  1. I havent seen any. The partial from tampa is one of the partial .. just I figure it would cost more to get to tampa from texas than just buy the excursion .. but it does have some other nice ports. Misses the B lf ABC issues. I cant wait. So far away. Roll call passed 100 long time ago, it's very popular from texas.
  2. My carnival dream goes to colon Panama and is not a partial transit. I have been asked but cant find information how much carnival charges for the big excursion all day to the locks. Rcl does one for about $189. If anyone knows carnival price I'm asking. I asked on the oct roll call for this year but no answer. Mine isnt until jan 2024 so of course excursions arent posted. I'm trying to be a idea how much excursions will cost. I also have costa Rica and Columbia and aruba and curacao ...lol and jamaica. Going to cost a lot for excursions .. I'm especially interested in the locks. We had a lot of back n forth on our roll call where people were confused. For sure not partial but some thought otherwise
  3. If I bought planner stuff and then cancelled, I would go in before I cancelled the cruise and cancel the planner stuff first. Save cancel emails. I hope you can go.
  4. If you are flying into ft Lauderdale I'd stay in ft Lauderdale and SAS can shuttle you to POM. I'm flying into miami though now I wish for less money I'd picked to fly into ft Lauderdale direct. I'm at a miami airport hotel which wouldnt make sense for you. Depends when you will be there. Mine is march 12 the top of spring break. Everyone staying downtown miami near the port is paying $300 ish for my date. Sept easy, middle of spring break not so much. Consider when you will be there. Downtown miami is fun but costly.
  5. It's not available for 1 or 2 pax. That's why I was booked on deck 9 aft. But yes it's nice but 3 pax is required unless it's open after its released near cruise date.
  6. Deck 8 or 9 would be quiet. I like toward the aft. I had the corner aft on deck 9 but I doubt it's open. Hard to book.
  7. I'm going sept 18, grand cayman and jamaica and cozumel on liberty out of Galveston. Got changed twice so let's hope no hurricanes to reroute us.
  8. parsnip puree (predictably good) you can have my parsnip ... thanks. And my lamb.
  9. Ok I see the 6 nights. Idk if lobster or not. Might be like carnival, 7 nights and longer. No milkshakes at ben and Jerry's I've seen. By the coffee. My last they used cups for the ice cream and not cones. Ran out. Dinner was better and also the WJ buffet. Jewel is small and not as many food choices let's be honest. I would order a martini in the diamond lounge, but I'm diamond. Idk which bar. I actually did jewel and loved the glass elevators, very pretty. We didnt drink much.
  10. Yep my 14 day carnival dream no test required. My 10 day rcl radiance still requires a test. Anything 10 days and longer. Yes when when rcl follow carnival .. except maybe I dont really have to test? People are confused by the self testing lol. Very confusing. Doesnt say proctored.
  11. How long is your cruise. Rcl has same lobster night. I love the short ribs which are like roast, and the pepper soup and the no sugar added berry cobbler. I also like theme nights in WJ on other nights. Their claim to fame maybe is their free strip steak in the Mdr for dinner can be eaten. Carnival new cut of steak was all grizzled. Also rcl has bscon in WJ every morning unlike carnival. Idk if your ship has a johnny rockets for milk shakes. It has ben and Jerry's ice cream and you can grab a carton of milk from WJ and make one if not. I'm a fan of the fresh squeezed OJ for breakfast. 3.50 but included with a couple of the drink pkgs.
  12. They can fine you. They can say you cant get off if you show up with a suitcase. I wouldnt want to find out if they can stop you.
  13. Been a long time since I ordered raw fish .. but was so so compared to hawaii. I asked and of course was previously frozen. Maybe I'd do lobster or something else in izumi. I lived hawaii for 10 hears so I'm spoiled for raw fish poke style.
  14. I can remember when carnival started cheers day 1, after they hit international waters. I've done carnival close to 20 years now out of texas. This starting cheers day 2 is not that long ago. Not how it used to be. There is no legal reason for it to start day 2. I agree carnival waits as it's just simpler. And perhaps also they make more money this way. Princess is going out of Galveston this winter .. see how they do it. Ncl is inclusive with drinks and coming end of 2023. Be interesting how theh do it. I've done princess out of Galveston before they left, then changed to carnival. Never had drink pkg. Long long ago. Could be interpretation. OK?
  15. My dream 14 day is a journey cruise. I hadnt heard of different menu in Mdr, just possibly a midnight buffet or some throw back item.
  16. What about pax 1 and 2 in the cabin? To collect you have to cancel but the other 2 could be repriced at a higher current rate. If you are a no show I dont think insurance pays. I would for sure call and get options.
  17. I remember in the olden days a surf n turf. A littlemfilet and a small tail. That's what I want. Included lobster.
  18. 1 pt for regular pp, 1 pt extra for solo, 1 pt for suites, js and up. As a solo I can get up to 3 a day. Makes no difference how much I spend.
  19. In chops there is I think $27 surcharge for a huge lobster. 1.5 lbs? Something i couldnt eat. On top of the cost to eat in chops. Wasnt worth it to me to pay. ..and I love lobster. I'd like a smaller lobster for less or included again.
  20. You can buy some in a store the last day and take it back to your cabin for the next leg .. easier and then you are sure.
  21. Or those in ovs royal up and free up more cabins. I'd bet they will have a ov for you. Its extremely rare not to get what you booked.
  22. Clearly texas has no such law about unlimited drink pkg. The above cruiser is correct about limited brands from texas. If there was such a law then rcl couldnt have a unlimited pkg which is good the minute you board in Galveston. Carnival used to allow the pkg once they cleared international waters. My guess is the booze from texas costs more and carnival doesnt want to cover the cost. They had people all the time here on cc suggesting save some money and wait for day 2 to buy cheers. You just dont remember how carnival used to do it. It's been fairly recent cheers started day 2. Maybe carnival got tired of the headache of people trying to save money. So changed it to day 2. If other cruiselines can do drink pkgs when you board ... its carnival choosing not to. There is no texas law that only applies to carnival..it is true rcl has limited brands when you board, but your drink pkg is good. Rcl changes it over to regular when they get to international water. I get 5 free drinks on rcl a day and can get my first as soon as I can find the closest bar. Drink pkgs too are good at boarding on rcl. Dont blame texas for carnival cost cutting.
  23. Me too. I was a fan of plain burger with the sauteed onion and mushrooms from the toppings bar. Could be a supply issue. Hopefully not a cut back. I hate the bacon burger. It's a bunch of bacon all hard and cooked together. Once was enough. I'm a no on that. .. and I like bacon, but not smashed into a hard thing.
