I’m not sure I understand. Are you saying you are just doing a cruise this year and just doing a land tour next summer? Someone can correct me, but I don’t think you can just do a land tour. It has to be WITH a cruise. You can do a cruise without a land tour but not a land tour without a cruise. Unless I just read that wrong.

I think you are a little confused. Land tours are either before or after the cruise. No “getting back the land tour is a separate package from the cruise. Some people don’t to the land tour and just head home. But yes, the lodges are included in the land tour cost. You get assigned a room when you get there. There is a train that takes you from the ship to the first stop (or to the ship in reverse) but then it’s buses from there. I was very underwhelmed by the land tour (Fairbanks is awful) but something you must do if you are going to Alaska only once. I wouldn’t do it again. But glad I did it.

Afternoon tea is the best. If you can only get half a day, pick the afternoon. As someone who HATES the main pool, I love the sanctuary. But on the Royal class ships it’s very small and usually sells out by the B2Bers before us Elites get onboard. Mostly only Cabanas are left and much more expensive. But they do include a (small) bottle of booze and fruit. I really wish they didn’t have a TV. The is the last thing I want in a quiet secluded place. We were some of the first cruisers on the Discovery and they didn’t have headphones yet. Like I really want to listen to you watching TV! I think that’s been fixed on all ships.

And should we not expect them to be sea days like in the Caribbean (Europe to US). Will the weather restrict the main pool activities?

As someone who was on the Star Fire Cruise, I had that thought for a second or two. But the Star was in service for a long time after the event. I was about to finally get back on the Star right as the pandemic hit and am excited to do so again.

And that’s what I love about cruising! There are different things for everyone. After that review of the RS, we will pass. We just got an AMAZING Move Up offer for a RS on the Apex at the end of June and would much prefer to stay in our Sunset Sky Suite.

We booked Senses for our trip at the end of June. Very excited!! We LOVE dinning this way where we don’t know what to expect. (Going to skip any future posts on this topic so we remain surprised!) We already know we are going to do the Ultimate Experience.

Hands down the Dolphin deck suites have HUGE balconies. But shhhh! Don't tell anyone. 🙂

VERY vague question. cons: the sunset bar is the worst of any Celebrity ship. Too small. pros: everything else! We love this ship and will be on her again in 6 short weeks! Give us more details and we can help you. Are you in the retreat? What do you like to do on cruises. My experience may be completely different than yours and influence what we think is great about this ship.

Yeah, we paid for the first night ahead of time and so the suite concierge arranged another night free.

Yes, it is basically just the regular burger stand with additional items. I do appreciate the additions so that you have more choices than just a burger or hot dog. That tacos are good if I remember. As well as the pulled pork. A welcome (small) addition with more options for lunch without going to The Trough (my affectionate name for the buffet!).

The Caribbean Princess is NOT a Royal class ship. She is a Grand class.

That family problems were solve within a 7 day cruise instead of creating a whole bunch of new ones! 😜

We loved Ally! He was so kind to us. Tell him hi from Chris & Derrick. We were his party of 9 that sat on the very front a few weeks ago! They all treated us like family.

And there is the indoor pool so will definitely be able to swim. But laying out by the pool in the sun was probably more what you were asking. I’m doing the Baltics in late June/early July and not counting on super warm days. I’ll sit in a lounger with jeans, that’s okay with me. You can google average temps for that area to get some idea. But weather is a always a luck of the draw.

I absolutely hate them! Sat next to one at dinner one night (and the tables are on top of each other) and they had to film each other eating dinner and giving their opinion the entire time. It was so rude of them. Its much more than just two people having dinner conversation. Then on the Apex a few weeks ago during one of the flare demonstrations we had someone with TWO cameras standing right in front, filming. No one else could see anything. These people think they are so important and providing a "service". They are just rude. Now, full disclosure, I love the videos of people filming their cabin to help me choose which one and maybe some general "here is the ship" type of content. But many of them (not all by any means) think they are more important than anyone else. (Could be said for anybody really, not just "influencers", I admit.) If there were considerate, I shouldn't even notice them and they wouldn't bother me. The best day was when the person from dinner above was RUNNING around the ship a few later because he lost his go-pro somewhere. Sweet revenge. 🙂 Just be considerate of other people and it wouldn't be a problem.

And in the theme of the post, I too LOVED our cruise. The Apex is beautiful and the service is exemplary. I switched to Celebrity before the Pandemic because of the great service by the crew and this exceeded my expectations. Top notch crew.
