  1. Playmakers review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaPenfUrf2Y
  2. Here is a link to Cruise With Ben and David that reviews the food, very good. We plan on doing both. I love them, aren't they funny?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vVlcyhZ_18&t=774s
  3. And I was unable to book an interior for my DD and her DH on deck 4! almost every single cabin had the triple occupancy triangle on it. The booking engine has definitely been tampered with. OOPS forgot the 🤪 to indicate humor....
  4. Doesn't look that flimsy to me! Tried looking up the incidents reported of people breaking through and reeking havoc amongst the tourists though....not one!
  5. Truthfully, Labadee is not my favorite stop either, haven't been on that Itin for quite a while, don't look for it, but I'll be going next month on Odyssey, it just happened to be a stop along with Coco Cay which I thought would be cool having both RCCL resorts. Things have changed on Labadee, they added a breakwater and a floating bar since I was there, so I'll be enjoying them, not worried nor concerned about unrest in Haiti.
  6. Don't you just love when you have a fully paid up cruise? No money worries...gotta love it!
  7. We did question the location when we went to the cabin, guest services would not move us. A little late if ship is pretty much fully booked. Of course it never hurts to ask, I am a firm believer in that! We have been moved after boarding a couple of times but not with a Royal Up bid. This is from the terms and conditions for Royal Up: Can I choose the location or specific features of the RoyalUp℠ upgrade cabin? No, your cabin location and attributes will depend on availability. RCI cannot guarantee a specific cabin number assignment within the upgraded category.
  8. I always think of Good Morning Viet Nam when I hear the word Peninsula! "Say, didn't we meet last year at the Peninsula Club"! LOL
  9. ALways do. I memorized my # long ago. I also put in the other discounts on that page, BUt then it usually changes the price point on that same page after you enter it, but the ICON doesn't. and then it shows you the "You are getting the best price" message. Oh, and I stay logged in. Other ships bookings it will actually show your C&A#at the top left of page. But I always input it all in the discount page.
  10. They are not honoring our points on ICON as well. Nothing changes when you put in your #. It says, "you are getting the best price". MMMMMMMMM???
  11. I wouldn't trust anything you see on moch bookings right now. Cabins become available it seems, every few hours. My DD an her hubs are looking for an interior way out to Sept. 24 on our cruise and it doesn't show any available on deck 4...none! I don't trust that. Also some Central Park interior ocean view window cabins(no balcony) on deck 9 are apparently being held for 4 occupancy...what? Don't trust that either. Since when can't you book a cabin with Lazarus bunks and a couch just because there is only 2 of you? After all, the wording says "UP to 3" ! I think things will change drastically the closer we get to the Miami arrival.
  12. Ain't it the truth, ain't it the truth! It's taken me several days to finally get what we coveted after last Monday, but finally.....whew. It typically takes a few minutes to complete a booking with any other ship in the fleet! I honestly just do not comprehend what benefit they get from eliminating 2 people units. It's like, oh you're only 2, YOU CAN"T HAVE IT! WHAT...................
  13. You will love love love Symphony if you liked Allure. One thing is you'll miss the lazy river in Solarium, there isn't one on Symphony, but she is mostly like Allure. Lots of little things like an infinity edge large hot tub in Solarium on Symphony that isn't on Allure. Gorgeous ship. Go for it.
  14. Us too. We won our first bid a year ago on Symphony and ended up in a better category, but was too far from elevators so I wasn't too thrilled all in all. You can't pick your location with the bid! I bid about $10 more than the minimum that time. Didn't win in September, but the ship was Grandeur and it ended up fully booked. I have deduced from this that the bigger the ship and the more cabins in the category you want, the better your odds. I'm hoping that is the case on ICON. Surely there will be an opportunity with so many cabins. And I know from experience that Royal Up is a much cheaper way to get that suite, etc. than just booking it yourself. I think we saved several hundred dollars with our first bid.
  15. I didn't say that. She did get a notification about cancellation. She went back and checked, she had actually gotten 2 saying final payment was due. She said she never saw them, so she was unaware until we went to check in. That's why I caution to set many reminders. I save everything I get in a special doc file on my computer and I'm always looking at the confirmation page to check the date. She happens to be a very busy real estate person, she just got too busy an was relying on those emails too much...it's our responsibility...I think she has learned well.
  16. Gotta be careful though. My cruise bud usually waits until she gets that email notice from RCCL, but this last cruise, the day we were supposed to print up the luggage tags, there was no cruise on her account! She said she never got the email so she forgot to pay it...yep, they DO cancel those! She was able to get an ocean view on deck 3 at the last minute, but not the JS she originally had...what an unhappy camper...caveat emptor!. Lesson learned, put that final payment date on your phone reminder. I am so ACD, I would never forget that date. Usually pay it off the week before so I can get adjustments as others have said.
  17. After several days talking/texting/emailing with front office...they would not budge on that requirement. I think it ludicrous that lots of cabins are excluded from couples for no good reason, but everyone I spoke with said the same thing, she's too new and they are still formulating the booking method...in a nutshell, "hang in there you can transfer to the room you want when normal booking resumes". Since they had the biggest booking day in history I guess it worked, but boy is it frustrating. For those who booked them with 3 peeps, you may be able to remove the 3rd peep later on before final payment. They offered me several alternatives to the category (which required the 3 peeps) I wanted, the Panoramic Ocean View cabin, but there are only a few of them. Currently, they have added notes to my account, she said, holding 2 other cabins until they become available. But for now, we have a Sept. sailing Accessable about 8 ft from the forward elevators at a reasonable amount 😅 $2373 for us. We just couldn't afford Jan 27, too rich for our wallet...sniff. Don't know if we'll ever be able to be there. But I feel I was vindicated about it being that date. As for our current cabin, we're happy with it...at least we're on the ship, who'll be in the darn cabin anyways?! NOw for the 19 month wait watching this thread like a hawk for new announcements, speaking of which, where is that "exciting" new announcement Bayley?????
  18. We've been twice, will not go again. We loved trying it the first time and feel it was worth it, the second we were kinda roped in by traveling companions, but in December coming up, not so much. I'm looking forward to trying SeaPlex Playmakers and the 270 cafe on Odyssey. And the Mason Jar on Wonder next year
  19. We loved ours but I wouldn't pay extra over reg. balcony now, it was a novelty then.
  20. Sorry I'm a little defensive this evening what with all the nay sayers and people doubting what I'm saying. Guess that is just the CC way.
  21. You know this is so typical, I read the same posts before Freedom debuted, then Oasis and now after 5 successful Oasis launches and the most popular cruise fleet in the world, we see it again for this ship. Different strokes for different folks. Ya'll have fun, I know we will.
