  1. Was not that way on our recent Apex cruise. Filled out the form and inserted names. One of the staff whom we had shared contact info said thank you.
  2. There is a sticky thread on move up bids and three active threads. Really simple - supply and demand. Combine that with individual preferences and it works. If it seems too expensive then don't bid. Really cheap give it a chance and bid.
  3. Where can one not purchase motion sickness medicine? Have been all over the World and it has been available from Turkey to the Falkland Islands. In some countries my grandson, prone to motion sickness, needed to ASK a pharmacist. Never an issue.
  4. Dealing with customs getting off a cruise ship is a walk by. CBP already has your passport details and history. Being Canadian you might be asked if you have anything to declare. Maybe not. You usually will be cleared on board ship in the theatre. Similar to my last 4 trips to Canada. The last three asked how long I was staying and if the car was a rental. Nothing else. US and Canada share data.
  5. HAL has a better itinerary with 14 days. Really simple math. 3 days R/T at sea to and from Norway. Thus 9 Norway days on Apex and 11 on HAL.
  6. Shore excursions also do not show because they are sold out. This requires calling to find out the status. Your roll call will be more useful for answers as to what is happening or not.
  7. The IV view is not restricted. The motorized blackout blind is great. The inability to open the window except in perfect weather is not.
  8. The rules changed couple months ago. Changing now costs the $200.
  9. You are taken to your seat. Rarely more than a minute to wait.
  10. Things are different today. The cruiselines are consolidators and thus their seats come with restrictions. So. . . unless a significant savings, book direct. Really simple. Know what you are buying.
  11. Have landed and disembarked from Tampa. April and May. No fog either time. Worrying about possible fog next year? Similar to worrying about FLL closing for 2 days after huge rain. Impossible to predict. If it truly bothers you then don't book out of Tampa.
  12. Just wondering where is the cruise? If in Europe there will be few kids. Alaska many more. Kids camp good for youngsters. Little of interest for older teens on Celebrity. My teens were bored even in Alaska on board.
  13. Over and over this is discussed. Celebrity books blocks of seats on certain flights. Celebrity is NOT a travel agent they are a consolidator. One needs to learn and be willing to live by those rules when using FBC. All changes go with the group block. And yes hopefully ask Air Canada if they can help on your flight day. Air Canada is one of several airlines where passengers are almost always booked on a discounted group non changeable fare. Unless a big savings - don't do it.
  14. Just got off APEX. No specialty slots open before our cruise. On board pick your restaurant and pretty much the time. Even Eden had openings most nights. Was told 40% of slots opened precruise.
  15. My TA usually has a block of 50 cabins. ALL in her block have bed by the bath. The answer is we will never know what happened.
  16. Just off Apex. Food was anywhere from average to excellent and much improved from last summer. Supply chain issues have been mostly worked out for both food and liquor. Just remember food comments are subjective and many on CC like to make negative references. Comparing a ship with 400 passengers to 2500 is pretty silly. Different situation. Celebrity has high demand for suites and thus high prices. Varies greatly from cruise to cruise. Quality of food does not vary much from ship to ship. Very standardized across the fleet.
  17. There are the MDRs plus OV. You had a choice on the TA that just ended. Book each night on the app and move from MDR to MDR or stay in one. As said no fixed dining so need to sort. OV has no reservations. Understand the menus on the app on the last cruise were often either unavailable or incorrect. You most likely do not actually have 6pm reservations. Was easy to handle on board. Hopeless before.
  18. 3 on board Apex this cruise. Not hard to avoid if desired by proper planning.
  19. Often they just charge it at nothing extra. If you have premium pkg with $17 allowance an $18 drink with be $1 plus 20% gratuity.
  20. If you booked and provided you CC # when you paid it should happen automatically. If it did not bring a screen shot and have it taken care of by calling or simply take care of it on board
  21. Shore excursions do have Celebrity personnel participate usually once a year. The standards are LOCAL standards which may not be the same as at home.
  22. The Celebrity App is generally either incorrect or blank until just before your cruise. The actual activities are not inserted until about a week out. They also change if it is either windy or rainy or cold. Currently on Apex - 3 young children. All pools closed as rough seas. First 2 days kids were in the main pool. Not sure why the Solarium would be desired for kids.
  23. Different on different ships. On Apex this week weather impossible last 5 days. Court on the Rooftop was just fine first two days. Yes, there were classes scheduled, but if you have played ping pong or tennis you have the idea and general rules.
  24. If you do not put your phone on airplane mode it will likely connect to the ship's phone service. For WiFi you need to sign in. For luggage delivery last week two bags. One delivered at 3pm the other at 8pm. Not sure there is normal. Anything you might need put in a carryon and you can immediately go to your cabin and drop it off.
