  1. Expect it will be the same as other Royal Class ships. Section on deck above the Lido pool just forward, and the starboard side aft patio on deck 7. These are the only areas. No full decks. No smoking in any cabins nor on balconies.
  2. All pools are open at no charge to all guests, except that the Terrace & Lotus spa pools are adults only. No shade at the Terrace Pool. Lotus Spa pool has limited seating, some may be shaded by the walls of the ship.
  3. A few weeks ago in Ft Lauderdale everyone bunched together to go through security. That's the slow step. Once through green lane went in one direction, blue had to detour for a few minutes to pick up the medallion. Once actual boarding began it went so quickly that it really didn't matter if you were in a priority group or not.
  4. Items from the grill are almost immediately available. If you plan to walk to the grill to pick up, just walk there and get them. No need to use the app. If you order a burger or something it will be delivered to you no matter where you are.
  5. Laundry is wash, dry, iron. Cleaning is a sort of dry cleaning, but not with chemicals. Something like the sheets you can use at home, but I don't know exactly what is used on board.
  6. I research and then choose a cabin for b2b's. I want to remain in the same cabin for the entire time on board which could be 2, 3, 4 voyages. I have my cabin marked no upgrade.
  7. Sushi and other casual dining. Not all ships have sushi as a casual dining option. Here is a flyer that shows available dining and the ships. https://www.princess.com/content/dam/princess/corporate/pdfs/restaurants-dining-venues-on-board.pdf.coredownload.inline.pdf Here is the flyer that I forgot to add to my previous posting https://www.princess.com/en-us/cruise-deals-promotions/plus-premier-cruise-packages You can use the Ocean Now App if you like. When ordering drinks for the the two of you make certain you use the two different apps where each one is connected to each person's account. That way you will not get lopsided use of the 15 allowable drinks. You can also order from a waiter or directly at the bar. It's your choice. To be clear regarding a previous post Princess does not use facial recognition software. It's just a photo.
  8. You have to positively state to have your booking marked "No Upgrade." I always have my T.A. arrange for this. I don't know how you do it if you booked on line. Do you want all your accounts linked or your dining linked? You link accounts by providing the same credit card number for all individuals. You link dining in the Dine My Way app.
  9. You just fill out the laundry slip and place items into the bag(s). It doesn't matter what items are in what bags. There is no limit on number of items, number of bags each time or in total for the cruise. Allow up to 72 hours for items to be returned.
  10. The medallion itself is just a small quarter sized disc that has a code to recognize you. While on board you carry the medallion and use it to unlock your cabin door, purchase things, locate those you allow to locate. In that respect it's not much different than the cruise card. The information which you supply pre-cruise to Princess isn't much different than what it was in the past. How you supply it is very different. Some of the old standards, such as traditional dining are now gone replaced by dine my way where you select your dining times. Beverages and other. If you purchase the plus or premier fare then you will receive the benefits of those fares. These benefits are loaded into your on board account they are not on the medallion. There are 3 major components to these fares, beverage package, crew appreciation and wifi, and a few other important components such as casual dining and the waiver of Ocean Now fee. You can see them in the referenced web site below. You asked about the beverage package. The beverage package includes unlimited non alcoholic beverages such as specialty coffees, special juices, sodas and so on. It also includes up to 15 alcoholic beverages per day. I think what you are thinking about is going to the bar with two different medallions. Then you ask for two drinks one for each medallion and the bar tender places them on one. You just have to be clear when you order so the on board accounts don't get mixed up. If there is an issue visit passenger services. Photo. There is no security photo on the medallion. There is a security photo in your file. There have been some issues with the photos, but all correctable. When entering information you do not have to use the app. There is an on line web version. If you wish to have a cruise card once on board visit passenger services. The issues are not medallion issues. The issues are with a poorly written Princess app and new programing.
  11. I did two Princess voyages around S.A. One Atlantic to the Pacific, the other Pacific to the Atlantic. Both cruises were at the end of the season when the ship continued north to Ft. Lauderdale/San Pedro. Weather was good on both cruises. December through March is summer, but be prepared for colder weather at the southern end of S.A. I remember wearing a number of layers on deck when sailing around Cape Horn. If you have the time these repositioning cruises are really nice.
  12. You do not have have a balcony cabin. You have an outside view cabin with a window. Which ship are you booked on? Go to the Princess web site. Select onboard our ships, deck plans, and then your ship. Search the deck plans for a category OC cabin and you will see which cabins fit this category. Outside view cabins are mostly on the lower decks. There may be a few outside view cabins on the upper decks in certain locations.
  13. I can tell you that the Majestic was built for the Asian market. It is a Royal Class ship with some different offerings and design. It has an indoor pool, The Hollywood Pool Club and an enclosed forward looking lounge, The Hollywood Conservatory. I have been to Reykjavik by cruise ship. There are lots of very interesting things to do many of them have to do with the volcanic activity such as the Blue Lagoon. Halifax is a great port. The ship docks at the end of a roughly mile long waterfront promenade, easy to walk. There are also trips to many locations such as Peggy's Cove.
  14. Botticelli DR is on deck 6 aft. To access this DR you have to walk aft on deck 7 or above and take the aft elevators or stairs down to the DR. It is the largest of the DRs, and the furthest away from the mid ship lounges. To exit the DR you have to go up at least one flight. Da Vinci DR is on deck 6 mid ship. Approximately 1/3 of the space is used for reserve class dining. Michelangelo DR, deck 5 mid ship, is the same size as Da Vinci but the entire DR is used for regular dining.
  15. Caribe deck balconies on the Emerald Princess are 9ft x 9ft with 5ft of cover and 4ft uncovered. As others mentioned the interiors are the same size and configured the same as all other balcony category cabins BF up to B1.
  16. You can book Princess tours now. Except for Tahiti these islands are small with not a lot of population an infrastructure. I would imagine that tours will fill fairly quickly. My guess for the Hawaii ports is that the tour costs and contracts for the 2024/2025 winter season are not complete. Keep watching.
  17. Each adult is permitted to carry on 1 x 750ml bottle of wine at embarkation for use in the cabin. If this bottle is brought to a public area like a DR it is subject to the $20 corkage fee. Fortified wines are not permitted. Additional bottles may be carried on board and are subject to a $20/bottle corkage fee on boarding. These bottles will be marked and can be used anywhere on the ship. Regarding ports. The rule is any alcoholic beverage carried on at ports will be held and delivered to your cabin on the last evening of the cruise. In actual practice this rule is not consistently enforced. You can't really know in advance if the bottles will be or will not be flagged by security.
  18. Unless things have changed recently cruises booked on board receive the same $100 deposit* and OBC as if they were booked later off ship with a purchased FCD. I don't believe there is any requirement to purchase an actual FCD when booking on board. FCDs when purchase are valid for cruises booked within one year of purchase. Most deposits are refundable according to the schedule in the passenger contract. Some promotions have non refundable deposits. You really have to read the fine print carefully. If purchasing on board you should actually read the fine print and not just take the seller's word for it. If you normally use a T.A. you can assign the onboard booking to that T.A. My personal preference is to purchase as many FCDs as required on board and then take my time researching and booking once home. *World cruise deposits are a percentage of the fare.
  19. Casual Dining is the Salty Dog Gastropub in the Wheelhouse Bar. The Salty Dog Grill is walk up next to the Lido Pool and is no charge except for the Ernesto burger which has a charge. https://www.princess.com/content/dam/princess/onboard-experience/pdfs/Salty-Dog-Menu.pdf.coredownload.inline.pdf https://images.r.cruisecritic.com/pdfs/salty-dog-grill-menu.pdf
  20. " is this 2 casual meals per person" yes it is per person, but currently only two options on the Crown.
  21. Tips are included, generally would not provide a tip as I do not carry cash around with me on board. If I provided a tip it would be cash. Anything added electronically would wind up in the crew appreciation pool and not to the person delivering.
  22. EZ Air is a consolidator. No AA list yet. My guess is that flights booked through consolidators will not earn miles. But, who knows what kind of deals these companies will make with the individual airlines.
  23. Forward elevators to deck 18. See deck plans.
  24. Regarding post #11. The $15 is US$ and would probably be the equivalent in AUS$ on your cruise. The fee is for Ocean Now service and is only charged to those with the standard fare. It is included at no additional charge for those with the plus or premier fares. Ocean Now allows you to order beverages and food items for delivery to your location anywhere on the ship including your cabin. The Crown Princess does not have Alfredo's. Pizza by the slice is available for no charge at Slice by the Lido Pool. Casual Dining on the Crown is limited to The Salty Dog Gastropub in the Wheelhouse Bar (not to be confused with the Salty Dog Grill on the Lido deck) and Vines Wine Bar.
