  1. enclosed with glass on the bottom, permanently open on top.
  2. I would book what you want now. If the price goes down you can cancel and rebook up until two days before the cruise.
  3. I'm not sure how any of us not on that current sailing could offer anything other than speculation so sure it's possible he was in training.
  4. I booked the Specialty Dining Trio package for my upcoming cruise. (Two dinners and a lunch) I also separately booked a fixed reservation for Lawn Club Grill on a particular night and time because I wanted to be there for the sunset sail away from Cozumel and I know how difficult it can be to get decent time when booking a package. Do you think they will allow me to convert my LCG reservation to be part of the package and refund the separate prepaid reservation? If they don't then I'll just use it for an additional night in Murano.
  5. Too bad, I was considering them for a 4 day West Coast repositioning cruise booked last minute if the price dropped below my admittedly low target. Now, I'll have to look at other lines. If this becomes an industry practice then I'll look to other land based vacations. Vacation dollars are fungible and can be spent on other interests but sailing with empty cabins is revenue lost forever. The passengers can play this game just as well as the cruise lines. As far as last minute deals over New Years flexibility is the key but don't expect anything really low. Check out cruiseplum for last minute deals. They aren't a travel agent just an info service.
  6. X does periodic Flash Sales of as much as 50% off on beverage packages and WiFi but it's never all itineraries, just select sailings. I got 50% off both at the end of June for my Reflection cruise in December but have yet to see a decent sale for my Fall 24 transatlantic crossing. I'm not worried though as it's still a year away.
  7. I just went back and looked at my daily planner for embarkation day and Raw on 5 was open.
  8. Le Grand Bistro is usually open for lunch everyday, $30 plus gratuity. Raw on 5 wasn’t open on embarkation day on my January Beyond cruise.
  9. If you buy a beverage package X will charge you 20% gratuity at the time you purchase the package. As long as you stay within the limit of the package there is no additional charge when you consume the drink. If the drink is over the per drink cost limit $10 or $17 depending on your package you pay the overage plus 20% gratuity. Limits are a little higher where VAT is charged.
  10. I sailed on Beyond last January and ate at Eden twice and Le Voyage once. I enjoyed Eden so much more than Le Voyage that I ate there an unplanned third night. I also agree with zitsky's remarks about Le Voyage being dark and gloomy.
  11. I've been closely following the MDR menus for Reflection in preparation for my upcoming cruise. I recorded the entire weeks menus on Day 1 for the current cruise.( I've been doing this for several weeks now) I've then been re-checking the menus daily and the Executive Chef has been making modifications to the menus as recently as of the day of service, adding additional entrées or appetizers or substituting out items. You can never fully trust the menu until you sit down at the table.
  12. I was able to purchase Premium WiFi for $17.99 pppd and Classic Beverage Package for $43.99 + 20% gratuity pppd during a 50% off flash sale. I'm a solo sailor and X wants to charge me $981 for All Included on a six night cruise (that also included $18 pppd Crew Appreciation at the time), so waiting for a flash sail I was able to get Drinks, Premium WiFi and Gratuities for $532.62 (about ~$89 pppd) That saved me $450.
  13. I've been following this thread as well as reviewing the MDR menus in the app since I will be sailing Reflection in December and it appears the Executive Chef is making daily modification to the standardized menus adding additional appetizers or entrees as recently as of the day of service. Both day 3 and day 4 menus are slightly different than the menus posted on day 1, improvements in my opinion. I hope the preparation and presentation is improving from recent weeks. Maybe all the complaints are having some effect.
  14. I got a feeling I'm going to say "Me too" in about 72 hours so let me be the first to say it. Me Too!
  15. If you get a chance please post copies of the Daily Planner. Thanks
  16. I purchased premium WiFi for $17.99 per day for my December 3, 2023 Reflection cruise during a flash sale. There haven't been any decent flash sales for my Fall `24 transatlantic crossing on APEX yet so I'm waiting for a flash sale before purchasing.
  17. I received the survey also and submitted my responses. I don't expect to see any changes from this.
  18. In the past the next round of transatlantic cruises would be announced late November/early December but with new management and the way they keep changing the schedule, who knows. They recently canceled several 2024 transatlantic cruises(Beyond, Apex twice) so even when they do announce the schedule make sure you get good independent trip insurance.
