  1. It's the plrts, it's not the cruiselines. Bermuda canada grand Cayman. Since I'm in grand Cayman I asked.
  2. Oh well that stinks. I have enjoyed them lately. I thought they all had a steak restaurant. It's been a long long time since I did ecstasy. Havent done paradise. Did breeze b2b and vista since restart. Sorry. Hmm. I did think Mdr on carnival lacking. I'd be eating a lot of pizza.
  3. Its the ports. I was told carnival has the same requirements for these ports. I spoke up on my roll call and was told well carnival does it too. Lol. Grand cayman is on my sept 18 cruise. Unvaccinated age 12 and over cannot get off in the port. I hear bermuda also has some special protocols. So you say that what .. cruiselines should skip these ports or what if these ports have their own requirements. Unvaccinated can board the cruise, they cant get off in the port. Blame the ports. I'm sure not something the cruiselines want. I think canada is another problem. I'm just mad I still have to pretest.
  4. Go but consider pay restaurants. Lunch is good choices, to me Mdr not so much. Pay restaurants cheaper prices and just as good. Take advantage.
  5. There could be other answers. For instance princess cancelled some cruises late fall due to lack of crew. Princess is the same overall company. Still having issues filimg jobs and having enough crew. It's a ship out of calif I think they cut because of lack of crew.
  6. Let us know. I've been reluctant to tack on a carnival cruise with 1 day between that requires testing. I'm waiting for no testing required to book more. Following.
  7. Not everyone only cruises rcl. Carnival you have to know the gift is at pixels, go to a bar for a large bottle of water, something else is somewhere else. I'd done 3 carnival before my rcl. Rcl was also better about paper menus. Carnival steak house the waiter gave some 80 year olds a lecture to learn how to use that code reading thing. We all discussed the menu, never could get a paper menu. Good prices but no paper. I still have forgotten to ask in shops for my logo percent off. A shop keeper gave me the discount last time and I remembered you have to ask for it or rcl doesnt give it. Anytime dining was a bad adjustment. Carnival I pushed a button on the app after 530 and it does table matching and your table appears within 10 minutes. Rcl I stood in in line to get a table. I was like forget this, it stinks on rcl if you want to eat early. I changed all my anytime dining on rcl. Post covid was a adjustment. You dont need to have waited 10 years. Liberty was the first time back. You speak as if all ships have the freestyle machines. Not liberty. They blamed covid. Still dont have them. It really depends on the ship.
  8. I didnt have a letter in my cabin last dec and also didnt know better. I should have had cookies and a welcome beverage but it was my first back to rcl. They miss people. Gotta ask sometimes. Carnival makes you go hunt so it didnt occur to me I should have anything in my cabin. Wasnt a big deal. They just missed me and i didnt know better. In jan they found me. Nothing i couldnt do without.
  9. You dont have to take it on your 25th cruise. I know a guy who boarded his 2nd got the white milestone card and congrats. So he is using the credit for his next cruise, his 26th which is his most expensive. A 14 day on dream in a balcony outing Galveston to Panama etc. Just hit it lucky and didnt realize it until he boarded. I think I used mine on my 25th cruise. It was miracle to alaska. Hard to remember as it's been a while. Not close to 50th lol.
  10. It could be a different kind of group obc. Seems there are a lot of kinds. I'm just happy with anything I get and surprised when I get some after I board.
  11. If its obc from a group mine doesnt show up until I board. Promotional obc shows up and stock, but group obc after you board. I'm always afraid it wouldnt show up.
  12. Lol thanks for a rational polite post. A few above are the usual its OBVIOUS it only applies to children over 12. Cc seems to be getting to where im so tired of those who act like they know everything. .if I was sure it only applied to children over 12 I wouldnt ask for clarification. Hoping if the rude posters above come back to apologise if their obvious answers arent correct. My roll call has kids of all ages. We want a definite answer. .. from rcl. So we will wait. I'm ignoring the rude replies... they are just guessing. Rcl has before not been perfect in conveying protocols. I find myself coming to cc less and less. Thanks for a civil reply.
  13. I just read another place that says they will be checking vaccine cards to board the tender ... As if boarding the tender for a excursion isnt slow enough. ..they are waiting to do it when we board the tender???? Here I was hoping for good news and get more junk. .. it will be a while before I book again. Just getting turned off to cruising.
  14. I have been thinking there will be more deals offered after final payment date. Maybe for future bookings it's best to wait to book past final payment. I actually was expecting this as ships arent full. I saw some crazy good prices for my sept liberty last weekend. Buyer beware.
  15. Remember they having us upload our vaccine card. .. so does this mean still required to check in. Why remove the vaccine card upload from check in? And why is it worded as 12 years of age and older? Younger kids can get off? I'm confused. Did everyone get this email or just us?
  16. Or maybe just those 12 and over cannot get off the ship. My sept 18 liberty cruise we have a lot of families going to grand Cayman. I'm not 100% sure if I'm reading this email from rcl right.
  17. The single rate is pretty much the same as a double rate. Solo supplement is almost always 100%. Solos pay for 2 fares.
  18. If you are having trouble using up vouchers, why would you get the dbp? You can get fre specialty coffee in the diamond lounge.
  19. The OP is past final payment. I dont think it matters which rate code you booked. That's why in the OPs other identical thread I suggested a more expensive cruise might sway them. Rules are tightening up. Technically this is a cancel and rebook. The refund is based on cruise length and days before cruise date.
  20. We are back to regular cancellations amounts, based on how far past final payment you are. Luckily Galveston isnt far from new orleans. For this cruise you are stuck unless you pay to cancel most likely. Try calling. .. if it's a lot more expensive cruise maybe you can talk them into transferring. But this is happening less and less that they are flexible.
  21. All of my rcl bookings are group bookings so I do get balcony discounts. It's only if you are booking direct.
  22. The big difference is carnival now only allows 12 cans. Rcl allows 12 cans or bottles up to 17 o per cabin. Wine is 2 per cabin not 1 per person.
  23. Maine or New England lobsters are what rcl features. Supposed to be extra good tasting. At that price rcl can keep them. If they are maine lobsters the menu will say so. ..and so will the prices. Not what we get free, which tastes fine to me. I love any lobster. I even love the lobster rolls on carnival with buttered lobster. ..now I need a carnival cruise.
  24. I dont know how long it's been cans only on carnival. At least since restart. Rcl allows 12 cans or bottles up to 17 oz. I think people see one policy and often get policies confused. I see it all the time.
  25. I've never heard izumi reduced first night. I'll see what others say. Are you looking for izumi or Habachi? Izumi is ala carte.
