  1. The original shows on Solstice were amazing. Then came the cutbacks in the Theater on the subsequent ships. I found the entertainment was outstanding on the Royal Caribbean ships. More energy on the ship as well.
  2. Those items are on the Classic everyday menu and are available in Blu. I ordered them a couple of times in Blu on the Beyond. However, I was not able to order any entrees from the MDRs.
  3. Some cruisers may be confused. The views from Blu on the Beyond include looking at a outside deck. Nothing in comparison to the views on S-class. Also, there was no fresh shrimp in Blu. Maybe freshly thawed. That being said, we enjoy the service and food preparation in Blu. Some nights, we end up ordering from the everyday menu or head to a specialty restaurant if there is not anything to our liking that evening. Luminae is dark and louder in my opinion.
  4. Use your OBC but pay close attention when you come to the payment page. There has been a stated cancellation fee but that usually is enforced on no shows.
  5. There are no assigned times even though yours says 6 pm. The restaurants usually open at 5:30 pm. People will start lining up at 5:10 pm. Don't be surprised to see a line. The dining areas are rather busy with high volume of voices. The advice of 2 tables of 6 makes sense although there are long banquet style tables for parties of 12. Talk to the head staff of the restaurant you are interested in dining.
  6. Is this the show originally shown in 2014?
  7. I had paid for our Specialty Restaurants using OBC and had a good sum remaining. Then I got an email saying if I did not pay the balance for one of the Specialty Restaurants, it would be cancelled. I looked and had confirmations. Guess what? My reservation for one of the restaurants was cancelled. Had to call and it took a long time to resolve the issue. No one could figure out why I received that cancellation notice.
  8. It has been Anytime dining and you can go to any dining room at whatever time moves you.
  9. I received an email about a month ago indicating an increase in port charges on a cruise to the Bahamas. The dollar amount was stated. It was to be paid at the final payment. Last night, we received a new invoice.
  10. Only edible? I thought you would have said 'delicious'. When I have "lobster" on Celebrity, I need to soak it in a pool of butter. Then it tastes fine.
  11. My dentist has popcorn on her list of foods seniors should not eat... Be nice to your teeth....
  12. I thought I would not like the IV but decided to give it a chance. We really liked it. It made the room seem bigger and by lowering the window, I was able to take great photos. Also, I did not have the problem of neighbors on either side looking over the balcony into our cabin. More privacy. Give it a chance.
  13. There are many cruisers who do not consider other lines and continue to defend the Celebrity product. We have those cruisers who continue to book the high end rooms exclusively. I imagine these are high margin profits for the line. One issue is that these cruisers are reluctant to try other lines because they have perceived or real 'status' on Celebrity. This Summer, we did a family vacation by renting a home on an island. It was very relaxing and the cost-even including dining out- was significantly less than going on a cruise. We had "free laundry" 😀 available to us and did not have to hear the marketing announcements by a captain. We eat real lobster and fresh seafood. Glad we made that choice.
  14. 12 ounce cans and bottles of beer. No, you don't drink hand sanitizer.
  15. The desserts on the ships look better than they taste. Taste nothing like the items at bakeries near us.
  16. There is no longer the big brunch in the MDR. On the last sea day, there is a special lunch at the OceanView. On our cruises, it had been advertised. We were allowed to take photos of the fruit carvings, cakes and ice sculpture at a certain time. Then they opened it up to the hungry folks.
  17. We received a paper copy in our room called "In the Spotlight. Meet the Officers". Each officer was listed with a photo and a brief biography. This was on Beyond.
  18. The tuna fish salad in the OceanView was better than the Dover sole.
  19. Nothing beats home grown tomatoes. I have burpless cucumbers as well. Dice them up and add some balsamic dressing and I am good. I thought the tomatoes on our cruise on Beyond were very good. It does not bother me that they were cut and not whole. Excellent salad bar.
  20. People bring their own bottled water. Will whole tomatoes be next?
  21. I was apprehensive after reading reviews of the infinite balcony. But we liked the infinite balcony. It made the room seem bigger and offered a nice seating area. Some individuals just have issues with change.
  22. There are additional costs that may be imposed by your airline. No costs on Southwest but other airlines may impose a fee.
  23. The cabin numbers are not consistent from ship to ship. As for the Beyond, your assessment appears to be right on. You may want to consider bringing on some ear plugs if you are a light sleeper and cannot get a change of location.
  24. On the Beyond, the prices on the Apple MacBooks were identical to those in the Apple Store. They had the latest version as well as the previous version. Both were available as there were 3 of each on the shelf. . There were no gift card promotion. You would save on sales tax.
