  1. You should hear this afternoon. 48 hrs prior.
  2. On the website if you book through to the summary page there is a button at the bottom to hold vs continue to book
  3. They are supposed to call but sometimes they don't. You can call them when you are ready to book.
  4. Many policies require you to purchase prior to final payment.
  5. They waive the room service delivery fee. Upcharge items are not waived.
  6. My stance would be to the TA that I expected them to honor it period.
  7. Not an issue. It's probably easiest if you stop by the Luminae hostess stand at lunchtime after boarding and discuss with the hostess. They will make arrangements for you. I think you should discuss with your friends and dine in Luminae a few times (check for good menu). You should also be able to invite your friends (for a charge) if space available.
  8. You get all the amenities that come with the room, just not booking perks. Booking perks are drink packages, wifi packages, OBC, included gratuities (the later 2 are no longer perks of booking suites anymore). Amenities are access to Retreat Lounge, Luminae, Priority Seating in Theater (chic nights) and a few other things. The big ones are Retreat Lounge (on Eclipse it's still called Michaels Club since it hasn't been Revolutionized) and Luminae. Those Sunset Sky Suites are very nice as well.
  9. Celebrity also has the history and can recall the version from November. Even without that don't you have a written invoice from the TA? That's your contract with them (who are representing Celebrity), the TA has ownership in this mess. They may need to get to Celebrity's resolutions department to be able to get the account adjusted manually, but they should know this.
  10. Hold your TA's feet to the fire. They have the original booking documents from Celebrity. They provided you an invoice with the price at which you booked. Seems like a problem between your TA and Celebrity. I agree escalate at the TA if your agent isn't getting this resolved.
  11. It's not like they don't know your Captains Club status. Discount should be automatically applied in Cruise Planner or given a choice if multiple discounts available.
  12. I just read somewhere on CC today that comp casino cruises are not able to participate in MoveUp.
  13. And the labor expended not fixing the issue goes way beyond the value of the discount! They could also probably save 10% of their call center expenses by simply putting drink package, wifi package and OBC prominently on the Manage My Reservation page or somewhere front and center on the app like where they display your captains club point total
  14. I hope my Diet Coke is still available on the premium package without an upcharge on my next sailing.😀
  15. My point was inventory is managed so there is room for everyone. Even though there are no rooms showing as available it doesn't mean there are no unoccupied rooms. In very rare situations there are cases where they overbook a category. I suspect it's more some sort of mistake rather than a "plan". I personally had it happen to me where I booked pretty last minute in AQ. I had booked an assigned cabin, not a GTY. I got a call offering me CC instead with a 25% refund and retained access to Blu and other AQ amenities. If I didn't take it they would have moved on to the next person. I was able to pick a great C1 cabin with oversized balcony. I felt like I won the lottery. I think I have read 1 time in 20 years that someone booked a suite and were informed days before the sailing they couldn't be accommodated.
  16. I'm surprised. The sundeck has always supposed to be "use your drink package" just like Luminae. The lounge was the only place where drinks were complimentary. It seems like the executive office is unaware of the old policies and didn't really know what they were changing. Probably not asking for or taking any input from ship board management on these changes.
  17. Since you are after final payment moving to another sailing is not an option. I'm afraid if you have no proof of the TA mess up you are out of luck. From what you are saying they are claiming it's your fault. I would at least escalate your side of the story up their management chain to see if they value your continued business. Any TA should provide an invoice including what perks you get at the time of booking. You really need to pay close attention to these. If not detailed them make them provide the details. All water over the bridge now.
  18. I have also notice the obvious reduction in staff in many areas. I don't believe it has anything to do with "customer demand", just blatant cost reductions. Having worked in the computer industry in the 80's and 90's I'm very familiar with this corporate short sighted behavior to boost shareholder price. I guess it's working as RCL share price has been over $120. In my experience every time we went through these cost saving staff reductions, the middle management would be all but eliminated. I'm not seeing this on Celebrity. Bar tenders and Bar servers are cut way back but on Summit (smallest ship) there were still 4 assistant bar managers. You still see many many1-2 strip officers eating in the buffet that you never see passenger facing.
  19. All Celebrity ships have Starlink now. Calling generally works well but there are some geographic areas that seem to be problematic. We had no problems on TA but had some issues on ABC sailing for a day or so. I've always had premium wifi, I believe most say WiFi calling doesn't work with the basic included in the AI package.
  20. When connected to a wifi network either at home or anywhere else your provider will be listed as "Verizon WiFi" and any calls you make or receive will be via wifi, not your cellular connection. I know most of us have unlimited voice calling time on cellular now but I still find using WiFi calling at home transparent so leave it enabled all the time. At times one the ship I will notice that my carrier doesn't indicate the WiFi version. I presume wifi bandwidth is not suitable to support calling. At times if I reboot my phone it will re-enable. In addition to wifi calling you will be able to send/receive SMS texts as well. iMessage and WhatsApp texts will work with just wifi (don't need WiFi Calling).
  21. There are always cabins that aren't released to general inventory. Remember guest entertainers and some crew members, crew member families also stay in passenger cabins.
  22. Actually the oldest ship in the Celebrity fleet Millennium was built in 2000 (ok I guess technically built in 1999 but joined the fleet in 2000).
  23. Hope to hear more about your trip. We are doing this itinerary in March. Leaving next week for first Windstar sailing on Star Breeze Auckland to Tahiti.
