  1. Evidently my post was poorly written, but that is what I was trying to say. That's what I get for working on my reports here in the office and then throwing in the occasional Cruise Critic post. I guess I better proof read my report. Although this was not asked, the OP's daughter should be able to attend almost every other event that Elite status grants: backstage tour, etc--even the helipad sailing--if the OP was invited because of Elite status.
  2. As mentioned before, there is no longer a dedicated venue for the Happy Hour event. I don't see them turning your daughter away at the Elite Breakfast.
  3. There was always an extra charge for the seafood tower.
  4. And if you keep reading, that's not the only bad news....
  5. Because we are unhappy unless we have something to gripe about (ok, I am speaking only for myself)....
  6. Charging for an open IV window allows Celebrity the option of waiving the charge and marketing it as "Free Air".
  7. Yes, that makes total sense. I didn't have a problem carrying all those chips because my intention was to go through all of them in one long session until they were gone (you hope it's a long session). The other point related your post is that you don't want to make the mistake of asking for all your of your promo chips to be green if you are planning to play at the lower minimum tables.
  8. Yes, you are absolutely right. Those methods bypass the limitation of the promo (aka non-negotiable) chips. I was only addressing the situation described in the first 3 posts:
  9. The famous way to convert your promotional chips into cash is to take your stack of chips to the roulette table and bet half on red and half on black and pray the wheel doesn't spin a 0 or 00. To reduce the risk of that happening to the entire stack of chips, some people will do it in smaller amounts. Anyway assuming the 0/00 disaster doesn't strike, one bet will win (and you get regular chips paid to you for your winnings which of course you can cash those out) and the other bet loses. You lose your promo chips on the losing bet and you retain the promo chips used for the winning bet. And then you do it again and again and again and again until you are down to one single promo chip.
  10. No. The only cash you get is whatever you generate in winnings. The promotional chips always stay as promotional chips and the only way to get rid of them is when you lose your bet. You also cannot use your Captains Club match play coupons if your bet consists of only promotional chips. Using promotional chips also does not get your play rated (Blue Chip Club). Quite a promotion.
  11. When Summit was first built, her showers had curtains. It has since undergone a major drydock around 3 years ago during which the all the cabins were re-furnished (aka "Revolutionized"). Not sure if the shower curtain design was retained or replaced.
  12. The whole amount is issued to you in promotional chips. This what SFCAcruiser's $550 in promo chips might have looked like (before betting).
  13. Celebrity will need to add an onboard therapist(s). I am going to need it.
  14. I have enjoyed it for lunch on several occasions during our recent Constellation TA. Never thought to go there for dinner. Ruth, it looks like OVC will become even quieter in the future.
  15. We have yet to eat at the OVC for dinner however me met someone on board Constellation during the TA sailing and she at her dinner exclusively at the OVC. She will be in for a disappointment.
  16. Yes, you are correct. I mentioned the FVs because they are adjacent to the forward facing outside cabins and I have had chances to see (glance) the insides of those cabins. I posted the photo to show my definition of a dinette table and chairs. I never saw those in any forward facing OV cabin. Also, now that I think of it, I believe the Silhouette has been Revolutionized so the cabin furnishings may be very different now.
  17. Your link did not work. Please try it again. For you, I hope I am wrong about the non-existence of the table. Judging from the FVs that we have been in and photos I have seen, I will say that the FVs were furnished better with each new successive S class ship. In fact Solstice/Equinox were the least furnished, Eclipse was fairly furnished, and Silhouette/Reflection were well furnished. So maybe the adjacent forward facing cabins follow the same pattern.
  18. We have been in FV 8107/8108 on Eclipse (3x), Solstice (2x), and Reflection. I have had numerous chances to glance into those forward facing cabins and have never seen them furnished with a dinette table and chairs like we had in the Eclipse/Reflection FVs (photo). Reflection 8107, Jan 2019
  19. During the last evening chic night of our Constellation TA cruise in November, our MDR waiter brought an extra lobster tail for everyone at our table that ordered a lobster tail. None of us asked for it (in fact I forgot to ask because I was out of practice from not having cruised since the start of the pandemic), but we gladly accepted it. It was a pleasant surprise and I presumed it to be a shrewd move by our experienced waiter since we all would be receiving our cruise surveys in a couple of days. I guess I won't be seeing that anymore.
  20. We have been getting the Blue Chip offer thru email. The code is in the email. How did you receive your offer?
