  1. Check to see if your phone has "wifi calling" capability. Set it up at home before you leave. (And test it at home.)
  2. The Carnival cards are offered side-by-side with the Princess cards. I have purchased *both* through the Rewards program. You do not have to be a member.
  3. I've done Pompeii (although it was with NCL.) Personally, I would consider it a "moderate"...and I'm no spring chicken. Of more concern to me would be the time of year and weather (temps).
  4. Unless this has very recently changed...I don't think this is correct.
  5. I did not purchase the package through the website. There are no hotel packages listed at all under excursions for Athens. There are some transfer options listed...but I'm trying to determine if these are included with what I already have. I bought the hotel stay via phone to Celebrity.
  6. I have booked a cruise out of Athens, Greece on the Infinity and have also booked (through Celebrity) a 1 night hotel stay at the Grand Hyatt Athens. I cannot find any type of detail regarding whether transfers from airport to hotel and hotel to ship are included. We have sailed mostly on Princess...they include these transfers. Can anyone enlighten me, please?
  7. They should supply the room stewards with printed menus...
  8. I had my first opportunity to use CHAT for quite some time...used to do it all the time. They have changed the vendor that supplies the CHAT system. I was used to the old one...this one works but does not tell you what number you are in the queue. I'm sure there was some kind of savings there...
  9. I *always* make our dining reservations using the "web version". It's just so much easier to see exactly what you're doing, as well as seeing more of the calendar days.
  10. While Princess "frowns" on this...many people (myself included) have done so with relatively SMALL amounts...i,e. $50 or so, though the more common situation is that I am PAYING the casino! 🙄
  11. It might help to get an answer if you shared the date/itinerary so that others can see what's going on.
  12. Yep! Just charge your bank to your room account and OBC will be used.
  13. Shhh! They will have someone working on a medallion scanner that mounts on the chairs! 🙄
  14. Yep. While we do like sea days...with an Alaskan itinerary the focus should be Alaska...not sea days!
  15. As @CanuckCurlers stated above...it's REALLY annoying to be logged into the website and trying to do a chat. Invariably you will "time out" from the website due to "lack of use"...even though you are obviously in a chat session! Just more poor programming! 🙄
  16. Yeah...but half your cruise is just getting to/from Alaska area.
  17. I have always been able to use OBC in the casino...
  18. Ahhh! I *totally* forgot about the naming! Sorry! 🙄
  19. Rudy princess cabin B751aft balcony Must be one of the new ships! 😄
  20. Welcome to Cruise Critic! Note that the app actually has *nothing* to do with the payment system. All purchases are handled by the physical medallion, which is simply an RFID device that is scanned when you purchase anything or get on/off the ship. It functions *exactly* like the old cruise card method. It has the added advantage of being able to unlock your door as you approach it in the passageway. You absolutely do NOT need the app while on the ship. Many people claim that they just lock theirs in the safe. Personally, I like the advantage of being able to order drinks/food and have it delivered to wherever I am on the ship. (Oh...that's another benefit of the physical medallion...that's how they know where to deliver.)
  21. I guess there is *some* value to reserved seating...but note that is *only* for production shows.
  22. I guess I'm confused as well...how can the month of travel make *any* difference as to direction taken. You're going to pass through the same areas either way.
  23. Well...at least there is a "body" in the chair:
