  1. 🤦‍♂️, and yet another less than wonderful result from having the medallion. I respectfully disagree. If I pop positive (I didn't, retested self 2 days later & still negative) I'd want to know. Don't you want positive ppl to isolate while contagious??
  2. 👍except my mini bar setup is traded for 2 coffee packages the minute I drop my luggage. Only 'jewelry' left out are my MardiGras beads. Current value = $1.25 + tax
  3. Has this happened to anyone else?? My MedallionClass app / cell phone told me that I was exposed to covid. I tested in my room, waited 15 minutes, was negative, went to PSD to report, and gave him a fright. Sheer panic on his face. Told him he could see my test (C line barely visible, no T line). But he'd backed way up. Apparently Med Center on a dedicated line wanted it. In that it was negative I just went to GS for a cold one. Found me. Oops.
  4. Might be alone in this thought but I find it more important / helpful to know the policy so that I can work with it and not rock the boat. So let me ask you a followup. If it is a B2B and liquor bought, brought to room night before disembarking #1, does it stay in room for #2?? Or is it confiscated again?
  5. I am on a special diet on the ships, vegetarian with allergies, so I'm a really poor judge of food quality. I'd be happy with plenty of raw produce & coffee with heavy cream But I really should give Celebrity a try again (last voyage with them was a disaster)
  6. I have never been to the buffet nor will I as I have an issue with portion control. By having the ship limit my portions I stay within my healthy BMI. range. But this thread has me wondering if RCL could be a fit. My questions are: does RCL have: - classical & modern jazz / blue grass music - full productions with my generations music not my parents (1980s) - expansive piazza - found my answer re: apparently not better wifi (https://justuseapp.com/en/app/1260728016/royal-caribbean-international/problems)
  7. Same for 1st 3 restart cruises, on the 4th one all amenities were in large refillable bottles. No small tubes of lotion.
  8. Im thinking of just booking it from a nearby hotel in the future. Of course I only have 1 carry-on.
  9. 😅🤣😂got an email today as they cannot process it as they need a current brokerage stmt. I sent the May 2022 statement so had to redo with the June 2022 statement. That May statement was the current one when I submitted it. My guess is that they didn't even look. Just tried to clear all requests out
  10. I'm back!! And I don't leave again for 57 days. Not a long one like Belle but my longest one yet (transatlantic). My waist is almost back to my low .... 31.5" Getting healthier Izena, tell me about AMERICAN CRUISE LINES! Cruising the Mississippi River is on my bucket list Susan, down during ice cream season is good!! ============ Family saga:: 8yo granddaughter announced she has 2 homes -> hers & her mom's. 😂 16 yo granddaughter took an old chair out of the garage so just a new desk and she's keeping the floor clear in her (guest) room. I think she's here until college. Then I'll stick her in the dorms unless she picks SFSU. Then I'll stick her in Sohnjay's home.
  11. @Italy52things have changed since the 8/15/21 Majestic voyage. So I will only vouch on how things were last week on Discovery
  12. Contacted Chat today as mine hasn't shown up yet. 'Brian ' said they're working on May 18th submissions unless I was cruising within 14 days ..... then he could put it on. So why don't you try chat?? (My 3 cruises w/o it are next year)
  13. I repeat ... the washer and dryer machines on the Discovery Princess Emerald Deck do not have the token slots. There was a stack of 2 kinds of detergent boxes but onlyv1 kind of dryer sheets. So FREE free. For everyone. I know bc I used it. Maybe they will modify the machines in the future to take tokens but as of now they are free. And a load took less than 45 minutes.
  14. The shuttle was such a nightmare i canceled the ship -> airport ride. Then a friend on the ship (HQE910) told me about Seattle Express. If you have AAA it turns out to be $18.00. They have multiple mini-buses at the end of the shuttle bus row and leave every 15 minutes. Ours wasn't even full & I was at the airport by 8:15ish https://seattleexpress.com/
  15. Sort of along the line my favorite advisor used to say: Divide portfolio into core & explore. 80-90% core (index stock ETFs & fixed income) the rest on explore (individual stocks & bonds). If you lose all your explore part, you still can't be hurt that bad.
  16. Oh good!! I hope we meet up someday. I chuckle inside (no, you can't hear it) when people try to impress me with how many times they've cruised. Let's talk about kids, hobbies, music, or what you've done / plan to do on the cruise. That's more than enough to develop commonality
  17. Do you mean you are going on Ruby Princess or ruby status? On my last Majestic Princess cruise the machines used the 'coins' but they were in a basket above the laundry soap machine.
  18. I was on Discovery Princess and it was FREE free. No slot for those coins. Detergent, softener sheets on a shelf. My steward who had been on the Enchanted Princess said it was free there too. (I'm not on that ship for a few weeks so I can't vouch for it). If I can get breakfast delivered, start laundry, finish breakfast, & put clean laundry away .... all's good. I've had clothes damaged in their hot water (blue socks bleached beige / jean skirt with splotchy bleach stains)
  19. Who does that --- something I would never do. I add the kids laundry. And I don't feel bad. But 1 is now elite and the others are platinum. I like to be sure it all comes back Even better:: FYI the newest ships have free laundry. I can cold wash / cool dry. Took under 20 minutes in dryer but only asst laundry & 3 pr jeans. About 45 min total and nothing damaged
  20. It's been within 270 days for quite a while now. Difference seems to be from date of embarkation to date of disembarkation. Which makes it anywhere from 7 days -> 26 days less (ie: 244 -> 263 after a jab)
  21. I think it might have been that people were just interested in seeing what the food was compared to the regular food served on a cruise ship. They did not serve latkes with applesauce & sour cream or sufganiyah in the dining room. So yeah, people wanted traditional foods. Unfortunately it was the same manishevitz wine (yuck) but regular wine glasses. Even more challah & same fruit / veggie platters. I think it was the community feeling of having dinner among ourselves. If it looked like a feeding frenzy then perhaps it was misunderstood. It was instead of the MDR Yes, I was the point person
  22. Thanks @VMax1700. I think @loving goldensmay be right if the ship or port doesn't come through with a shuttle
  23. Discovery Princess holds 3660 and had 3460 onboard last week so 95% capacity.
  24. Cashed out 2 days ago & got just $49.15. Donated plenty to the 'cause'
