Our first transatlantic we planned a land tour to visit friends after we got off the ship. We were amazed, as you were, that virtually everyone we met was either staying on board, or switching to another ship, for another week or two. So after a few years of false starts, we'll be doing our first B3B and 28 days on board. It's gonna be great.

You can buy a 27"x32" roll-up Sequence mat instead of a board.. My friends keep it under their glass top table at home, and pull it out for travel.

I wonder if that is part of the reason that they stopped putting them in your cabin if you have a drink package. You have to get one from a bar, and they would activate it the first time they fill it for you.

Just keep in mind that their tolerance for sight-seeing is going to be pretty short. Plan lots of rest time, and also some exercise time for them. Good luck!

I have two of the original ones that were good for hot beverages too. Those were nice - but again, small volume. 16 oz, so with full ice, maybe 8 ounces of liquid.

I am so sorry, that sounds awful. I assume you have tried elevation, or different sleeping positions. Is it being horizontal that is the issue, or the position that the foot is in? After my ankle injury healed enough that I could leave it out of the night brace, I found that hanging my foot over the bottom of the mattress took stress off of it. I hope you, your doctor, and your physical therapist can find some way to relieve this.

But the price of the cruise is the same?

I have never used refundable deposit - does than increase the cost of the cruise, or is it simply a larger downpayment?
