  1. No worries, I was being a bit sarcastic/humorous. It's VERY casual/relaxed in the Caribbean. My point was it's not really possible to be that much more casual/relaxed than it already is in the Caribbean.
  2. 4. I saw shorts at night on Harmony a few months ago, just like I see in the MDR. 5. Agree about the night one filet, it was excellent, but the rest of the dinners were only slightly better than the MDR (if that) IMO, not specialty restaurant quality.
  3. MORE casual? Not sure how much more casual it could get.
  4. FWIW, the last time I read about this type of change I believe everyone who had already purchased packages just got the extra days at no extra charge. I want to say it was even better, like a 3 or 4-night was changed to a 7-night but I could be wrong.
  5. Yes, there should be a button to modify your bid.
  6. I can see it now..."Private hallway with direct access to the Windjammer!" I'm in!
  7. My blackjack days are long behind me but that's pretty accurate. When I was 21 and didn't have much money, I used to go to the casino in the early AM so I could play $5 BJ b/c, as you said, limits went up as the day went on.
  8. This is more based on land-based casino experience from years past, but I'd ask the casino manager if they could make a table $10 or whatever you're hoping for. Worst they can do is say no. Common sense dictates that low limit tables bring in more revenue than empty tables but I have no idea how much control cruise casino managers have. For all I know, corporate has told them "no tables under $15."
  9. I ask my wife what color polo/short sleeve button down to wear each night to go with her casual dress or slightly nicer top. We're very coordinated... need to take at least 2 decent pictures to use our Diamond freebies on... then the pictures usually wind up in a drawer. šŸ¤£
  10. Not formal at all. You'll see shorts and t-shirts. Dress shirt and tie will put him above average in terms of how formal men are dressed. He should feel free to wear whatever he is comfortable with.
  11. I'm not picky and book many GTY cabins but the one place I'd prefer not to be is on such a low deck. In addition to the issues mentioned above, you're an awful long way from the higher decks where most people spend quite a bit of time.
  12. Usually on the dates of the flier, but RCI could very well say the sale is "sold out" and won't honor the price. Damn, I must have been super unclear, lol. I know it starts on the dates of the flier. I was asking it if was midnight or whatever. Anyway, it's all good, I booked the one I wanted last week on Wednesday morning. It's $5/pp more this week, woohoo! šŸ˜
  13. My limited experience is that dinner there ranges from excellent (night one filet mignon) to no better than the MDR (and I'm not an MDR fan). The menu is exactly like the MDR; the 3 course sections change nightly and there are standby items as well. As mentioned above, I'd consider it slightly better than the MDR but not a specialty restaurant. I did enjoy breakfast there, but mostly for the atmosphere.
  14. Looks like they basically combined the breakfast and lunch menus and made it one long seating time. Doesn't do anything for me, personally, but more options are always a good thing.
  15. My wife has been telling anyone considering it to stay away for many years, lol. She's too vested in the retirement system to leave though... fortunately she's finally out of the classroom in a support position where she's still helping kids but has an office and a lot less off the clock work.
  16. Did a B2B 3 and 4-night on Indy on July and doing another 4-night next month. I think Indy was amped in 2018 or so. We loved Playmakers for both the drinks and the food; the rest of the amped features weren't important to us. There is Grease, an ice show, and a headliner (could be anything from comedy to juggling to singing), and plenty of live music in the different bars/venues. More than enough nightly entertainment for such a short cruise, IMO. I can't speak to Liberty but the entertainment across Freedom class should be quite similar. I'd be happy to answer specific Indy questions if I can.
  17. More on topic, won't be on Wonder until next June, but I've never had a problem with Oasis class WJ's. If you avoid the super crowded times, there's plenty of space. Early breakfast and dinners (don't go the second it opens) have usually been quite peaceful in my experience.
  18. Perhaps Canada is different, but my wife was a public school teacher here for over 20 years and she had to do tons of work over her summers "off" and was especially busy in the last two weeks leading up to the first day. (She still works in the same school, just has a different position now that thankfully doesn't require to do nearly as much work when she's technically "off.")
  19. I haven't seen a timeline but there are reports (with pictures) from onboard Indy that it is already being installed. I don't see why it wouldn't still be operational on Freedom. No reason to install all those dishes just to remove them.
  20. Its a huge perk for me. Iā€™m frugal & not a coffee snob. I drink cheap stuff every morning at home. On cruises, I usually start my day with 3 cappuccinos from the machine.
  21. Don't forget there's a coffee machine in the DL with cappuccino, espresso, latte, etc. No need to use vouchers for coffee drinks unless the machine doesn't suit your needs.
  22. This is incorrect. You ABSOLUTELY get 4 more D drinks on disembarkation morning. You can use them for fresh squeezed OJ, mimosas if the WJ bar is serving alcohol, coffee drinks at Cafe Promenade, bottled water, etc.
