  1. Non alcoholic beverages are unlimited and do not count against the 15 alcoholic beverage limit.
  2. ""It's time to order, upgrade medallion accessory"----- " I think your question is about this phrase. Your medallion comes with a lanyard. You can order other ways to carry the medallion. Each has an extra cost. I just keep mine in my pocket. These accessories are also available on board. If purchased on board they are charged to your on board account and net against any OBC. I have read that air tags also work, but have never tried them.
  3. What are casual dining meals? These depend on the ship. They are 3 course meals. Some good some just OK. Alfredo's is probably the best, but not on all ships. Most only open in the evening, but some are open for lunch. How much is a typical drink - like a rum and coke In the $10 to $12 range without high top shelf spirits. How much is wifi per day. Both of us would need it. $24.99/pp/day. If the person is platinum or elite loyalty level then the cost is $`12.50/pp/day. There are some 4 device plans. How much is crew appreciation per day $16/pp/day, $17/pp/day if you are in a mini suite, $18/pp/day if you are in a full suite. For me it takes around three alcoholic beverages per day to break even.
  4. Either will work, but it's probably easiest just to call room service and mention what you want.
  5. The are no assigned or selected boarding times. I searched all 4 Discovery September sailings. You indicate you are sailing on a late September cruise. If it is the 21st then the ship will be cleared of disembarking passengers by around 9:30/10:00am. Boarding should begin around 11am. If you are sailing on the 28th, that is a different story. In that case the ship arrives in Vancouver at 9:45am. Boarding will probably begin around 1:00pm or so. The ship sails in the late evening. In all cases you arrive according to your own preference up to 90 minutes before the scheduled sailing. The earlier you arrive the chances to encounter more crowds increase. If you have your medallion you are green lane and go directly to the boarding area after clearing security. If you don not have your medallion you are blue lane and have to make a short detour to pick up the medallion.
  6. Boarding in F.L. normally begins around 11am and maybe 15/20 minutes earlier. This past winter as a b2b'er I was cleared through immigration and back on the ship around 10:15am. We are the final ones to clear the ship. Maybe 30 minutes later newly arriving passengers began to board. 1pm is boiler plate information. Princess has been using this time forever. Only exceptions are for certain inspections. If these happen you are normally notified in advance.
  7. Cutting it very close. It's 90 days before departure. I would not wait until 11:59pm. I'm thinking pacific time.
  8. Can you book as two one way flights? Don't know, just a thought.
  9. For what it is worth I enjoy having a few slices of pizza or a burger on deck with an adult beverage. That's my go to. MDR isn't for everyone.
  10. The ship arrives at 7am. By 9:30/10:00am disembarking passengers will be cleared off the ship. Boarding should begin around 11am. The DR will be open for lunch from noon to 1:30. I don't know where you are seeing a boarding time. But, there are no longer assigned boarding times. If you have your medallion you will be in the green lane when you arrive. Without the medallion you have to make a brief 5 minute detour to pick it up at the pier. In your case you will be able to board anytime from around 11:00am until the evening. Your ship is scheduled to sail at 10:00pm. If you select to arrive early you will most likely encounter additional crowds. Most likely your cabin will not be available until around 1:00pm. If you miss the DR lunch there are the Horizon Ct. buffet, Slices Pizza, and the grill all on the Lido deck as well as the International Cafe on deck 5.
  11. Specialty coffees as well as all other non alcoholic beverages are now unlimited with the plus and premier fares. The stand alone beverages packages also includes them, but the cost makes little sense.
  12. "So if we decide to go to the specialty restaurants included in the Plus package" To be clear, the plus package includes 2 casual dining meals, not specialty restaurant meals. Casual restaurants vary by ship. Some ships have better selections than others.
  13. I have not done this Princess excursion. I would suggest that you compare it to Silver Moon Barbados Catamaran excursions.
  14. "This is an urban myth. ANY toilet paper is acceptable for use in a ship's vacuum toilet system. What the cruise lines supply is merely the cheapest they can buy." My understanding is that marine toilet paper has more air than other toilet papers. However, it is doubtful that passengers travel with their own toilet paper. We are speaking about things like facial tissue, large amounts of toilet paper at one time, things like that.
  15. Many toilet plumbing issues are caused by the passengers themselves and are not related to the actual condition of the system. While on board the Ruby this past winter my cabin along with the entire section, I was told 40 cabins, where my cabin was located suffered days of non or slow working plumbing issues. The plumber was always working on it. As explained to me someone flushed some object(s) into the system and plugged it. It took days to clear it. Nothing but marine grade toilet paper should be flushed into the ship's system.
  16. Any time from about 9:30/10:00am until latest 90 minutes before sailing. Arrive around 9:30/10am you will encounter more crowds. If you wait crowds will start to thin. Lunch will be served in the DR from noon until 1:30. From NJ assume you are driving. I would not cut it too close, allow for traffic. I guess you already know that. I lived in NJ for a very long time.
  17. I have sailed one way Quebec to Brooklyn. Great cruise. It's not a grab a lounge and sit around the pool cruise. Pools are not over crowded. Kids usually handle colder weather. Do you swim outdoors in NY in October? Same on the ship. This is a very nice itinerary which you sail mainly for the ports and being on board.
  18. It goes into a fleet wide account. The funds are distributed to those you see, cabin stewards, and those you never see. Only corporate accounting and high ranking managers know how the funds are distributed. Just like your pay.
  19. San Juan in my opinion is a nice port , at least equal probably better. I would not cancel. A cruise vacation is just that, a cruise.
  20. 9' x 9' with 5' of cover, 4' uncovered.
  21. I'm fairly certain that the ship's scheduled arrival is 7am. I had previously looked this up on the Princess web site. Disembarking passengers should be all off in the normal time frame, between 9:30 and 10am. New passengers should also begin boarding in the normal manner, which begins between 10:30 and 11am. The DR as well as all other food venues should be open for lunch as normal. For the DR that is noon to 1:30. Dinner will also be at the normal times. I imagine there will be some sort of deck event for the sail away at 10pm.
  22. current cost is $12.50/day for elite with the 50% discount. Plus package is currently $60/pp/day with first two in a cabin required to purchase
  23. When I boarded this past February in F.L. I only had to show my passport. Once through security I just took a 5 min detour to pick up my medallion. I carried a copy of my travel summary as back up, but never used it.
  24. The service charge goes into a fleet wide pool account and is distributed to those you see and many you never see. Same with the daily gratuity.
