  1. The ship itself is nice however, it can get significantly overcrowded. Especially the pool area and the buffet.
  2. Yes!! And just try to get a steward when you need something.
  3. FYI, some hotels still do twice a day service (bed turndown service). This also means no more cute towel animals on the bed. We usually tip the steward a few extra dollars at the end of the cruise. I guess that will also go away. Personally, I will only cruise Royal these days if the price is incredibly cheap or free. The line has gone significantly downhill since COVID. Personally, at this point I don't care if they go away.
  4. There is a rumor Royal is removing their Always Available entrees to save costs.
  5. I would suggest looking at the Morristown/Summit area of New Jersey.
  6. I would suggest looking at the Morristown/Summit area of New Jersey.
  7. If it is a nice day you can stay outside. There is a 911 memorial and a nice view of the city.
  8. Lots of stuff to do, not sure how much is of interest to a 9-year old. Multiple forts, houses that have tours, museums, nice walking town. Fairly nice shopping street. I have stayed at the Hampton Inn in the historic district. Can be a good option if you have Hilton points.
  9. Newark is the absolute best option unless it is SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive. Hotel depends on when your flight gets in and if you want to do any local sightseeing before the cruise. Late at night stay at the hotel at/near the airport and taxi/uber the next day. If it is not rush hour maybe a 20 minute drive from the airport to the port.
  10. You will probably need to have a physician say you can't travel due to medical reasons.
  11. Probably, it is still listed for my January sailing however I find the menus continuously change, even once you board.
  12. We have a cruise scheduled for May that has a hop-on-hop-off bus option. Thought maybe we would do that and do a complete circuit on the bus and then on our own. Is that reasonable? We are in port 8am to 5PM.
  13. on the QE - Q321 June 21, 2023 - White Tie June 28, 2023 - Masquerade
  14. Ok I will buy a white tie (if I can find one) to go with the black tux, that is about as far as I can go.
  15. What is "Ice White"? That is one of the gala nights on a cruise I booked. The other is "masquerade" however Cunard's website explains what that is.
  16. I have a B2B cruise booked and received a discount of $100 per cruise (each longer than 10 days). NOT ALL CELEBRITY REPRESENTATIVES KNOW THIS. YOU MAY HAVE TO CALL MULTIPLE TIMES. I am not sure if this applies to group bookings.
  17. First the coffee card is supposed to only be used for espresso-based drinks. It makes sense if you buy single espresso shot Cappuccinos & Lattes. That is what I drink so I buy the card if the cruise is long enough.
  18. I am shocked, I just got the upgrade email. Upgraded from OV to family veranda.
  19. I have a TA on RCCL and they have been NO HELP on getting good airfare back to the US. I have a TA with RCCL in April and they have been no help with one-way airfare back from Europe. Quoting over $600ish a person. If you even think about RCCL get a quote on airfare before making a change. You will have to call the 800# since the website is no help.
  20. Yes, all the payments show Cunard. I just feel more comfortable with the official confirmation from Cunard. Unfortunately, I am dealing with a large TA that does not quite get it. I think next time I will book directly with Cunard.
  21. I have not seen payment information on the Cunard website. Most cruise lines don't post payment info when you book through a TA.
  22. Prices are going up due to demand and inflation. Also, the closer you get to sailing the higher the prices go, assuming the cabins are selling at a reasonable pace.
  23. The apps really don't get updated until much closer to sailing.
