  1. Changed too many times to know. We have an upcoming cruise with FCCs from 6 cruises. In the past, no difference. Now????
  2. Actually not unusual. Just go to the pier with your confirmation. Drop off the bags at the pier and get your boarding pass inside. Absolutely positively not worth either concern or spending more time trying to get them on line.
  3. Italian customs on debarking the ship in Civitivecchia is usually non existent. Zero. Nada. Zip. You do immigration entering or leaving the EU.
  4. Celebrity agreed they state either an antigen or PCR and that is in conflict with Canada rules. Will clarify today or tomorrow. If testing is required for B2B cruisers (like Summit August cruises) then Celebrity will test those people at their expense on board. ArriveCAN is required for each entry into Canads. Thus if B2B2B then need to submit for first cruise. Then simply update and resubmit for the next two. Again detailed guidelines supposed to be posted very soon. Phillip requested all passengers receive an email with FULL details. We will see.
  5. Passenger vessels are required to dry dock twice every 5 years to inspect the hull. When was the last dry dock?
  6. Gerry where are you cruising? If a country requires testing then not dropped. Thus it all depends on that and what Celebrity does.
  7. There are a few games. Just a few. You cannot count on any game being there or that it will be complete. I would bring my own travel Scrabble as on board games were always missing letters.
  8. I think you misunderstand. ArriveCAN is required for anyone entering Canada via anything from walking to flying. It has nothing to do with cruising. It preclears you with Canada customs by providing required info to enter. We lived for a while near the border and filled out an update every time we crossed. Only took 5 minutes to set up and 1 mi use to update Also the cruiselines cannot legally share personal covid and passport data with Canada. The PROBLEM - There is no mention of it by Celebrity. Agree some Alaska boarding in Seward and Seattle have not been good. Any confusion is the fault of Celebrity. For example the Celebrity website gives no info on my upcoming Iceland cruise. Zero. Nothing about any requirements. Why? Several have email the CEOs office. No reply yet
  9. If it doesn't sort out I would wait till on board and the customer service line is short - like early the 2nd day. It will usually sort. If the specialty dining is from your TA it will not show until maybe day 2. Bring documentation.
  10. OnPoint had lots of problems when testing was required for flying internationally. More business than they could handle. Since they were doing some 10000+ tests a day there had to be issues. Fighting to get a $20 refund probably IMO not worth it. OnPoint getting lots of business now as they charge about $15, but testing numbers much much smaller. Rapidtestandtrace.com (they use Microsoft Teams which is also a free download) charges about $20. They had appointments for tomorrow. Customer service a bit better at Rapid Test but no preference I can see. As Jim said I would try testing and use the COR as a fallback.
  11. Acculab is a great company. They do a PCR test that requires about a 24 hour response time where the antigen test is minutes.
  12. I used Rapidtestandtrace.com. They use Microsoft Teams. It was easier to download first. Called them and they did the tests right then. They walked us through everything step by step. Do have your passport numbers as they can enter (not required). Both of these companies are reputable and things easier today as testing not required to fly most places.
  13. Since tests for travel are now considered not essential, locally in Arizona the in person tests vary from about $70 to $128. They are not free. Since you have a smartphone truly suggest you or have someone else call OnPoint or Rapidtestandtrace.com. They will talk you through exactly what you need to do. I had never used Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Both were downloaded at the app store for free. Using free government tests they spent some 15 minutes walking us through a practice test. It was new to me. My DW had used Zoom before. Both companies charge under $20. There are others both Canadian and elsewhere. The two I mentioned are reputable and not a scam. Also a heads up that you will need to complete ArriveCAN to return to Canada. It involves some uploading that you can do before you fly to Florida.
  14. It all depends on where you are cruising. Lots of places still have testing requirements in place. As to testing for the 10 day cruise in November? Need to ask in October. You need a Magic 8 Ball to know what will be in place 4 months from now.
  15. Wow. You do understand that to cruise with a Canadian port you are required to complete the ArriveCAN app? You can do it on a computer but it requires photos to be uploaded. Canada suggested if people do not have the technological ability to seek out someone else who does. I use only my phone. It meets all my needs. To meet the testing requirement on my upcoming cruise from Iceland I will be forced to use a proctored test using my phone as I will be a few hundred km from Reykjavik- the only location for an in person test in the entire country.
  16. Terry - the pool water is chlorinated. Other water is basically distilled water that is put through a UV and filter. Understand you do not like the taste. It tastes flat to me. I simply add a drop or two of lemon or my wife objected to Irish whiskey.
  17. Celebrity does not understand "easy." Do not understand what information would be shared by Celebrity to Canada? Celebrity agreed that they would verify that each passenger complied with the testing (etc.) rule from Canada. Which is pretty close to Celebrity's own rule with small differences on a COR that someone else found. Passport info is on both. You certify you are fully vaccinated to both. FWIW each time you present your passport to Canada that crossing info is shared with USA CBP and vice versa.
  18. You will need to check on board. Just remember the Celebrity app and website were originally designed several hundred years ago in Spain by the Marquis de Sade as a torture device.
  19. Trying this again - Canada DOES require a negative covid test to board a cruise ship that has a destination in Canada. It also requires ArriveCAN to be completed and submitted. Sure seems like required testing to me. I am not debating the rule. I fully understand to enter Canada by flying, driving or on foot no testing is required, but this forum is about cruising. If you don't like the rule tell Canada.
  20. You will likely get better information in the ports Forum. Also remember that tour operators and tours are mostly changed since cruising restarted and the tours themselves still evolving.
  21. Or bring a refillable bottle and fill it at the water bottle filling stations for free. I hate the metal bottles. Too bloody hard to open without cutting my hands.
  22. Also know that tours, tour operators and most everything else has changed since 2019. Use Google and emails. Good operators respond quickly.
  23. Reports are anywhere between 3 to 8 weeks. Calling will only get you to a newbie agent who cannot assist. Celebrity is buried with more calls than they can possibly handle effectively. Presume you emailed the resolution department or the executive offices.
  24. Good idea. I use a flat rubber jar opener that weights about 1oz. Use it to cover the shower drain.
