My memory seems to confuse ships but seemed to me like the red frog pub area was better on horizon. Vista was outside to get bbq and it could get too windy. Maybe I have ships confused. But something about red frog bar.

I would ask on your roll call as this always seems controversial to me. If the slot pull organizers card is in the machine they can gain a lot of casinos pts. Very good for the organizer. I think each roll call needs to decide if they want 1 or more.

Imo unless you have a TA with group rates your diamond balcony discount isnt usually anything. The $650 or whatever off is more than the discount booking direct, but you get it or mostly with some group rates. It's nothing new coming you dont already have.

You have to be out of your cabin by 8 am. I dont see it as fun sitting on the ship somewhere just sitting.

I was recently told I cruise for the food. Does that make me one too? It was a good food cruise overall. A few pay restaurants and cheers with a officer with fillet mignon and b2b lunch and besides izumi and wonderland we accidentally wound up at a Jewish thing with jelly donuts at my dinner time one night. Ended day 7 lunch at Jamie's together. The week before I made the mistake of Mdr italian night which was kinda awful but I dont like italian food. Drowned my salad 300% too much dressing. Asked for the ministroni soup as a entree since the menu said beans. I like beans. Not even one bean in mine. Menu also mentioned a tomato in my salad, missing. I walked out and went to the buffet. Some meals are terrific, enjoy. If it's not good, go get something better.

Ok I'm moving next year and Venezia is going out of port Canaveral by the time I move, but I see wouldnt have moved there by next summer. I'm moving fall. Hence why I thought oh same port as mardi gras.

1.5 hours waiting for brunch wouldnt have been ok with me. That's too long. I sure hope things improve...wish I was on jubilee but maybe not this week.

Every lunch in the planners of all my cruises booked next year for cyber monday and black friday was 40% off lunch except hibachi only 20% off. There definitely were bargains.. pasta day has both lunch and dinner on sale at italian.

If I was picking I'd pick mardi gras over Venezia but I dont like italian food so I'm prejudiced. That isnt a new ship, it's one that could be better utilized in the american market. Mardi gras is newer and will have more new features. I've done oasis, last spring break. Lol over 2k kids. Never again during spring break. Did oasis 3 times, allure 4 times and harmony 3 times. All oasis class. Harmony I had the best food which set it apart. Did wonderland as a bogo. The fillet mignon 3 times. It was just the best so far food wise. Allure dining not a good experience. But i would pick mardi gras class in a heart beat over the italian ship. But that's me. Is the price that much better than mardi gras? Half price I might try it.

I havent booked Icon, or Star, Star is the next Icon class. When I read they added more 3 and 4 pax cabins so they can get more families onboard so far I havent said oh that's what I'm looking for a new class that has cabins that hold more kids. Lol. I do have wonder currently the newest and Utopia who is being built and will debut after icon booked. Utopia will be newer than icon, but icon gets all the hype. Utopia is doing 3 and 4 day. Our group is doing wonder for 7 days, 1 day break then utopia. So I joined in. No argument from me icon prices are crazy. Utopia albeit only 4 days will be newer but I got a balcony for 1k. High I agree. I think jubilee prices are high .. waiting. Everyone pts to icon, even with utopia and star announced. I'm glad I'm nailing diamond on carnival in case they change their policy. I've been at 197 too long. 14 more pts. Nailed. Now if carnival changes hopefully I'm grandfathered in.

I don't know if celebrity gives solos a extra solo pt so I get at least 2 per night, 3 in a suite, but rcl cracked down on the adding a fake problem by no longer giving solo the extra pt. I want to hit pinnacle for the free wifi, before you judge me. So i started doing mostly royal until i hit it. If you book as 2 pax and 1 no shows, you lose the extra loyalty pt. I've started having to book group rates thru a TA. Sometimes not that much cheaper but as he points out it's also refundable. Before covid solo all the time were doing the fake 2nd pax. Now I'm just doing the group rate route. Some are a bit cheaper some over 1k cheaper. I do think it's a unfair practice royal doesnt allow solo to book gty. Bugs me to heck but what can I do. Ive done celebrity carnival ncl solo. Princess only with friends.

I usually have a paperback book with me I'll lay out and maybe add reading glasses to if I get up to get something else in the buffet. Its finding a seat I find hard. All the couples, one often runs and looks for a table while the other fills a plate. I've often wished I had another person to run ahead and find a open table. I've mostly been doing rcl, with DP340 25% off it's usually the best priced for me. And the buffet can be jammed at boarding and on sea days. I've skipped their mexican place because it's so hard to find a table. Nothing terrible but I notice.

I travel solo and last year pushed to hit that 340 pts on royal to get the 25% off, now I might as well push to pinnacle for the free wifi. But once pinnacle is nailed and I'm moving to florida from texas so more choices, I'll be looking for interesting solo deals. Something like a TA possibly fall 2025. I'm not that social and doubt I'd even go to solo meet ups. I read books a lot while I cruise and enjoy a few special meals. Shows with music and dancing. I'm hoping to find some solo deals without a lot of flying lol as otherwise defeats my reason to move to florida to be closer to where more cruises leave.

Florida rcl cruises obviously are just as high. I booked a TA to spain and a leg in Europe to save money and looking for another fall 2025. Agree msc is cheaper and you said booked p & o.

I know of no ports where you have to do stairs. The only time on carnival with stairs the ramp broke but you could take the elevator down. I've never seen any port set up for having to do stairs. ... unless something is broken. Miami right? We went forward and walked off easily last spring.

While I agree in theory, cant make them do what you want always. Sometimes the answer is no. They have been very tight about money lately. My issue was I booked a inside gty which I paid a solo supplement on. Imo if I pay a solo supplement it shouldnt be possible to get assigned a solo cabin that has no supplement. I should have gotten a regular inside. I got no where with them. I no showed for a variety of reasons. Might have gone if id gotten a regular cabin. I still am not happy about it, but cant do anything. I'm just saying sometimes lately rcl is so tight with money you cant always reason with them successfully. Imo they were in the wrong. They know there is nothing you can do.

Me either. The person I replied to said overall size is all that matters to her even if they hold the same number of pax. I'll cruise on almost any ship if the price is right. Maybe not grandeur. Didnt like that ship much.

I think no one will argue that royal doesnt have the best perks by a long shot. Maybe too good, and now like carnival too many top tier. I'm D+, 503 pts. I get a welcome bottle of champagne and 2 glasses delivered. 2 amentity gifts, my choice, I chose a beach bag and a box of chocolates but i could pick 2 more bottles of wine. Both delivered. Chefs choice, dessert stuff or strawberries delivered. 5 drinks anywhere anytime per day free. 2 days of free wifi. Cheers with a officer, a lunch with as much wine as you can drink. We had the best fillet mignon my last cruise. BOGO, buy 1 restaurant get 1 free. I did izumi and paid and got wonderland free. Crown lounge which has a concierge to book stuff and a specialty coffee machine. Later with 2 squirts of hot milk please and a couple of pastries for breakfast. Snacks at happy hour. Upgraded toiletries. Nice if im flying to get tubes of shampoo and conditioner and lotion. Solo and balcony discount are huge for me as a booking incentive. .. I might have missed something ..and I'm not even pinnacle. They get so much more. Oh free laundry. 1 free professional photo. I keep hearing from carnival posters perks dont matter. If I'm getting a discount on a balcony then 25% off overall .. makes rcl almost always the least expensive. Add in their group rates. If I'm on carnival I miss the free wifi and 5 free drinks a day. I dont drink hardly and tried cheers but it's a waste. A balcony on harmony was $300 cheaper than a inside on jubilee. Once you get up there, royal is cheaper is my problem and why I switched over. Nothing against carnival. Perks matter to me somewhat. It's a matter of total price. When people says perks like money off dont matter I'm like what?

I'm confused how you had $200 obc. Next cruise was 25 for inside, 50 you say ov, 100 for a balcony. Where did the other 100 come from? Idk what other recourse since you got the correct amount from next cruise. I've had a issue and never got what I hope, nothing I could do. Once you escalate it and they say no, nothing higher I know of. Mine was a different issue. I gave up.
