  1. As a newer member ofCruise Critic, would your post reach more people on that specific cruise on your roll call?
  2. Certainly understand your concerns in what us apparently fairly heavy weather. Obviously have idea what would cause a power outage, but the list is long including issues with contaminated fuel, power surges and equipment failure. Beyond the power outages are there other problems that were caused by an older ship? Your title suggests that things are dirty/rusty etc.
  3. Suggest you will find your answer in the cabin sticky above. Look at your cabin, adjacent cabins and cabins in the same class of ship. Thousands of reviews there
  4. Olympics - No. Insignificant compared to the relative interest rates of the US and the EU, Ukraine and other World events. Predicting exchange rates is sort of like gambling. No way to predict moves.
  5. You already know the answer. Should you be able to make a 12:30 flight? Yes. Probably 90%+ of the time. Then try listing things that could happen. Ship is late, delay in disembarking, traffic issues en route, delay at passport control or customs (UK not in EU any longer), labor issue, weather. No idea of your final destination that day, but my general rule of thumb is if I need to ask about having enough time. I don't.
  6. Why the apprehension? As long as you are not going crazy far from the ship and are dealing with a reputable operator a private excursion can offer a better and more personal experience. The question to ask (if not on the operator website) is what happens if the ship does not port or there are other changes. Most operators will simply cancel or reschedule. If not - go elsewhere.
  7. On two cruises we were are to set up the same time each evening once we were on board. Same table and servers. Unable to schedule before boarding.
  8. Slippers? Also one size fits some! DW could put both feet in one slipper and my much larger feet would need a slipper extender. LOL We bring a pair of beach sandals
  9. Princess never calls me for anything. I get emails about promos. Nothing else. My TA handles things and provides cabins in their group block that on my upcoming cruise was $500 less than the rate through my CVP.
  10. IT people are not very logical. Good news is on things like internet two thoughts. First, If the price is the same after you board and it is available for purchase then why logically would anyone go through the hassle of buying pre cruise and getting OBC? Second, on most cruises there are several ports with free wifi. Do we really need internet 24/7?
  11. On itinerary changes shore excursions booked thru Proncess will be either moved or canceled. You are responsible if a private excursion.
  12. Are you asking if the details are shown on my booking confirmation from Princess? Not on mine. I purchased Plus. No breakdown.
  13. More than about 60 days out TAs can still sell out of their group block. X days before the cruise, unsold cabins revert to the cruiseline (where I worked it was close to final payment date). You also have individuals reserving rooms on multiple cruises and with refundable deposits you really do not know until final.payment date how many cabins are not booked Coral, with Norway reducing port calls; space there will be 100% full for the future. No TA group space that I ever saw.
  14. Have often gotten exactly that. Sitting in a bar take both cards and get two drinks. Later just say another round and hand the bartender my card.
  15. When ships filled up the use increased proportionately. Friendcwas on Virgin up.the coast of Norway - the ad was correct as their speed was 8mps! Certainly correctly discussed as "up to 220mps". When in port or nearby had about 80+. Again fewer passengers and on cruises like Alaska much less usage - no children. Depending on when and where the ship reserves at least 1/4 of bandwidth for ship use. Don't think one needs Celebrity to respondctona question where we already know the answer
  16. Bookings are up some 30%. Many of those for 2025. Cruises to Alaska and out of Florida area likely to sail at 90%+ cabin occupancy. You have not indicated how far out? Remember there historically been lots of cancelled cabins before final.payment date and groups need to release any unsold cabins about that time frame as well.
  17. At Al Bacio inconsistent. As said for a coffee connoisseur nothing on board will be acceptable. For a caramel mocca or similar probably fine. Coffee on board ship is for the masses and definitely subjective. My analogy is passengers and seasickness. After sailing a 14m sailboat to Hawaii and never getting seasick, have never found a cruise ship to cause me any worry; while others are getting patches or are in their cabins feeling very poorly. Same with coffee.
  18. If you are flying be sure to have a statement from doctor saying concentrator is necessary. Otherwise will not be allowed on board. Travel should not be an issue. MIL received portable one purchased by her insurance. Would operate on 110/220/12V. Battery was good for about 2 hours or a bit more. Had a spare battery with a charger. Biggest hassle was arranging for airline seating with a power point. A portable unit should not be an issue on board especially if your unit has a spare battery.
  19. Actually all of those items would have been fine in checked luggage with the airlines.
  20. We had a resident who enclosed his back porch. Ran electrical, drywall, completely finished inside. No city or HOA building permit. Was sued by the city as it violated the fire code. Police came with a court order and watched city workers tear out the addition and haul away the debris after owner refused to do it themselves.
  21. Lots of crackpots on board. They are not banned.
  22. Often coupons offered when you board as well. Sales vary according to what they need to do to keep the spa fully booked
  23. Think we agree. Princess uses different terms but had the same effect of selling cabins in a group space. Xzibit To T355, until after final payment you really have no idea. For example, with a refundable deposit individuals can (and do) cancel often. On one Med cruise there were over 500 cabins cancelled just before final payment after a port was changed.
