  1. I don't think any of use know the logarithm that is used to set the price and/or award a win. Recently the prices I've seen are rally on the high side. It is always a good idea to start by recording your current price and the cost to upgrade on a full paid basis. This will help with the bidding. I have had some offers where It would be cheaper to pay full fare and select a room than bid on an upgrade and get what ever cabin is available. Usually the Minimum bids start at $500-800 for a AQ to SS and possibly 800-1,000 for a AQ to CS. Remember this is the minimum bid and is per person. The bid will show the Min and Max bid for each category. Whether it is worth an upgrade or not is a personal decision. Unless the cruise is going out with lots of availability the minimum bid is rarely a winning bid.
  2. When you transfer or book with a TA they then own the reservation and must be used to service your booking. If you contact Celebrity direct they will advise you that you need to contact your TA.
  3. Rome2Rio is always a good resource to provide alternatives. https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Bologna/Ravenna
  4. I'm not sure if they have Popcorn all of the time. I have seen it being offered in the Small Movie Theater and at a Super Bowl Party in the Main Theater. Ask and you may be rewarded.
  5. I was told they could do it without an employee number but the Retreat Host volunteered to look up the employee number to make sure the correct employee received the gratuity. Sometimes it can be difficult. We had a waiter in Luminae that had been promoted from the MDR on the 1st segment of a B3B. ON the second cruise he was back in MDR because of shortages but on the 3rd he was back in Luminae. His name had changed - initially his name was his Last Name but on his new tag for the 3rd it had changed to his First Name - He indicated it could be common for Indonesian's.
  6. My understanding is that the CC Minutes are all Premium Internet. I really don't see much change here. If I recall correctly CC was only marginally available with basic even with the old internet. With the basic you should still be able to get your e-mail, browse the internet except pages that are data intensive.
  7. It is possible if rooms are available after the upgrade. Usually this is not an option as they upgrade all the cabins and much of the time all the cabins that are open are filled. Also they often don't upgrade until just before they lock the reservation system for the cruise (about 48-72 hours prior to the cruise). Once on-board you could ask if you can switch cabins.
  8. They do cost more than a Celebrity Suite but are not considered an upper suite for the purpose of benefits like the Royal.
  9. I could be wrong but I believe you have 30 days to transfer the booking. In your case the Future Cruise Booking is actually a reservation with a reservation number. You can transfer the Future Cruise Booking to your agent during this time and then they could book for you during the validity period
  10. The upgrade is a change of room to a room in the class you are bidding on. You will loose your existing room. I always warn that you should expect the worst cabin in the new classification and if you get better it's a bonus.
  11. I've had it confirmed by the HR Directory (2 different ships) that if you write the Employee's name and Employee number the tip is directed to the individual. If you just fill in the category (e.g. Room Attendant or Dining Room) it goes to the pool of the position. Both director indicated they were certain because they were the one that applied it. The staff member is notified by Guest Relations when a tip is left to either the individual or the staff member. I have had them thank me for the gratuity without prompting.
  12. You get the amenities that come with a room - e.g. 2 bottles of Spirits of your choice, free specialty dining etc. You do not get the perks of the room e.g. extra points or drinks package, free internet etc unless you already had them.
  13. Thanks for the update. I read on the "internet" that Celebrity received a huge swarm of complaints and tried to back peddle by releasing a statement -
  14. Thanks -- hope we can push them a bit we sail on 9/11 with Ponant. We are Zenith on Celebrity so should get Grand Admiral.
  15. Thanks so much - I have sent a reply back to our rejection and hope they will apply it quickly. Our first cruise with Ponant is on September 11.
  16. We had a problem with Sewer Smell on Apes in a RS. I complained over 4 days and they would send someone up but no resolution. The Retreat Concierge asked to speak with us and offered us a nice OBC. We of course accepted. It was really weird as it just suddenly came up as a problem. I applied the OBC to our November Cruise before final payment. On a whim --- I decided to try something - I filled the waste basket full of water and dumped it down the floor drain - heard a couple gurgles and lo and behold the problem disappeared. I suspect that possibly the j-trap in the drain didn't have enough water to block the sewage smell. The other assumption is that it just fixed itself.
  17. Thanks - Do you happen to have the URL to the website that list's Celebrity. I can't seem to find it. I have however replied to their rejection and will see what happens.
  18. Glad you enjoyed. Iain always gets the Mulligatawny Soup and really enjoys.
  19. These were the Prices October 2021. I'm sure they have increased but will give you an idea.
  20. A recent blogger posted prices on this link https://paulandcarolelovetotravel.com/celebrity-cruises-spa-prices/
  21. I heard from a good friend last night that is a big gambler. "BlueChip exec/rep actually sent us a personal email and text last week telling us the Vaping trial was over and they are not going forward with the vaping in casinos. "
  22. Wondering if the $2.00 cookies are specialty cookies. In the description it says - Warm Hand Crafted.
  23. You can arrive anytime from when Check In opens - usually around 11:00. Latest is usually 1 hour prior to departure.
  24. My experience has been they have shows at 7PM and 9PM on Equinox the same as other ships. I've not noticed that the time shift by cruise location. You can check out the Celebrity App for a current sailing on Equinox and find under Activities.
