  1. That’s correct. No need to confirm unless your assigned table/time on the three cabin cruise cards don’t match. Dennis
  2. Please don’t conflate boarding time with check-in window. The time you are given on your eDocs is a check-in time or stated another way when to show up at the terminal door. Even for Yacht Club guests it will routinely take at least 30 minutes to navigate check-in. Boarding time is totally dependent on ship clearance to board. In the US that means once zero-count has been achieved and CBP has cleared ship for embarkation. In Europe, that obviously varies by local country requirements. I know in Miami and Port Canaveral MSC strives to begin BOARDING at 10:30 or earlier, so a 9:30 CHECK-IN time is quite reasonable for the earliest window. Dennis
  3. It’s also possible on the closed-loop cruises in the Lesser Antilles, as they are also not subject to US CPB. Dennis
  4. Depends on the ship. Only ships with MSC for Me installed (Seaside-class and Meraviglia-class) can use the wristbands that do anything. The wristbands used on the Fantasia-class (Divina etc) for Yacht Club are purely for visual identification. All MSC cruise cards on all ships have a hole prepunched for lanyard use. Dennis
  5. If you arrive early you get on the ship quicker and get more margaritas. If you arrive a little late you get on the ship and get fewer margaritas. 😀 Dennis
  6. His posted photo today shows his badge as YC Maitre d. He is on Bellissima. Dennis
  7. The surface lot is open now. Dennis
  8. We’ll be doing the same. Dennis
  9. Port surface and garage parking at Terminal 10 is very convenient, currently $17 per day. A 7-night cruise will be charged 8 days. Bag drop can be easily done before parking. Terminal 10 is shared with NCL, so parking in the covered garage could be tight. NCL sails on Saturday, MSC Sunday. If you are sailing on Thursday, parking should be easy. There is ample parking though. A lot of folks do park off port. The white tent for Yacht Club at Terminal 10 is at the bottom of the escalator for terminal entrance. Make sure the porter taking your bags know you are Yacht Club. They will guide you to the tent. Dennis
  10. We are 4-Star Mariners on HAL. The only thing that will get me to sail them again is a really amazing longer itinerary. With the free laundry of 4-Star that becomes much more pleasant. Also, my 4-Star does not expire on HAL. So bringing back even limited gratis laundry for YC guests and Super Diamonds would be a nice one for MSC. Dennis
  11. The CBP info is what you need. MSC absolutely permits US citizens to sail with a US birth certificate PLUS a picture I.d. If the passenger is a child without a government-issued picture I.d. A parent’s is used. The birth certificate must be an official government birth certificate, not a hospital one. Puerto Rican birth certificates must be the blue-bordered ones, not the pink-bordered ones. Also as already pointed out this only refers to the closed-loop cruises out of US ports. there are multiple other documents that prove US Citizenship so you can sail, but the question here is birth certificate. Dennis
  12. We used our CDC card sailing from Kiel on Preziosa (June and July this year). Dennis
  13. As we do, but only because it’s a Diamond perk. The difference in experience between the YC Restaurant and any of the specialty restaurants is not that great. Now if you get invited to dine with the Commandante in one of the specialty restaurants the experience will be markedly higher. 😀
  14. If one actually does read it literally the monitored home tests (eMed, etc) are acceptable. Take a close look at your eMed lab test report. It clearly has all the information relevant to a certified testing laboratory. Yes, the language has changed, but I do not see where the requirement has changed. Dennis
  15. MSC does have transfers from Orlando International to Port Canaveral, and return.
  16. Hamrag also knows that the 14-day can start in 3 ports; Barbados, Guadeloupe, and Fort de France. Often us US cruisers can’t even see YC cabins out of Barbados as they are blocked for UK bookings. We can see only Guadeloupe and Fort de France. It does pay to have a very MSC friendly TA, who can sometimes tease inventory, not all the time but sometimes. Dennis
  17. Instead of joining you on the 14-day we’re doing the repo up to Port Canaveral in April. PC is our homeport. 😀
  18. I understand that YC is the personal ‘creation’ of Mr Aponte’s wife. So yes, emphasis from the very top. There are separate departments in Geneva to direct YC operations. All the major executives are recruited from the luxury lines, luxury resorts, and luxury divisions from other mainstream lines. Also, staff are now not just rotations from the general Hotel staff, but are selected by performance and recommendations. Your comments on YC staff go along way to keep them in the YC. Dennis
  19. On MSC One does not ‘schlep’ around the ship from cabin to lounge, restaurant, etc. With the exception of the YC restaurant on the Fantasia class ships YC amenities are collocated with your stateroom in the YC area, similar to the NCL Haven area.
  20. I believe It needs to be ‘cruise move’. The deposit is not transferred to a new booking. A cruise move retains the original booking number.
  21. We’ll be on that cruise as well. I’ve been waiting from the cancelled COVID cruise to do that one. MSC does have some very nice Lesser Antilles cruises out of Barbados/Guadeloupe/Martinique. Excellent 7 and 14 day itineraries.
  22. On the Divina this week the body wash and shampoo dispensers have been removed, at least in the Yacht Club. There was a printed note in the cabin that all multi-use items were removed. Only had the Med branded tubes.
  23. In the YC the Grand Balcony Suite (YCP) is the square stateroom with the walk-in closet. The Deluxe Balcony Suite (YC1) is the rectangular standard balcony suite.
