  1. I believe that the only repo cruises that follow different rules are the ones where the ship moves to or from Puerto Rico. An exception to the distant foreign port requirement is made for those cruises. Otherwise, the other repositioning Cruises, such as the ones from Port liberty to Florida, must visit a distant foreign port.
  2. The evolution went roughly like this. When they were not very many elite, elite plus and zenith, the event was held in Michael’s club. When the reciprocity to Royal Caribbean began and there was a huge influx of passengers at the elite level and higher, the event moved to the sky lounge. you showed your SeaPass card for entry. You were requested not to take drinks with you from the lounge, and often the Captain’s Club host was at the door to remind you of that. There was a dress code, and only elite and above members could attend, you could not bring friends or family with you. Some passengers complained that the hours were inconvenient and that they didn’t want to dress up that early. Also some complained that as seating became tight, there were too many passengers saving seats for others. While are the hours didn’t change, the cruise line began issuing coupons, three per passenger per day. You could redeem the coupons at most any bar. Those who did not want to dress up were satisfied. They also allowed you to share the coupons so if you wanted to buy your non-elite friend a drink, you could. I’m some ships, for a while, there was a hybrid program. The sky lounge was open for those who wanted to go there from 5 to 7 and the coupons gave you the option of not going there for your drinks. Some passengers began objecting to the coupons. They tried to redeem them on the wrong day because they mixed up which coupons they were supposed to be using. They forgot the coupons in their state rooms. And some called them “food stamps” and said that the coupons were demeaning. They also said that if they were in the sky lounge they would have had unlimited drinks but with the coupons they only had three drinks during the 5 to 7 time. Today, the current situation is that the Elite and above status is noted on your keycard and drinks from the Happy Hour list. No coupon needed, unlimited drinks from the list, same hours as always, same situation as regards the embarkation night exclusion.
  3. That’s quite a different issue, for several reasons—-you were trying to plan it, the OP is in an unplanned situation. A downline disembarkation will probably require permission of the immigration/customs authorities of the country you will be entering. I still hope we hear from the OP…
  4. Crowds in the sky lounge we’re not the only reason that they changed the happy hour. Passenger feedback told them that many people did not like to have to be dressed up for dinner to make the 5 PM happy hour, especially if they weren’t dining until 8 PM. By opening it to all the bars, passengers could spend the time in their casual clothes or even bathing suits and enjoy the happy hour drinks at Sunset Bar, Mast Bar, etc
  5. The indoor pool is adults only although they may open it to families for an hour or two in the afternoon. There will be no live music there. It is a quiet area with gentle music playing in the background. The outdoor pool will have live music when the weather is good. I assume you will be bringing headphones if you are going to be playing your own music
  6. So what is the itinerary, please? Thanks
  7. So many things are different now. Experiences from a few years ago may not be relevant any more. The PVSA is still in force, however so to answer the question, first we need to know the itinerary
  8. What is the next port? What is the itinerary?
  9. It isn’t a question of saving money, it is a question of getting extra onboard credit. If you think you can save money with a travel agent, then make the booking on board and transfer it to the Travel agent.
  10. I wouldn’t base future reservations on this one example of getting the happy hour drinks in the dining room. Whether it was an inexperienced server? Or a waiter who didn’t know the policy? Or just didn’t care? I don’t think you’ll be able to get a happy hour drink in the dining room as a general matter of course .
  11. first, and easiest way to fill your bottle is from the tap. The water on board is all filtered and safe to drink and does not have salt in it as some people fear. Or, at the Ocean view you can get all the water you want, although they do ask you not to refill your container directly. Fill a glass, and then transfer from that glass to your contact. (They want to avoid having your container possibly touch the spigot. ) Otherwise it just takes a moment to get a bottle (or can, or carton) of water at Cafe al Bacio or any other bar. and finally, yes you can bring a case of water on board with you which might make sense if you have no beverage package.
  12. I have never tried emailing but I have called the Captains Club desk when I have been missing points. I have sent screenshots which have been forwarded onto the loyalty desk. It generally takes quite a while for them to investigate. Right now, I am missing five points from the promotion where you booked a flight by Celebrity. The Captains Club representative said that it could take three or four weeks before I actually see those points, not surprising because of the holiday timeframe.
  13. The report of the death of PUP was, happily, premature.
  14. Still no for day one Elite Cocktails Additionally there is no coffee House breakfast on disembarkation morning. In other words, the information on the website is incomplete. No surprise.
  15. Pretty much like what you find at an airport.
  16. At the moment, it’s all moot because Celebrity doesn’t offer it out of Florida.
  17. Nothing special unless you book during a promotion. The TA days count the same as any other days, normally.
  18. Millennium August 2018. They must not have decided to implement this fleetwide, so far
  19. There should be some tea sandwiches, scones, cookies, etc at OceanView around 4 pm. Check the Daily or just wander up there. They could be all the way aft, not close to the entrance. Back by the pizza.
  20. Not out of line but it’s sadly, just another symptom of the confusing and outmoded booking system used by both companies.
