgust. The chefs are trying hard to make a good meal out of the crap they’re being given to work with but you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. The Windjammer had the same stuff every day - chicken nuggets, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes, three different kinds of pizza and a pan of some kind of beef mixture and a pan of mystery fish. As usual, lots of pretty but taste free desserts. I mostly ate a hamburger for a late lunch and no dinner. Very disappointing except I didn’t gain a pound. The D+ bathroom amenities that used to be L’Occitane are now L’Motelle No. 6. The crew are still trying but are working with less and trying to keep up. Mr Liberty has cheapened Royal to Dollar Store status.

Got the email prior to the sailing I’m currently on. Requested beds separated. Guess what. They were not. You can’t count on a prior request. Just ask the steward when you get there.

On the Radiance right now and the tv in our cabin is so old it doesn’t even have hdmi ports. It only has an old component port.. 😆

One word about Galveston in January and February. It can be very foggy sometimes that can cause delays.

Yeah, I had 25 days of that pkg but Covid killed it all.

150 would be my choice. Chops is getting old and tired and Jamie’s (to me) is forgettable at best.

Yes it is, but between my wife and I, we get 10 drinks a day and we never even surpass that so it’s a no for me.

I just noticed on an upcoming cruise in the cruise planner that the Deluxe Beverage Package has a 35% Senior Savings Sale. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a Senior sale before. Is this only offered to seniors? Do they think seniors drink less on the package than younger purchasers?

You’re just beating your head against a brick wall. No matter how many reps you talk to, they can’t change the causal situation or the contract. I wouldn’t be happy either but such are the perils of cruising. You have two choices. Either go or cancel.

Dream works was discontinued about 4 years ago.

If it happens, it will no doubt “enhance our experience” in their favor..

They changed the extra solo points for a cancelled twosome some time ago.

This was a hot topic in the Q&A with Bayley on the President’s Cruise. He said he was unaware that 16 year olds were allowed in the Solarium and would give strong consideration in changing it.

Just go and pay on the first day and ask if you can reserve it for a later night. I haven’t been turned down yet, but as others have said, YMMV.
