  1. Yes I was counting on jubilee which is bookable but not to Galveston yet. 2 sisters. Loft 19, thanks I'm so bad at names. Couldnt remember the name of the private area.
  2. I could afford $20k. That being said like most I wouldnt spend that much. I wouldnt enjoy the cruise paying that much. I'd be a lot more picky about everything.
  3. I'm on radiance and late last night didnt work at all ... again. Dont know if its maintenance or just spotty but couldnt get this site or any others to come up. I saw this thread and just posting a warning it's off and on for radiance.
  4. Maybe. The 9 month cruise doesnt it include drinks and wifi? Laundry maybe. 10% if paid early. @John&LaLawould know.
  5. Tonight is Mediterranean menu. If it's not common I can post it. Seems random to me but at least they arent repeating as someone told me they would be. So just cant predict. Mediterranean steak tonight.
  6. I read mardi gras gets bubbles. Is that gone?
  7. Really depends on the ship. Privacy. The new ships have a private area with cabanas. Over attentive bar tenders those who drink love. Bubbles which is soft drinks. Priority boarding and disembark and even on shuttles. A few times when tenders backed up or broke on rcl I wished for carnival priority I get. Not much but the private area some absolutely love. Vista class started the private area and mardi gras and its 2 sisters takes it up a notch.
  8. This is night 9 menu on radiance so idk. Night 8 was lobster night. I got a nice sized lobster surprisingly. I'm not a big pasta fan but love lobster. Hard choice to go tonight or not.
  9. Shaqs big chicken sounds good. I may do mardi gras eventually. Jubilee is coming to texas but I'm leaving texas, but several pay venues are free on the newest ships, guys pig and anchor, Italian and some mexican/asian name, chi bang I think it's called. I loved JiJis on vista, not free, $18 but so good. I like their steak place has surf and turf, rcl used to have but rcl charges a upcharge for lobster. I did upcharge on vista 6 of 7 nights.
  10. I saw this on allure only one night, 2nd dress up night.
  11. Has anyone had this and did you like it. I'm on radiance and they are trying out new to them menus the waiters say they cant wait to try. They are trying for new menus on cruises longer than 7 days rather than repeat days our waiter told us last night. Worth trying or should I do the WJ? I keep reading people on cc especially seem to not like the food. I liked all but italian night ok. Tonight USA.
  12. Not sure if it's been posted but you check in for your cruise 45 days ahead. I wasnt fast enough on oasis recently so didnt get the earliest time, but usually I'm on at midnight grabbing the earliest check in time. 45 days ahead is when you get the check in time choice.
  13. I've got a expensive 14 day carnival journey cruise booked next January. I did 3 on carnival since restart. Prefer rcl but rcl doesnt do aruba and curacao out of texas. I also am doing costa rica, panama and Columbia.. Aruba and curacao and costa rica will be new. I know everyone thinks badly of carnival but I wanted to see the new ports ... though now I probably will move to florida and have better port options, from texas i dont. Rcl dinners are better, but i like carnival lunch better. Guys hamburger and fries thanks. Rcl free burgers arent as good or their pizza.
  14. I had to save the name of the site to get to the log in page. Sometimes it comes up but sometimes not and I have to type it in. I'm on radiance right now and wifi is not great. Onboardicafe.com brings you here.
  15. You can order two menu items at the same time. .. they don't serve two entrees at once. You seem to want to paraphrase lol. Common here on cc .. and then yell about it.
  16. As posted above there is no clean plate policy. The policy is one entree served at a time. People next table to me did this and the biggest downside was they were full when 2nd plate served.
  17. I woke up with a sore throat. Took a vitamin C and went back to bed. Oh oh. I packed more vitamin C and put them in my purse to take. Up now with coffee and getting ready to leave early. If traffic isnt that bad and I get there early I guess I can go eat or walk the boardwalk along the ocean. The one thing I like from taco bell is their breakfast crunch wraps. Stopping by there on my way out of my own for breakfast on the go. Mixed feelings on radiance. Fewer food choices and havent seen much about the shows. Complaints about wifi. Booked 2 excursions and one the time was changed from 7 to 5.5 hours. Seems like they should email you when they make changes. .. though I thought 7 hours too long so ok with it. I got a tiny backpack that says carnival, free as a logo gift. I'm bringing it on the one to see the locks with some water. Only thing right sized i could find. See ya all tonight from the hotel.
  18. I'm heading to Galveston today, should be sleeping but all the sudden my throat seems to be hurting. I've seen the traffic warning for I45 over and over posted and reposted for this weekend. Several lanes on I45 closed as I said above. I guess I will leave extra early and hope for the best today.
  19. Lol Iived in hawaii 10 years so I know hawaii. Been to all the islands, and took celebrity from calif to hawaii later after I moved. From sea to shining sea ..helen and marty doing calif to hawaii soon, and a certain ta posted he is on the same cruise to hawaii. Helen and marty live in calif so they know calif as well. We are a diverse group.
  20. Without knowing how disabled he is, hard to even say or how fussy you are about hotels. The la quinta up near 21st and seawall was a do not book again. No elevator, and I had bugs and issues. .. even the Hilton I know folks who wouldnt stay there, smells they said. Email me. My email is in my signature. Hard to know what you expect. My cheap miami hotel march 11 before bella1 was much nicer than many hotels in Galveston and cost less or the same. I was pleasantly surprised. Galveston is older and less glitz and glam. But you can see the ocean.
  21. I'll just be on my 2 free days of wifi but ask me anything or email me, but I'm leaving in the morning. I ,keep seeing warnings I45 had lanes closed south of houston, allow a couple extra hours. I myself was happy with quality inn, they own next door beachfront palms which wasnt to Greg's liking. I liked quality inn the better of the two and they are reasonable. Next door is a kroger grocery and they sell all the things cruisers might want, from insect spray, suntan spray, wine, soda. Down from them is a walkable Walmart if you dont like krogers. CVS in Galveston is out on the main drag, not walkable if you choose a hotel along seawall. The closer you stay to the pleasure pier the more expensive generally. Uber is what I use. I park at the hotel. I'll be online until i board monday. Wifi night of day 7 probably. Sorry no live review. It's a 10 day cruise so I'll be on last 2 days. As Greg/seadog will agree, unless you spend big money in Galveston hotels are kinda old and could use some work imo. Dont expect fancy for $100. A nice hotel is over $200. Galveston has a trolley on weekends along seawall blvd might work for you and your husband. Impossible to drive and park. Get a hotel in the middle of things. It will be crowded. I'm raring to go and feel good for a change. Knock on wood. Bringing a covid test with me.
  22. Oh .. ok. I said when I cruise on carnival I miss my rcl perks. Was not saying carnival had these perks. I meant I miss my free rcl vouchers and wifi...wish carnival did offer better perks. Rcl has better perks imo.
  23. Yes your husband and kids living with you under age 18 will get your higher status. I think they share it up until pinnacle, 700 pts. Beyond me lol. If you book solo in a cabin that holds 2 you get 2 pts per day, 1 extra. .. 1 extra also for a JS or h higher, 3 possible. So yes book the person with the highest status solo.
