  1. From the FAQ's: My travel partner is pregnant/recovering alcoholic/medical issue that does not allow them to drink, do I have to purchase for them? Our policy requires that any guest wishing to purchase the Drink Package must do so for all other guests of legal drinking age in the same stateroom. However, we will make an exception for the following: Exceptions: Children 12 years old and under: will NOT be required to purchase a Zero drink package. Teens – A Zero Proof drink package will be added 13 -17 years old (Europe, Asia, Australia) 13 - 20 years old (USA) Pregnant guests – A Zero Proof drink package will be added. Recovering alcoholic or medical issue that does not allow guests to consume alcohol. – A Zero Proof drink package will be added. I don't think you have to provide documented proof for the final exemption, just self-attest that you have a condition that you cannot consume alcohol. To do otherwise would be a huge invasion of the guest's privacy.
  2. Stealthdog posted the dailies in his Live review of Celebrity Beyond from December 11-18 Eastern Caribbean. Hope this helps. I'm on the sailing leaving Sunday, Jan. 22 and I really enjoyed seeing the schedule.
  3. You just go to the website and do a mock booking and enumerate through the different categories.
  4. I have yet to see anyone who is actually onboard say the rumors are false and everything is as good as it’s ever been.. in addition, the room service charges, fees for second lobster are documented in the App itself. I think people’s concerns are valid even if they haven’t experienced it first hand yet.
  5. I’m boarding next week and I’m going to sprint my way through my premium beverage package. Fortunately I don’t have a better half to roll her eyes at me. I read somewhere that Capt. Kate posted on IG that last weeks production cast left today and a new cast started today. Did you notice any difference in quality between casts? Fewer people doing a Western Caribbean cruise versus an Eastern Caribbean cruise doesn’t surprise me. I’ve been checking cabin inventory for next week and it looks like we should be sailing with about as many passengers as your first leg.
  6. Respectfully, there have been several threads discussing these topics in depth that would have answered your questions had you looked at the topics on the first page or two.
  7. I'm sailing on Beyond starting next Sunday. I checked the latest room inventory: 2 Iconic Suites 1 Aqua Sky Suite 1 Sky Suites 4 Aqua Class staterooms 6 Concierge staterooms 1 Sunset Veranda staterooms 5 Edge Staterooms with Infinite Veranda 1 Porthole Veranda staterooms 38 Oceanview staterooms 95 Deluxe Inside staterooms 154 rooms available => implies we are sailing 3260 (advertised capacity) - 308(based on double occupancy) = ~2952 passengers, about 90%, slightly more than the cruise that just finished where Capt. Kate said they were sailing at 84% capacity.
  8. I'm sailing on Beyond next Sunday, Jan. 22. Prior to all the changes I was planning on booking a future cruise while I was on board. That's no longer the case. I think there is better value out there right now. I was thinking of booking a Fall 24 transatlantic on Silhouette but Virgin Voyages transatlantic is now looking more appealing. Even Silver Seas has some itineraries for solo sailors that are better priced than a comparable Celebrity cruise.
  9. I don't think they are deliberately going after solo sailors. They are just trying to generate as much revenue as possible. They ran a great promotion starting last June for solos. No singles supplement and All Included for the week cost me $352. Given the recent cutbacks on dining and service and rising prices across the board, I don't think we will see a repeat of the promo any time soon. If you are a solo sailor you are better off not buying AI and just getting a beverage package if you think you will drink enough to justify it. I have a cruise in December and chose not to get any beverage package. I will just pay for drinks à la carte.
  10. I plan on sinning in Eden twice and Le Voyage once on my cruise in a couple weeks. Looks like I'll have to go to confession afterwards.😇
  11. My biggest complaint is that they are eliminating the choices that I planned on ordering and left the items I have no interest in. That said, as had been pointed out, I won't starve, I'm just disappointed.
  12. No, just the number of Signature Starters and Entrées. Those are the ones common to all four dining rooms but change daily. I haven't notice any changes to the Classic or Exclusive Starters and Entrées yet.
  13. I posted about X reducing the number of Signature Starters and Entrées to three each last Wednesday. MDR Reduced Menu
  14. If your big reveal is that they are reducing the number of Celebrity Signature Starters and Entrées in the MDR, that's already been posted and can be verified by looking at the menus for Beyond's current itinerary.
  15. That's why I added "As Jelayne points out in the link there are a list of exemptions to the requirement that both persons purchase an Alcoholic beverage package" The line about him claiming to be pregnant was just my lame excuse of a joke, hence the smiley face.
  16. Short answer, yes he can purchase the Zero proof package, he just has to claim that he's pregnant. 😀 As Jelayne points out in the link there are a list of exemptions to the requirement that both persons purchase an Alcoholic beverage package but he must purchase the zero proof package in lieu of one. You just have to request it, I doubt they will require documented proof of one of the exemptions as that would be a huge invasion of the customer's privacy.
  17. For the folks that read the boards regularly (daily or every few days) there was about a 4 or 5 day window when someone spotted the increase in prices in the FAQs before the change actually took place. I was able to upgrade at the old price saving about $36 for the upgrade for the week. Sometimes it pays to read the boards regularly. There was also the premium WiFi upgrade that was $9.99 per package rather than per day and several people jumped on it and have reported back that the upgrade was honored. CruiseCritic was where I found out about the Solo Sailor promo last summer that literally saved me hundreds off the price of my cruise.
  18. At least on Beyond the prime rib and the beef Wellington are no longer served in the MDR. Check out the menus for Beyond listed in the app for the current itinerary. They are eliminating Starters and Entrés including the prime rib, Beef Wellington Celebrity Signature Crab Cakes and several fish entrees.
  19. It used to be. With all the changes that have taken place in the past week or two, who knows what will happen going forward. Unless they change the machines in OVC and the Mast Grill I don't see how they could charge for it without stationing an attendant next to each machine. They did offer 4 kind of juice/non-carbonated beverages in the drink dispenser in OVC that changed from meal to meal.
  20. With Celebrity eliminating 40% of the choice for starters and Entrées (going from 5 choices each to 3 choices each) and keeping the pasta and chicken dishes preferentially to the more expensive items makes me more reluctant to book future cruises. I'm sailing on Beyond on Jan. 22 and the new changes will be fully in effect. I will have to see how the reduced dining experience compares to previous cruises.
  21. $6 to $565 depending on what you drink. You can download the Celebrity App and select the ship you are interested in and pick the current itinerary and then looks in the Dinining > Bars & Lounges subsection.
  22. They have just eliminated at least eight Starters or Entrées I was planning to order. That count may go up when I see what they are eliminating from Standardized Menus 3 & 7. I hugely disappointed with Celebrity right now.
  23. I was looking at the current menus for Beyond on the Jan. 3 -8 cruise and indeed the number of Signature Starters and Entrées has gone from five choices each to three choices each. I'm super disappointed. They eliminated the Crispy Thai Beef Spring Rolls, one of my favorites. Also Prime Rib, Crab Cakes and several other favorites. I've been tracking the menus since July and had all my meal planned out based on the menus they used for the last six months.
  24. Hey, I resemble that remark except that I'm ultra slumming Inside.
  25. Celebrity finally posted the menus for Beyond for the Jan. 3 -8 cruise. I was going through the menu and I notice that the Broiled Lobster Tail had a "$" after it. I have not seen that before. I guess the days of free multiple Lobster tails is a thing of the past.
