  1. Except if on a UK booking you miss anything you are compensated. Understand the others are more restrictive. So did you give a UK address or US?
  2. Yup. Some Covid changes since the pandemic is over according to the President. A big change in residence rules. I did not find anything else significant. Really doesn't matter as they are in effect and your choice would be to accept or cancel.
  3. Looks much the same. The biggest change is if you book showing a residence in say the EU, those rules stay in place even if your address changes to say USA This effects those in the UK for example that gave a USA address and booked with a USA TA. They now are subject to USA rules that are less passenger friendly.
  4. 4 adults in a cabin? Think of a room about 10'x20'. Then subtract 40sq' for the bath and 20sq' more for closets/desk. If $$ is an issue much better to do an OV with an inside across the hall or two insides. Think about living in a 10x12' room with one bathroom. Ugh!
  5. I am also Pearl. Got an offer for certain cruises with a 10% discount. Had to call to get ALL the specifics
  6. Am surprised that since we are cruising again the PUP still exists. Anyway since I need over 2000 points to the next level probably doesn't matter.
  7. There are usually a vocalist/guitar/piano player, a group like a 4 person strings instrumental on our last cruise, always the singer and dancers from the main theater. And of course a couple touring people that could be comedy, jugglers/aerialists, singers, tribute bands etc. Always from late afternoon going at at least 2 venues. With lectures held often in the enrichment program and various standard trivia etc. Impossible to do it all
  8. A Caribbean cruise will have less formal attire on Chic nights. Men with a sportscoat and tie. Ladies with a fancy top. You just need to provide your Crown and Anchor number. The reciprocal benefits are on both Royal and Celebrity websites. We think food is a bit better on Celebrity. On board activities similar.
  9. You need to post at the Venice/Ravenna ports forum and your roll call. All your answers are there.
  10. Glad it all worked out. DW and I did an Alaska cruise and spent 10.days before the cruise exploring on our own. To cruise today you absolutely need to be flexible. On our last cruise we had planned to spend Christmas Day with friends in Nicaragua. The port stop was cancelled. We received exactly the compensation that was called for in our cruise contract which was none. Glad you rescheduled. Just remember everything today is having lots of changes. Give your daughter a big hug.
  11. FWIW we booked AMS to Arizona last May. Excellent connections and avoided Heathrow for $600. Same thing now is $1700. When you get about a year out for your return flight check out airlines, FBC and the discount airlines. FBC may be a lot cheaper and may not. Be sure you get cancellation rules from everyone to compare. Would would not have saved any $ using FBC and had more flexible change rules when there was a flight canceled by booking direct.
  12. The biggest value of Concierge is the extra points for Captain's Club, larger on M class, maybe a desirable location. Booked once to make Elite on next cruise. Would not pay more than very few $ extra for Concierge (like $50 for a cruise).
  13. If you book on board you need to ask for the upgrade - only a location really worth a few dollars. Your reservation will be assigned automatically to the TA that booked your cruise.
  14. Actually it does if they are trying to book FBC and are cruising with another cruiseline. To the OP, remember FBC is NOT a travel agent. They are a consolidator, so do the following: check out flights on your own using a search engine FIRST, then price what you found and see what FBC has to offer. Change rules can be difficult if booked with the airline, but almost impossible with FBC. FBC also can take literally days to return a call. Last, definitely fly in a day or two early and try to avoid Heathrow.
  15. We can do that for many cruises but menus etc have not been listed since February for our Apex TA. I expect menus will be modified as Apex will be heading to Europe. Drink prices should be the same and the method by lefthooklacey or using a simple web search will give drink prices. IMO easier to simply try it for a day and then upgrade if needed on board.
  16. Maybe you missed the news. TaDa! The pandemic officially ended by Presidential order. Today! So maybe bubbly will be back.
  17. Had to laugh as the APEX TA was moved to Rotterdam from Amsterdam. We also have a BnB in Amsterdam for a week before taking a HAL to North Cape. First time on HAL - the itinerary is wonderful. The HAL cruise was scheduled to arrive and depart from Rotterdam, then changed to Ijmuiden and finally to Amsterdam. Go figure.
  18. Celebrity never had a dedicated physical space for Elite CClub and above. There were and still are events on board restricted to those members. Various cabin classes have areas just for their cabins - Aqua, Suites - those have nothing to do with Captain's Club status.
  19. Suggest you go to the Celebrity website for the ship you have interest and look. Much more than a sauna.
  20. There are several websites that will scan for cabins. They are also TAs and cannot be mentioned here. The problem is that until a week or two before sailing many TAs will have group blocks. Those cabins will not show as available, but might not be sold. Also until the final payment date one can cancell and only lose $100 so no real penalty. As said lots of categories and subcategories. Lots of effort for what is not likely to be very accurate.
  21. We like a firm but not hard mattress. Ours on Summit was great. Good sleeping very comfortable.
  22. Each cruiseline has their own policies. Celebrity website has an unusual explanation - in that it is perfectly clear and concise! - no deviations(downlining) are permitted with the one exception: if you booked air through Flights by Celebrity you can join at the first possible port. We have left several Pacific Coast cruises in Victoria in the past. We were told absolutely NO both last year and for this year.
  23. 11 - 3 on our last cruise. Agree a nice touch.
  24. Am also very confused. The plus beverage package no longer exists unless you purchased it long ago. What is the connection between beverage packages and sailaway?
