  1. Are you booking bus thru NCL? If so, the buses are right outside the ship, at end of the gangway. I think they give you colour coded tags for you to put on your luggage to put out the night before the disembark so the bags go on the bus.
  2. Here are the photos: (thanks @YVRteacher!!! 🥰)
  3. Nov 2018 on Jewel from Singapore to Sydney (17 Days), yes there was a Neptune ceremony when we crossed the Equator. Dingo Dave was the CD - he's an Aussie. Great fun!
  4. Dawn’s sister ship, the Star, had hers done the same way one year before Dawn’s. That made those 2 sister ships, Star and Dawn our least fave ships.
  5. Okay, here's the link : Enjoy the photos! Remember I was the first to post the first photos of the new Spirit that had just undergone the $100m dry-dock/refurbishment and ppl on CC were anxious to see the pictures of the new Spirit. We had been on her previously in 2018 - the old one, and I need to say the after is so much better.
  6. Before I forget, there's a link to my live review to the New Spirit in my signature (Feb 2020).
  7. It was the last night of the cruise and Gatsby's bar was quite packed, and the Super Duo did a few rounds of shots (using low alcohol stuff, no spirits) for us all. Great fun all around.
  8. Well, in Oct 2017 we went on Getaway transatlantic from CPH to Miami and we stopped in Bermuda for an overnight .... we loved the sail-in and sail-out of Bermuda even though it was Heritage Wharf. Then come mid 2021 amidst the covid pandemic we were suffering badly with Rock Fever ... so we decided to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary on board the Orion ... it turned out to be a great cruise as we were wined, dined and pampered. Also it was a great cruise around Bermuda from a local's perspective - the sail-in/out of Hamilton and being docked in Hamilton - need I say anymore. And over a month later we had 2nd case of Rock Fever so we remedied that by doing Round 2 on the Orion! Pity you didn't have the chance of doing Orion's Bermuda Escape (yeah, it was called that) cruise.
  9. The May 8-26, 2024 Transpacific starts in Vancouver and ends up in Tokyo: I think it's actually 17 days, not 18 as one day is lost when crossing the International Date line. Very nice port hours! You gonna be on this cruise? 😉
  10. @shadowmeboy Sorry to be raining on your parade but I saw in your signature that one of the future cruises you are booked is now no longer available: NCL Spirit - June 2024 - 16 Day Hawaii and Alaska Combo But it is still available April 22 - May 8, 2024. I don't know if you realize that Spirit is being chartered by Lion Travel in Taiwan for 4 months June-Sept 2024, and after that the Spirit is staying in Asia. So on May 8th 2024 Spirit does the final cruise in North America, leaving Vancouver to do a Transpacific crossing to Tokyo via 5 Alaska ports (incl. Seward) and a couple of Japan ports.
  11. OMG ... yes!!! Suraj and Ali sure made the cruise memorable as we missed Greenland (July 2022).
  12. We've been on 29 NCL cruises and not once did they offer brunch on sea days even on the 6 Transatlantic cruises we were on that had numerous sea days. Not NCL.
  13. We went on two Viking (Orion) Bermuda Escape cruises in Summer 2021 - during the pandemic, and they were great, under the circumstances (we didn't have to fly as we are local, lol), but we will never be able to book Viking again due to their prices and their immediate payment method as well as lack of activities (only one Trivia during the week). Sorry Viking. Also, Viking doesn't have casinos.
  14. BTW, @TfromBC I see that you are changing cabins ... make sure you attend the muster drill as soon as you board for the second leg and make sure they scan your card, regardless of the fact you're In Transit. BTW, Spirit's 2024 & early 2025 itineraries are back on NCL.com now, bar the 4 months Lion Travel (Taipei) will be chartering Spirit (June-Sept). Since we've done several Transatlantic cruises (our 7th one in this Nov on Viva) and the Transpacific one is still on our bucket list .... guess what? Miss Spirit is doing one next May 2024. Yay Yay!! Our 2 B2B Alaskan on Spirit are amongst our 6 fave cruises.
  15. WOW!! Thanks @SpacemanSpiff for posting the video of Hudson's, Metropolitain and Le Bistro! They look so elegant! 3 chandeliers in Le Bistro!! Does Prima's Le Bistro also have 3? 114 days to go!
  16. You’re on the back to back cruises, right? You receive new cruise card the day before and you’re free to go from and come back to the ship on the Seward day, as long as you’re back on ship at the all-aboard time (30 mins before departure). You will be given a In Transit sticker to wear.
  17. I don't know if you realize that your cruise is fully refundable until March 2024.
  18. Your cruise was supposed to visit a place on the east coast of Greenland but it was scrapped as the place was so small and they didn’t want large cruise ships going there due to environmental reasons. The main Iceland & Greenland cruise go to 3 ports on the west coast of Greenland including Nuuk, the capital.
  19. The latter 2 are for Diamonds and above. WE get to experience them on our next cruise!!! We made Diamond during our last cruise!
  20. @TfromBC Hi Terry, we went on Major Marine’s 7.5 hour Kenai Fjords National Park cruise and the boat went over the ice to get as close to the two Glaciers. It was a fantastic experience not to be missed! We saw wild sea life as well. There is a free shuttle bus courtesy of Seward that stops at the ship terminal and will take you to the stop opposite Harbor 360 Hotel where you need to check in by 8:30 am for the 9:30 am cruise (finishes at 5pm). You can book online. (the Kenai Fjords cruise, I mean). I would suggest you get off ship at about 7:45 am for the shuttle bus as it goes to other stops before the Harbor 360 stop. After the Kenai Fjords cruise you might want to go back to the same free shuttle bus stop and hop on bus for a ride thru Seward to sightsee and head back to ship for dinner! We spent 2 nights in Harbor 350 hotel and loved it. We ate in Ray’s restaurant close by both nights - fantastic crab legs!! we loved Seward!
  21. So, there are over one thousand and four hundred NCL virgins .... it's a game - how many orange/gold/tan cruise cards can you spot? 😁
  22. Yvonne, I'm so glad you are safely on the Star! You sure had good flight over and had a good two days on Reykjavik. We have been to Reykjavik & Iceland several times and love that city and country. We were on the Star a year ago this month for the Iceland & Greenland cruise but sadly we had to skip Greenland due to some nasty storm brewing up in the ocean between Iceland and Greenland, and went east to Norway. Greenland had been on numerous ppl’s bucket list and needless to say there were unhappy ppl … d@mn Mother Nature! NCL was so kind enough to refund 25% of our cruise fares. Now after that we have been complementing trying to do the Iceland & Greenland cruise on the Star in 2024, but lately, so far this season Star hasn’t made to Greenland ports 100% of the time. Latest cruise (the one before yours) Star made it to only one of the 3 Greenland ports. And I noticed on CruiseMapper that a couple of other ships did make it to the “missing” ports or in their vicinity. This is making us feel reluctant in booking and going on the I & G cruise in 2024. I’d (and I’m sure @Seas2mountains would agree) like you to do me/us a favour … ask appropriate staff/crew about why they have been missing the Greenland ports in the last few cruises. And also ask if they’re worth going (after the back to back Alaskan cruises on the Spirit!!!). Thanks! We’ve been on Star twice so far, still not our fave ship but it is dependent on the itinerary. Carry on enjoying the cruise and I look forward to reading more of your dailies!
