  1. Good for you. I had been asked to see if the balance due had been corrected on the reservation but no luck. The agent insisted that there was no balance due but not only does it say it on the reservation but also I got another email asking for the same amount late yesterday. Maddening..... How long did you wait for an agent and what were the last 2 digits of the number you had called? Thanks.
  2. I got the same assurance from Celebrity but they have to send a ticket to the IT department. Been 2 weeks and 2 calls and nothing posted to the account.
  3. I decided to check out the cost of adding insurance to my reservation. Did not purchase. The next morning, the cost of the cruise went up to suggested list price and all discounts disappeared. It took over 90 minutes and at least I got my reservation back. But the OBC has not returned despite 2 phone calls. Going on 2 weeks. Then I did make final payment and received a statement with a Zero balance. Two days later, I got an email calling for payment due for the amount of OBC that was owed to me. Go figure. Celebrity says I don't owe money but I still get emails asking for balance due. Frustrating!
  4. I heard they were serving Vitages but only to the Zeniths there. Status has its advantages. That part of NC has weather similar to France. The initial problem they had at Biltmore was that the initial grape vines were table grapes not suitable for wines. Then they made the correction. Heard that on our tour.
  5. Don't be surprised if you cannot get the days and times of your choice. Occasionally it happens, but that is usually rare on a first year ship. We usually pay the different and book the days and times that we desire.
  6. We were told that Equinox has had the same production shows since its launching. No wonder it was not crowded...
  7. Agreed. If you arrive early and want a particular waiter or table, it is usually honored. When we arrive, they know where we ate the night before and will be asked if we want to dine there. The restaurants are Anytime Dining and you come when you want to eat.
  8. We were on Beyond and we told that reservations were not being honored. It was Anytime for everyone. Of course, if you get there early and have a particular table or waiter, you are usually accommodated. I had made reservations at all 4 and you just walked up and got seated except for one night. That night, there was no production show and we walked up with 3 of the singers/dancers to Normandie and all of us were told to come back in 30 minutes and we could be seated. So we went to another restaurant to dine.
  9. You can buy day passes. I would take the free tour of the facilities when you board. Then you would be able to decide for yourself. There is quite a difference between the saunas and the atmospheres between classes of ships.
  10. On the Beyond this year, we were told that there were no reservations for the 4 MDRs. You just showed up when you wanted to even though you believed you had a reservation. By the way, people started to line up 20 minutes early before the restaurants opened.
  11. We thought Eden was excellent. Wish we could say that about the Fine Cut Steakhouse as the uncharge was not worth it. Not the best cuts of steak and our experience was like yours. We were disappointed. The shows in the Main Theater were outstanding. Cannot beat the special effects. Glad you had a nice cruise.
  12. The Beyond did not honor reservations. Just show up when you want to dine and you will be seated. This was true for all 4 MDRs
  13. The lobster you get at Eden is true North Atlantic lobster. The dish is called Nova Scotia Lobster Casserole. It is excellent and no comparison to the item they serve in the MDR. The crab cake was the best I ever had. As for changing your time, it will be difficult if you want an early time. After the first night, there was a wait list. So take your chances as soon as you board.
  14. Think of it this way. Your OBC is savings in your account. The daily gratuities are deducted from this amount. When you run out of savings, it is charged to your credit card on file.
  15. Years ago before Covid, there was an option in FLL to remain on the ship but you had to be off the ship by 3 pm and your drink package was not able to be utilized. I think it was available for only a year or two.
  16. We were fortunate as we had no noise issues. However, we spoke with several cruisers who had difficulties sleeping due to the creaking. We came prepared with ear plugs but did not need them. As mentioned, do your homework on past room reviews.
  17. Yes. Very similar. I am sure many appreciated the performance. But after the excellent shows in the Main Theater, this was a let down.
  18. I think the issue is the increase in price. I paid $50 before the gratuity and now it is listed as $85. A 70% increase. Now that is much more than inflation.
  19. The entertainment was outside of the restaurant by the bar. It took place later in the evening around 8:30 or later depending on the evening. During the meal, there was either a soloist or duo playing music above the restaurant. As for the later entertainment, it was like a play. Reminded me of something you would see at a high school or college performance. In all fairness, the troupes were changing that week and the performance seemed not polished.
  20. Not so sure about that. On the Beyond this Spring, the entertainment was "unique" and definitely not as a previous poster had described. Similar to avant guards. Not my cup of tea.
  21. Maybe the new president of operations, Laura, should try calling the advertised number and get the true Celebrity experience.
  22. How much does it take to have a system like other companies I deal with that have an announcement on the main reservation line that says "Rather than staying on the line, we can call you back..." Not with Celebrity.
  23. I did that on a Sunday night and guess what happened? My OBC disappeared and the price of the cruise went up $3500. All discounts were removed.. I was told it was a computer glitch on their end. I called on the following Monday and someone picked up immediately. It took almost 2 hours on the phone to restore the reservation. The OBC issue was resolved yesterday after nearly 2 weeks. Frustrating experience... There has been no way to leave a call back number. Each time it says "Your phone call will be answered in 4 minutes". Once you get that recording, it is usually 60-90 minutes. Sad...
  24. I would purchase the above option. You could do it one device at a time. We upgraded just one of the Basic Plans to Premium and that worked for us. You could also upgrade the second device separately if you chose to do so. As for the pricing difference, that is a quirk of Celebrity's marketing.
