Let's see if we can make this Beyond pointless post 3+ pages long.

I don't know if I would use NCL as a comparison, they nickel and dime you to death. I was in San Juan on NCL and any drink had an extra "tax" added to it, I had the drink package and they still added it. Have been to San Juan multiple times and only NCL did this.

Never cruised Carnival, probably never will, but I was on Celebrity Beyond in January (current "flagship") and the buffet was an absolute joke. 2/3 of the stations were empty for evening dinning.

I don't spend extra for the retreat, so can't comment on that. Beyond is 30 yards (90 feet) longer. It's very noticeable on the pool deck. The for rent cabana's are facing the pool deck and not towards a walk way and the sea. Beyond has a much, much nicer aft deck 15 The Rooftop grill on Beyond has more wind barriers, helping reduce wind while dinning. The running track on Beyond is less intrusive to guests not using it on Beyond (despite being a longer ship the running track is smaller on Beyond, an improvement in my opinion.) There are 2 infinity pools aft deck 15 starboard, Edge/Apex have none. There is an additional bar (Mast Bar) on deck 16 starboard. There appears to be an area on deck 16 starboard above the pool deck where a band can be set up (the beyond cruise I was on could have held funerals on the pool deck) so it was not used. Le Voyage is only on Beyond (best meal I had) World Class Bar is also only on Beyond (I had one drink there, never went back) The Martini Bar has double the seating around the bar vs. Apex and the extra 90 feet shows up there as well. The Club has windows on Beyond, Apex does not. Feels like a dungeon on Apex. The seating in Fine Cut extends all the way to the edge of the ship, no so with Apex. There is an additional bar (Oceanview Bar) by the Pizza station. Apex does not. Beyond has a special chocolate place (not cheap) in the area leading to Eden. There are still only two elevator banks on Beyond, just like Apex, there should be three or more evenly spaced out. If I think of more I'll be sure to continue to add to the tread 🙂

Beyond

The price went up when Celebrity started raising prices on basically everything. I was thinking about doing it for my 1/15/23 Beyond cruise when is was $100 for basic and $130 for premium. The price almost doubled so Celebrity made the decision very easy, No Thanks.

The ship turned around last night by the Keys and just left port Miami about 30 minutes ago.

Can't seem to find any info on when the last day prior to cruise I can add the 2nd Sailor information. I assume it's around final payment date, but my cruise was paid with credit card points and "paid in full" therefore I have no final payment date... Thanks for the help!!

Seems weird that CC readers voted this way based on the way I see the CC boards. For example, on the Celebrity boards it seem VERY busy with non stop comments about EVERYTHING, all with the great, good, bad, ugly, Karen's, ext.... I set up a Roll call for a upcoming VV cruise I'm going to be on and I'm the only one on it. lol

Unless this is for the retreat it looks to me to be a pretty "average" deal for a 7 day cruise. If it cost $7000+ for anything below the retreat it would be an empty ship.

"people who absolutely reeked of cigarettes everywhere" Not sure what that even means, but yes there are a lot of people who stink, not sure how that is Celebrity's fault. My 2022 Apex cruise was during St. Patrick's day (didn't ever realize until a week before we left) I booked 4 more Celebrity cruises because of the awesome experience on that cruise. Unfortunately my January cruise on Beyond was completely different. Boring, bad drinks, pathetic dinner options in OVC, pool deck could've hosted funerals.

Pier 25 uses facial recognition, super fast.

Chase only has the option to transfer to Virgin Flying Club, I did a test of 1000 points and they went into my Virgin Red account... Now to decide if I actually want to pull the trigger 😬
