What shows/entertainment are on Horizon andโฆ.elevators?
Illbcruzn4life replied to zanydoc's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I'd suggest Celestial strings as a do not miss show. The elevators on Horizon are great. The ones on Celebration were a claustrophics nightmare. -
Moral Dilemma: Prepaid Gratuities Not Honored by CCL

the recordings always exist when they are in Carnivals favor. If it's in your favor they mysteriously can't be found. -
Long winded review of my 1st cruise - on Celebration
Illbcruzn4life replied to ruru107's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Thanks for that answer. One less question I need to ask. lol We were on the sailing as well. You did better than us, The first elegant night we didn't even get anything to drink except for water. You and my wife might be twins as she got the same thing at Chibang. Thanks for the very detailed review. ๐ -
Are all the pools on Meraviglia 6 feet in depth?

Thank you so much for the reply. I have read post about all pools being 6 foot deep. Glad that is not the case with Meraviglia. Thanks again ๐ -

nobody ben on the Meraviglia?? -
Ok the way you capitalized โeverythingโ made it seem like you were stating it as fact. it also doesnโt put Carnival in a good light to have a policy with unwritten rules that the consumer doesnโt know about. Doesnโt put the consumer on a level playing field. Carnival also has a rule for early saver 5 day bookings. It says early saver is only available until 76 days before sailing. OP booked at the 71 day mark and after applying for the credit was told you booked ES. Again Carnival not going by written rules.

Just curious about this as it is our first time on MSC and Iโve never encountered this on other cruise lines.

Could you point out exactly where it says that it has to be the same vifp offer as I canโt see that? You will be asked to provide the lower rate amount and where the rate can be found. Lower rate must: i) be for the same ship, sail date, stateroom category and number of guests; and ii) be available for booking at the time Carnival reviews your completed Lowest Price Guarantee claim form.

We usually do that but the service was bad on the first elegant night, When we went back to the MDR on the 2nd elegant night we got put in the same section. Thankfully we only ate in the MDR twice which was an anomaly. We usually either do the buffet or MDR all week. The buffet was pretty pedestrian. Since I just retired, we splurged all week.

Jubilee 2 new zones announced
Illbcruzn4life replied to AtSeaWithChris's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
thanks for the correction. ๐ Guess Miss Holly is good to go then. ๐ Walked all over that ship last week and never noticed. lol -
they did have orange soda last week on the Celebration at Miami slice.
-
I dont think that is the case since they offered to let them add a person for a higher fee.

You won't find that on the excel class unless you are on deck 16 or above. -
Could the OPโs situation be different since the UK usually have different booking rules?
-
I don't know which ones were tipped or not but I tipped extra in all of them. Even Cucina and Chibang. They were working their butts off. As for the 2 nights we ate in the MDR, both elegant nights the service was not very good the first night and just a tad better the second. No extra.

Celebration - SHOWS, any not to miss?
Illbcruzn4life replied to Tom-n-Cheryl's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I second that one Tom. That was the best, the others were pretty entertaining except for the circus one. -
Darn i missed it. I guess u have to ask. Just directed us to some seats in a roped off area. Didnt really matter. Sat down around 10:40am sat there for about 30 minutes and then we boarded

Just a followup about Chibang. Dinner was well worth it. Thought the food was very good. Had the potstickers, lettuce wraps, spicy shrimp entree,(didnt care for the tail shells on) an order of the noodles. one good thing about the specialty restaurants is you can order desserts from the MDR. Wife liked that. She ordered the warm chocolate melting cake. Wife had the chicken spring rolls and the sweet and sour shrimp. No complaints at all. ๐๐ป๐

After all the negative stuff about Chibang, especially the Mexican menu we are going to venture in there tonight. we only went to the MDR the 2 elegant nights and the service was not that good. Our waiter was killing it but seemed like he had no help and too many tables. I agree 100% about the major downgrade in the Havana area. Way too small. The last 2 days you couldn't get a lounger in the Havana area where the pool and bar is. Glad we didnโt book one on the Jubilee. We got a balcony on the hump. still loved the cruise. Nothing is perfect. Heading home in the morning. ๐

On Celebration right now. Whatโs not to like. May1cruiser pretty much nailed it. Have to squeeze in Emerils for lunch today and Chibang for dinner tonight before we get off in the morning. Doesnโt seem crowded, shows are good. Well the circus one was boring. Centerstage (grand central) is a good idea but the sight lines are not good. Not many good seats unless you get there 45-60 minutes ahead of time. Lots and lots of comedy.
