  1. Connie is doing a dry dock right after the spring TA. I think it's just over 2 weeks. Time for the mechanical inspections etc. Not enough time for any substantial refresh. Probably some new carpet and upholstery in the common areas, maybe finish changing the bedding (if it is in storage from the cancelled Revolution). We were on 38 days in April/May and will be on again in March for the TA. We love the more classic feel. It's certainly not new and shiny.
  2. @sasset If you have a minute could you send me an email at wrk2cruise at gmail.com. I'd like to ask a private question about something onboard.
  3. I think the best thing on the Premium beverage package by the glass right now is M. Haslinger & Fils Brut. That's what was on Summit last week and have heard it's what's available on other ships as well.
  4. Thanks for the support. I'm over it now. I'm rebooked on the Delta flight the next day (36 hrs later) at the same price. I might have considered going this route however I booked through my credit card portal using CC points so can't deal with the airlines directly. As it was it took hours to just get rebooked. The flight was priced in XFP so I'm sure the EU rules would apply. Luckly I checked my Delta account before I hung up the phone as the original flights were Premium Economy, when they rebooked they only did Comfort+, the TA had to call Delta back and get the waiver updated to Premium Economy. The current prices are over $1k more than I paid. Now I'm just waiting for Windstar. When my TA called to price the hotel extension he was told they couldn't make changes to the reservation as Windstar was in the process of changing the sailing and he was supposed to get a letter later today. It's after final payment and last week got an itinerary change so I'm hoping that's all it is.
  5. I guess I'm the bad guy here. I asked for a good will gesture. Did I expect them to do anything NO. That's just the state of things these days. You commit to something in good faith with your $$ then things change and the customer is left holding the bag. Done.
  6. I heard from someone onboard that the cover charge increased to $70 pp + 20% last week.
  7. But wait didn't they try Version 2 in Eden on the Edge when it was launched. Creepy people wandering around.
  8. Thank you for supporting the airline that has been holding several thousand dollars for many months. I paid a significant up-charge for refundable tickets for ME to have the ability to cancel, but I guess they get to do it at no cost to them. Yes I understand it's in the contract.
  9. They are basically in charge of the customer service aspect. The Front Desk Manager, Concierge Team also report to him/her. Maybe Future Cruises to some extent but they also get lots of direction direct from Miami. The front desk agents all report to the Front Desk Manager. I've been amazed at the bloat of the middle managers (1-2 stripe) in the last several years. You see them all over and rarely are they directly interacting with passengers. (4 assistant bar managers is one example). In the current environment of cost cutting it seems that the customer facing positions are being reduced but these positions remain. In my years in the IT industry when things got tight the middle management layers were hit hardest often removing entire layers.
  10. I agree escalation direct to the CEO is the wrong route to take until you have gone through the normal process which in this case the OP did and got things resolved. Now they might want to write to the office of the CEO to explain what happened, how the CS agent with supervisor support fixed it stating the amount of time and stress experienced by the OP. I think some good will OBC is in order when customers have to spend hours dealing with their horrible IT systems which they have ignored for years.
  11. I think they generally go up on the sailing after the Thanksgiving sailing. It generally takes several days as they appear to do most of it in the overnight hours.
  12. Turkey offered in the buffet carving station is always better than what they serve in the dining room. On Summit last week and had Turkey with Mashed Potatoes Stuffing and gravy with cranberry sauce. I don't remember seeing the green bean casserole. Gravy was next to the potatoes!
  13. Full chain of command is Butler -> Retreat Manager -> Guest Relations Director -> Hotel Director. I assume the Retreat Host (stateroom attendant) still reports to the Assistant Chief Housekeeper but I would take any issue there to the Retreat Manager and up that chain as well as the Retreat Manager is really responsible for your in-suite experience.
  14. I believe they always have a selection of Veuve Clicquot. The used to have special dinners with pairing to various Veuve Clicquot Champagnes.
  15. Thanks. I thought I would try that once I hear back from the TA. Not happy with Delta. I asked for some compensation as these flights have been booked for 7 months and told them I would be incurring a significant hotel charge for the delay. Of course they said tough.
  16. Not all flights by Celebrity are refundable fares. If you have a non-refundable fare and you cancel after final payment you would have the $200 pp FBC fee and you would probably just have airline credit generally good for 1 year after ticketing. Generally FBC doesn't ticket until payment so you should have most of a year to use. Make sure to check this on the flight summary. If the flight isn't tagged with "Risk Free" that's also an indicator.
  17. We have a post cruise hotel night in Tahiti after our cruise in Jan/Feb. Yesterday I found that Delta/Air France have cancelled our flight to LAX and I have had to rebook a day later. Has anyone had experience extending the hotel stay? I've made final payment already and have been told our hotel is the Intercontinental. I can book a room independently but wouldn't know what category to book to be able to extend our stay in the same room. I called Windstar yesterday but they said there can't be any deviations but since I use a TA they really wouldn't discuss. I reached out to my TA to see what he can do via Windstar. I'm just wondering if others have had experience and roughly what the per day cost is for that hotel via Windstar.
  18. I got an email a few months ago with the point total on it. I was relatively close to the next level. I guess I will have to call to see new total after last sailing. Does anyone know how long it takes for credits to be applied. Slot play if that makes a difference
  19. But if they redeploy the ship the prices will probably drop to try to fill the cancelled berths.
  20. I don't think you would have any trouble getting it in Luminae for breakfast. If they have the ingredients they will make it for you. Might give them a heads up the night before if you are planning on ordering it in the morning.
  21. Does anyone know how to find out your current point status? DW asked in the casino and it seemed there was only one person there who could look it up.
  22. That might be the one thing consistent across Celebrity😀
  23. Rules say no but there have been some reports here of success. With ships sailing full now if you are lucky enough to win a moveup most likely all cabins in the upper categories will be assigned. I guess the advice would be to check for open cabins, then call and ask politely and don't be surprised if the answer is no.
