  1. I would NOT do royal up with 2 cabins. You risk not being together or one is approved not the other. Royal up is only if you dont care where your cabin is, like a gty. Yes if one adult gets the drink pkg in a cabin both must purchase something, but one can get the refreshment pkg instead by calling. The key is worth it more for newbies imo. Saves maybe 15 minutes or so boarding. Wifi the whole cruise. I get 2 free days of wifi and 5 drinks a day and b2b usually a turn around lunch. For me it's a pass. Flowrider is free and it's open a lot. My friends rode it daily. I had a cabin end of boardwalk and watched the kids do the rock climbing wall all day. It's free. They close it to wash it down. Zip line free but often a wait. Only tie shoes allowed. No slip ons for this. Ice skating is free but not open as much.
  2. Depends when you are going. Downtown during spring break, march 11, my next cruise, hotels are mostly $400 and up for decent near the port. I'm staying out by the airport. My hotel sold out, but must later have had some cancellations as now its asking double what I booked at. If it's a busy time of year book early.
  3. My friend booked one of these for allure 12/11 and when he arrived at the port was told a performer wanted his cabin, he was moved to a central park balcony. He went and complained and got a obc for 25% of what he had paid. Sounded more than fair to me.
  4. TAs have group rates which for me are always a bit less and the deposit is refundable. All mine are refundable up until final payment.
  5. Cruises 7 days and over have lobster tails. Perhaps 6 days but I havent done any 6 day cruise. Cruises shorter than that dont usually have them, though I got them on grandeur. Always some exceptions, but its length of cruise not ship.
  6. Idk any number sunday this late, and it's a holiday. I doubt you can get thru until tomorrow and might be a wait on the phone. You probably arent the only one who missed their flight.
  7. You only get to eat once in ala carte like playmakers per day. It's one allowance per day not unlimited.
  8. Yes I heard they opened dec 1st for jan cruises.
  9. Harmony is oasis class but has a different menu for solarium in the evening. In the tranquil Solarium, you can lounge poolside by day, and enjoy starlit dinners by night at the bistro. When the stars come out, the Solarium pool transforms into a fine dining destination with a healthful, yet indulgent menu. This contemporary bistro offers an unforgettably elegant dinner. Experience the enchantment. Gaze at the stars. Savor sumptuous flavors, and delight in an intimate candlelit ambiance.
  10. Izumi sure cut down portions. The meal used to be too much to eat but might not be now with smaller portions. I noticed on allure solarium is Brazilian at night. Harmony says its ala carte and a different menu for solarium dinner. No menu provided for harmony ala carte.
  11. I've seen people who used it for lunches. I think the only thing is it has to be used day 1 or 2 for the first use. Well I'm solo so I get buy one get one free later I can book.
  12. I just read that cozumel closed at 3 pm today because of high winds. If ships are docked, stay docked. No more allowed to dock. I think closed tomorrow too.
  13. Good to hear. We were short staffed so maybe why they alternated being open.
  14. I had 2 kinds of lounge chairs you can see, a brown tannish more upright one and the regular blue one plus the small chairs and table.
  15. The picture is from deck 10. Central park was deck 8, so I'm 2 decks up. I have deck 12 booked on harmony. I'm not sure if it goes to deck 14. When the stewards start at 8 am, you can hear them banging around in the storage, or I heard them. They come back around 5 pm. There was some noise from the stewards I heard. No one ever mentions it, but I noticed. Maybe most arent in their cabins much.
  16. On allure they are the central park ending in 29. They extend past the stewards storage which had some noise. It's a trade off.
  17. I'm on oasis march 12. Maybe we cruise together? I just did the same ports and it was 81 to 85 in the 3 ports. Colder when we boarded and disembarked. We had some hard rain one morning, but it didnt last long.
  18. Has it changed then? I did 4 legs on grandeur and WJ alternated hours with the cafe. Maybe they were short staffed and now it's open. Have you done grandeur recently?
  19. Only the buffet will be open and crowded. Later when we were on it, it alternated with the cafe where the pizza was being open. One or the other. The coffee bar had a few things to eat.
  20. I've also noticed Chops the full price is cheaper on radiance than on my other ships. Not a bad price? Wish they still had surf and turf, though I like steak ok.
  21. When I put in my discounts, balcony was cheaper for me than a inside, and the cheapest balcony was a ocean view balcony. I wish I could book, but my mom needs me, plus I still have covid I cant shake I brought home from allure. And if you live in texas, there is a texas discount. ..probably others, but I used texas. The last one is with my discounts, solo price for a ov balcony.
  22. I didnt like vista was smaller theater and comedy club but I did love JiJis. I would go there one night. It's worth the extra price. Better than chops and cheaper. I've done vista twice, before and after covid. I also got the lobster rolls twice and made a dinner out of them, from the seafood place.
  23. First so negative I've read. I've been looking forward to jubilee. I'm waiting for a last minute sailing once it finally arrives. I'm not that picky about cabins, and as you say just want to relax.
  24. Allure. I'm not sure of the difference. My friend took their family of 10. The noodle dish she said used to fill her up now was cut. Her husband had ramen. She just was disappointed that portions were cut so significantly. We were on the week of dec 11.
  25. I booked for Columbia for 27.99. I cant take a taxi most places solo for that. Originally 44.99. I booked some 30% off very cheap last sept. Seems to vary by date. Sometimes lately rcl sales when they are that cheap I book rather than mess with a taxi. Imo rcl is slanting toward excursions where you spend money. They only had 3 to the locks for Panama, top was $99., with 35%. Half a day at the locks and half in some city sightseeing and eating, spending money. We were disappointed none spend the whole day seeing the locks. Carnival on the other hand does offer a whole excursion seeing the locks for a much higher $169. Rcl seems to be aiming more toward cheap ones where you spend $$$, but gets you off the ship cheap. My $27.99 columbia excursion takes me to old town to some emerald museum. And to see jewelry. I wanted to see old town specifically so signed up. Rcl has changed since covid what's offered. I see it as a divergence. If I can get excursions for under $30 I like I'll buy. Buying for all 5 new carnival ports would cost me more than I want to spend. I'll go private. It also makes a small difference that rcl offers me 2 free days of wifi and 5 free drinks a day. I like carnival but it's not the value for me it used to be. I just booked 8 day harmony inside balcony for under 1k oct 2024. I cant book carnival dream 8 day under 1k. Carnival makes it hard to choose when their prices are higher and less included.
