  1. We went for an inside one cruise and vowed never again, so we have gone for obstructed ocean view a few times and loved them. It’s the lowest priced in the Ocean View category and they’re on deck 8. We have never had a cabin below deck 8.
  2. Great review about the ship and food. Let's hear about the ports of call you visited. TIA.
  3. Very true!! Nice to be outside on top decks or on deck 8 Waterfront (depending on which ship) to view the New York Skyline on port side and then the Statue of Liberty on starboard side. We have never been inside or outside on our balcony during the sail aways. Always outside! And with drinks in our hands!! And we make sure to book our dinner ressie to one hour after the sail away.
  4. That’s too much burden and work!! We drink whatever cocktails/martinis/highballs/wines etc on board and not sodas or bloody diet sodas (that are really bad for you!). Leave those killer sodas at home and enjoy what the ship has to offer …. if you have the booze package. 😉🤓🥳😁🤣
  5. YES! Weather’s been good for the last few days. Trust you enjoyed your time off ship in Bermuda. See/meet ya in 8 weeks!
  6. Alaska Air does one way air from New York to Anchorage, perhaps you can check it out for prices.
  7. But two ships are docked at Skagway now - Majestic Princess and Nieuw Amsterdam.
  8. Yes, but which port in AK that you ran into issues with the tour you mentioned in the first post.
  9. OP, have you looked in your reservation in MyNCL? You may have been assigned a new cabin.
  10. The Jewel of the Seas was supposed to leave Bayonne yesterday to go out to sea to begin the 14-day cruise to Greenland and back vis some NE and Canadian ports, but it went up river to Manhattan instead so that the pax can enjoy NYC for the day today. It'll be Escape's turn tonight to dock at MCT so her pax can enjoy NYC tomorrow!
  11. Usually one year. You need to look at the expiry date of the FCCs you have listed in MyNCL page.
  12. LOVE the different pillow presentations by your wonderful room steward!! Enjoy your final day!
  13. According to cruisemapper Norwegian Sky had to skip today's calling to Sydney NS and is sailing south, apparently to circumvent the hurricane, enroute to Boston (by the 18th). She is skipping Portland ME.
  14. Sorry, I was wrong ... it's now Bayonne AND Brooklyn! Now 7 ships in New York! 3 docked at MCT, one docked in Brooklyn, one docked in Bayonne and two anchored in the Narrows inside of Verrazzano Bridge.
  15. Bayonne, not Brooklyn. ... And Norwegian Sky had to skip today's calling to Sydney NS and is sailing south, apparently to circumvent the hurricane, enroute to Boston (by the 18th). She is skipping Portland ME.
  16. Thanks for the picture … however, the larger ship on right is NCL Escape (not Joy), and the smaller ship on left is Seven Seas Mariner that had to cancel its calling into Bermuda earlier this week.
  17. That is considered as "cancel & re-book". In order to remove the 3rd passenger from the booking they need to cancel the whole booking for 3 ppl (with penalty) and rebook for 2 ppl at current rates. Don't let them do that. Just show up at the terminal and tell them the 3rd pax can't make it to the ship. They will refund the taxes/fees/grats for the 3rd pax.
  18. Yep, that happened when hurricane Idalia strengthened overnight (instead of weakening) and both ships got stuck here in Bermuda. The tropical storm winds were coming from the north east so that was why Oceania Insignia needed the tug boat to push the ship back against the dock. The NCL Joy was okay as the wind was already pushing the ship against the dock. Joy left Bermuda one day late .... she made a beeline thru the channel and out at increased speed than should be to avoid being grounded. Strong currents. 5 ships cancelled their visit to Bermuda this week.
  19. And you haven't flown there yet, right. Rule of thumb, don't fly to ship on the day of sailing! Sorry to hear that.
  20. Welcome to Cruise Critic! People need to be patient while NCL scrambles to find available ports/berths for the Pearl to visit on her 9/15 to 9/22 cruise. And they need to analyze hurricane Lee's movement, speed, winds and strength for the next few days before making decisions for passengers' safety. Ship captains will NOT steer into hurricanes! They re-route to safer waters and ports. And they do not cancel cruises if they can re-route. It's safe to fly into Boston today and possibly tomorrow also. Right now in Bermuda we're getting tropical storm winds from Lee that will last 24 hours. Lee's outer winds will reach Boston tomorrow and Pearl will stay in harbour overnight before sailing out of Boston when Lee has passed away from Boston. NCL personnel that you spoke to are land-based somewhere, not in Boston, and they have to wait for the top people to make decisions. Not quite necessary to vent your frustrations at them. If you want to cancel the cruise you may do so - yourself - and you'll lose the money. If the ship can sail, then sail with them. That is called Mother Nature. Are you flying to Boston today? Hope you have some sort of weather related insurance. Sorry, it's hurricane season - obviously you should know this since you live in Florida. Storm happens.
  21. Maybe you’ll come to Bermuda instead…. We’ll be happy to see you. 5 ships have cancelled their call to Bermuda so far this week due to Lee hitting here with TS winds. Lee should be well past and gone by Friday afternoon and making his way to NE and Canada.
  22. If you have an existing cruise booked you can apply the FCC to it if it sails before 12th June.
