  1. I agree that 2 bags are probably enough but there is a 3 bag package which might be more advantageous.
  2. Why do you think things are changing. There have been isolated reports over the years of overbooking. Most times they are resolved before the sailing. In this case something happened and it ended up being a disaster at the pier. I also read somewhere that it happened to be all people local to the pier that were denied as I guess they didn't want to be liable for return flights/hotels etc. So if you live local to the departure port I might worry a bit more. In Nov 2019 I personally had booked a Aqua GTY on Summit about 3 weeks before the sailing. About a week before I my TA got a call from Celebrity which they transferred to me. They had overbooked Aqua. They offered me a downgrade to Concierge with a $500 refund and let me pick a great C1 cabin and assured me I could still eat in Blu. When I got onboard they had also put all the AQ cabin amenities in the room. I could have refused the offer and they would have just offered it to others until someone accepted. I felt I got a great deal with about a 25% discount.
  3. DW does milk but no sugar, flour, rice, potatoes etc. They tend to not understand the difference between no sugar and no sugar added. They make her a standing order of sugar free Chocolate Mouse. It's just heavy cream, coco powder and Splenda. They did this on our first cruise after she told waiter no to any deserts. He insisted to find something she could enjoy. That was 60+ Celebrity sailings ago.
  4. We just booked these 2 with the one following today. There is an agency that puts together great trips on many lines who put this together at a great price including air and 2 days post cruise in Athens. I called about 90 minutes after it was announced and I got one of the last cabins they had.
  5. We were in a center SV on Connie. It's under the bar seating so yes heard scraping of chairs all day. Probably wouldn't do it again.
  6. There used to be an email for the executive office but I don't see it now. Here is another contact at a senior customer service level to try. Jennifer Morales Director, Celebrity Engagement Center 1050 Caribbean Way Miami, FL 33132 jennifermorales@celebrity.com
  7. Denied boarding due to oversold conditions are very very rare. The fact the sailing is not on the website only indicates they aren't selling any more cabins. There are always last minute cancellations and no-shows. Yes this would cause me some stress but I'm very confident it will work out.
  8. I don't know if your SV booking is All Included or Cruise Only or when you booked. AQ bookings now can also be cruise only so I'd also take inventory of what perks you have booked now and what you would get if you upgraded. Now even if you were to upgrade to AQ AI it wouldn't include tips. I suspect your real cost to upgrade may be more than $450. Remember gratuities are slightly higher in AQ as well.
  9. Any OBC is posted as a credit to your onboard account. Gratuities (if not prepaid) are debited from you account daily. Generally they take 2 days on the second day (1st and 2nd) and 2 days on the next to last day. All debits to your onboard account are first taken from non refundable OBC, then refundable OBC, then will be charged to your credit card.
  10. Interior cabin size is the same. That cabin has the larger angled balcony.
  11. Yes and this may be a case were it would help to direct at the executive office. They have a team of experienced customer service people respond to inquiries. I would just outline what you have confirmed with the reservation agents and request a confirmation in writing. LBethge@celebrity.com
  12. Yes there was lava cake one night. On the Webinar Laura state they would be adding to the desert menus so there was at least 1 chocolate desert each night. What I was saying there were some nights with no chocolate desert on that menu.
  13. The policy is that drinks in MC/Retreat lounge are complementary at the Premium package level. Generally they will try to provide things within reason. On the last couple of sailings in the last 2 months I was a bit disappointed that it was difficult to get Champagne from the premium package and they would serve the bilge water sparkling wine. I looked it up and it's $5.99 a bottle at Total Wine and only drinkable in a mimosa. It was a day or 2 before they even stocked Chandon which is the lower of the 2 premium sparkling offerings on the premium package. Same in the MDR and Sky Lounges. One time in the Sky lounge I asked for Chandon and they went in the back and got a bottle and served me 2 glasses which were room temp. I handed them to the bar manager and asked that they not serve others from that bottle. He just took them from me and didn't offer a replacement or apology.
  14. Yes on the 11/6 Constellation. Many of the old dishes are back and a few more choices than there were before. One thing we didn't see was a chocolate desert every night which was promised. (Unless you count the chocolate ice cream).
  15. ^^This^^ These people paid a premium for a specialized itinerary. They got a more generic med itinerary. My opinion a couple hundred OBC or FCC would have been a nice good will gesture. On my last sailing they were giving larger FCC for chipped paint on the balcony and other cosmetic issues to certain individuals.
  16. Which would have probably added up to less than $100 pp. They used to do this all the time for missed ports (replaced by sea days) but that hasn't happened since the restart.
  17. There is at least 1 TA which I believe includes tips as part of the amenities they add along with a smaller amount of OBC. These come from the TA, not Celebrity. I'm pretty sure that any group space not named by the end of October reverts to the new AI rules. As far as the MoveUp question. Elite Plus gets a 4% bonus added to their bid. If they bid $100 pp it's considered a $104 bid when compared to other bidders.
  18. If you don't see a charge on your CC I'd say very unlikely.
  19. And all this could have been avoided if they just said. "With sailings starting Jan 1, 2024 the following changes will be in effect." Or whatever start date they wanted at least 90 days out so people had the choice to cancel if they wished.
  20. Just be aware the Summit had a full 80 mil Revolution where all staterooms were gutted to the bare walls and refurbished. This has not been done on Connie, the staterooms are feeling the wear of 20 years of service. Some of the public spaces have had some of the touches of Summit but just have your expectations set correctly or you will be disappointed.
  21. Here is the current B2B flyer which states $50 for 3 nights and longer $100 for 10 nights and longer. It does state it excludes Exciting Deals (which I don't think it should). https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/General_Info/Flyers/CEL_Back_to_Back_Offer_Flyer.pdf
