  1. I went only once to Mdr for breakfast. I ordered 2 orders of bacon. I repeated it to make sure he understood. He brought me 2 pieces of bacon. And it took forever. I dont have the patience for the Mdr. I go to WJ before and since Did Mdr for lunch a few times and my sandwich bun is soggy from the spread. Must sit out a while. Slow service, just not worth it. Dont get why people go but glad some do. I can walk into the WJ and get what I want. I suspect couples have each other to talk to so dont mind sitting waiting. Solo no.
  2. Here is another example. Inside cabin group rate. $1169. Central park balcony $1199. $30 difference group rate with diamond +. I think $250 more without group rate. Find a ta to get a quote.
  3. lol the one where I missed the lobster you were on that cruise. See how easy it is to miss. Helen came back to the table with a half of a lobster and other stuff and I went up, all gone. Yes the other 2 times were more recent. The first time was the dec 12 liberty. Seen it twice more. Dec 12 was the last day before we got back. The other times when we boarded. No rhyme or reason. See you didnt see it either. Have to be watching the WJ. Lunch time.
  4. Just tell him it's from your pkg. Say I'm not using my voucher for this.
  5. John just asked this about grandeur. It's not rcl policy to serve lobster on a 5 night, however I had it night 4 on my 5 nights. X 3.
  6. Yes I tried them once and they were really a lot of work to peel. I was happy with the shrimp or shrimp and lobster when I saw the lobster before it was gone. They dont advertise it and easy to miss as its turned toward the grill and I walked by without seeing it. It was where they had salad items usually. Those crawfish are hard to peel .. they had tons of them no one was taking lol. You could have had a huge bowl to yourself.
  7. Out of Galveston there are some limited brands until it hits international waters, but never bothered me. But not every brand is available. Has to be texas bought for taxes but you can have that frozen margarita right away.
  8. I've luckily run into this seafood spread 3 times at least I can remember, maybe more on liberty. All kinds, shrimp, cold lobster, mussels, those red things, didnt try them, 6 or 7 seafood choices. I missed the lobster the first time, it ran out.
  9. I'm booked on harmony too, starting the end of nov. I'm booked 3 legs, and just might do all 3. Booked 2 with one friend and another friend wanted the following week so booked it too. My airfare for dfw to miami is now over $900 to buy the same dfw to mia for next spring break. Its goes up and down. If I didnt have friends I like going I would have cancelled. And oasis is more expensive next spring break than harmony. Harmony has great prices. I'm sure that air fare price will just keep bouncing around in price but it will never get down to what I call reasonable. Its extra bad its spring break in miami.
  10. Let @Ourusualbeachbeach answer. I read no price drops after final payment and someone posts to correct me that they just did. We seem to be going thru a confusing time .. My friend paid 1400 direct on harmony and I paid $1199 same exact but refundable group. Total solo city park balcony so I got my balcony discount and he didnt by booking direct. That's all I know. Apples to apples.

  12. Ok I admit I never really ate in the cafe. It was so hot and humid. I did have a few roast beef sandwiches in the WJ which I did enjoy. I never went hungry!
  13. @Ourusualbeachexplains it different, but seems like to me i also dont get the balcony discount with current sales because $550 off is more than my discount. But if I book a group rate I do get the discount and it's that much cheaper at least, by the amount of my balcony discount.
  14. I think he is talking about the cafe on oasis ... not what grandeur offers.
  15. Not what you asked but I also stopped by the coffee kiosk for free snacks. Especially cookies during the day. They had a new macadamia cookie that grew on me. Pastries in the morning and fruit and stuff. Its air conditioned, deck 6. I didnt like that cafe on deck 9. They made sandwiches in the morning might be good if you missed breakfast and those looked good. The cafe didnt have cookies. And it was very hot and humid. Not a nice place to hang out in may. Too hot. So I suggest deck 6 coffee place for free snacks. There were some premade sandwiches in the cafe .. just nothing I was ever hungry enough to stand in line for. Each to his own.
  16. None of them looked good to me and the pizza was cold. However I was impressed with the daily fresh made place in the WJ I did not have on liberrty. One day they would have a pasta station, the next cuban sandwiches and some others I liked you could grab as they were made, another night crepes in WJ. At least twice they did shrimp and mussels pot. Where they stir fried the shrimp and mussels in fish juice. Only one night had a chinese night in WJ. The duck was delicious. Yes there was a oriental night but the chinese night was different. I like the other WJ theme nights. Caribbean etc. I thought the plantains were perfect. I dont like them green. I like them ripe and sweet but not mushy. These were perfect with beans and rice. Lots of salsa. I dont like their meat patties bit on the oriental nights the meat slicing station I got pork belly twice, another favourite. I really liked their WJ choices. They did have roast beef sandwiches at lunch at least twice I saw where they were fresh cutting the roast beef and you could go find a bun I put mine on. And had sauce for the roast beef. I was very happy with WJ
  17. I did b2b2b2b on grandeur. Yes we did have lobster on the 5 night legs. All 3 of them had lobster. Despite not expecting it we had lobster night, night 4. Did not have it on the 4 night. This was just in may, not that long ago. I assure you I had 3 lobster nights. They seem to have a lot of lobster coming out of Galveston as I have seen cold lobster 3 times on liberty during lunch.
  18. yep they firmly said no return of port fees. Agree they were a firm no. I read other posts here where others got their port fees back so I wrote to ask what the policy is. I admit I was surprised they have no policy, it's up to every ship to do whatever they want. I feel they cant charge port fees and use them for something else. If a ship doesnt make a port they can decide they need the extra profit and keep it. That's why I thought it might be applicable here, they missed a glacier and no obc. Ships decide.
  19. If someone is 86 and HC she can board without the key and board with hc suites and the key. All 3 sat together here to board. Your sister can sit with the hc lady and help her board. One helper is allowed. With or without the key she can board before the others. Just ask when they arrive and explain she is hc and needs help.
  20. Since the ship is sailing out of alaska, I'm not sure temperatures will be comparable to new orleans departures. Menus are fleet wide and will be the same from ship to ship. I'm also waiting. I'm booked jan 30th. I'll bring my hoodie as winter can be cool onboard.
  21. You can wear shorts any night. I had a tablemate wear nice shorts to elegant night on liberty and not a word was said. Wear what you want. Just not a bathing suit.
  22. I booked grand Cayman and Jamaica and got Costa maya and Belize. Lower port fees. Then we skipped costa maya and no refund. I wrote to mbayley and asked why no refund of port fees. He said they had no policy and it was up to each ship if they wanted to refund anything. That since they dont charge extra if port fees go up they dont have to refund if they drop (such as what carnival does). I personally feel it's wrong to charge port fees and not return unused fees. But yes they say its their policy. Refunds are up to each ship. The ship said since it was weather no refund. We had a windy day and 6 ft waves. I wrote and here is their answer when I asked for their written policy on refunding for missing ports. Thank you for writing into the Royal Caribbean Executive office. I am happy to address your concerns and requests on behalf of Mr. Bayley today. We’re sorry to hear of the disappointment and trouble you have had with requesting refunds of Taxes & Fees. Since you are still onboard the Liberty, we ask that you please bring these issues to the attention of our dedicated Guest Services staff onboard, so they can address them promptly. Generally, Taxes & Fees costs fluctuate daily, sometimes hours, before a sailing. When you make your vacation plans, we lock in those costs for your specific reservation. As we do not charge guests if those prices go up, we also typically do not refund if they should go down prior to sailing. Also, compensation or refunds for missed ports while inboard are at the discretion of the ship crew and staff. We apologize again for the inconvenience and frustration. Thank you again for contacting us. We look forward to welcoming you onboard soon. Sincerely,
  23. I love the WJ for dinner but first night in Mdr for dinner I like the no sugar added berry cobbler. I love berries anyway and it's like crispy granola or something on top. It's probably my favorite dessert. And I order it with a scoop of chocolate ice cream on top.
  24. Sounds to me like you booked a reduced price rate and want to match a rate that requires a full price deposit. If you change offers the terms change. You might have gotten some obc promotional and that might go away. I've had some before this that were wow sales with promotional obc I would have lost as it was part of the rate.
  25. I always order 2 appetizers as do everyone I've eaten with. I think you can have more. You can go in early and order your drink at the bar.
