  1. Depends on the phone. For some crazy reason - probably to maximize $$ - Verizon wants to force calls on their network. The easiest ways around this are to turn off the location of for those that travel use TMobile. Data and texting included on most plans in 160 countries and calling inexpensive.
  2. I suspect the problem was not Celebrity but the tour operator who combined the groups to save some $$. Glad you got a refund.
  3. It varies depending on sea days. Wondering does it make a difference as which nights are evening chic for packing?
  4. iHealth is the test distributed for free by the US Government. Go online at covid.gov/tests to order. They will send you tests.
  5. I had same issue. Thus cleared cookies and browsing history. Deleted the app. Turned off and restarted my computer. All was then good.
  6. You have heard the same thing by pretty much everyone. My DW was treated for cancer just before Covid. Her oncologist suggested she try to avoid situations where there were large numbers of people for at least 6 months. Am sure she would offer the same advice today. Thus that year we went camping in the US instead of a planned trip to Scotland.
  7. If you are from the US why not just get your second booster. Easily available.
  8. I think you will find that passenger loads have increased significantly in the last 45 days. Friends recently sailed on Apex with about 2500. A thread on Summit suggested 1700. Accounting for quarantine cabins held back and CWC last minute cancellations that looks pretty full to me. Especially with the continuing issue of getting crew visas.
  9. Jim is correct. Got an email 75 days out for my upcoming cruise. Have gotten emails usually at 21 days and sometimes no emails at all. It likely depends on the specific cruise and if X thinks they can generate extra dollars as their cost for an OV and Concierge passenger is almost the same. I have received acceptance as much as a week before sailing and as little as the day before.
  10. And don't forget the thousands of people who do an antigen test, test positive and simply stay home. They are never included in the numbers. As for death rates being down, Dr Bonnie Henry who heads BC Canada medical said three factors for lower death rates. First is better treatment options. Second is the current varient is USUALLY milder. Third (a bit scary to me) is many of those that are the weakest have passed in the last 2 years. FWIW hospitalized numbers are not dropping as much as one would predict using statistics in many areas.
  11. You will need to check things out. Luggage shippers like ShipGo provided great service, but have not seen them resuming service since they shut with Covid.
  12. To the poster that wants just a 1 Euro coin. Am sure someone at customer services will trade or give them one or ask at the Meet and Greet.
  13. WiFi on Summit is dependent on both the position of the ship - above 45S or N latitude or many areas in the ocean - and how many people are using it. With lots on it gets very slow on all ships
  14. Hopefully everyone compares. Not paying today is often the only real benefit. However, the ability to cancel and change in the coming months might be excellent today. Many airlines are not releasing schedules almost a year ahead. Either way you can expect changes in your scheduled flights.
  15. Why would the situation be different on Beyond? Reportedly they are a bit more fully staffed so MDR meals, access to internet, calls, movies etc would be expected. The question is more about if you are flexible in dealing with "bumps in the road ". There are likely to be a few traveling today - both large and small.
  16. Just repeating exactly what the OP said. As one who had grandparents that experienced hatred in Europe before WWII I take the use of that word very seriously. Am sorry my comment bothered you.
  17. It depends. I note many countries like Iceland use cards for everything from taxis, to coffee and admissions. Friends reported never using cash.
  18. Carol. First think you for a good chuckle. We often have received a "premium" priced wine with our classic package. To clarify - you are saying there was NO wine on board priced at over $9 a glass that Celebrity would pour using your premium package? Or do you really mean you wanted a specific wine which was out of stock? Very different. As has been said over and over and over; today people need to be flexible when they travel or best to not travel.
  19. You certainly spent a lot of time and energy getting something that could have been sorted at checkin in a minute or two. Just bring a copy of your cruise history.
  20. Then why are you on a cruise today. Sort of the same as grocery shopping on a Friday afternoon or going to see a movie. My TA told me be flexible or stay home. Think it was good advice. Hatred is an very terrible thing. I hope you were just uncomfortable. Much better.
  21. People cancel. TAs release cabins (some not until 7 days before cruise) and lines block cabins for quarantine
  22. Try an advanced search. You thus don't need to read thousands of posts. Works great. Celebrity is very clear about accepting them and provides exactly what is required.
  23. Water on board ship is tested daily and has almost zero salt. When it comes from the desalinationator they actually add minerals because it is distilled water. Jim is correct that food on board is saltier that we have at home along with people adding more salt at the table.
  24. Strange this is still commented about. Cruises out of or porting in many countries collect passports to facilitate immigration rules. While a bit picky, you are not surrendering your passport as it is returned to you. They interestingly in my experiences (Montenegro, Greece, Falkland Islands) the immigration staff from the countries came on board the ship. The passports never left the office where they were secured.
