  1. Yes, there is live music by the pool but not the House Band or Orchestra. Usually, at 1 pm, the DJ played tunes most days. On around that time, there were dance classes, games, jazz quartet, guitarist or an acoustical duo, Entertainment was very good.
  2. Hope you like DJ music by the pool. Expect live music around dinner time in the Grand Foyer near Guest Relations on Deck 3.
  3. Bring a 12 pack aboard to your room and you will have the real thing...
  4. The Theater is just spectacular with the special effects. If offered, take a guided tour of the Theater. Food is excellent and really enjoyed Eden Specialty Restaurant. We booked before the price increase and it was worth it. Now, I am not so sure if I would pay the new amount. Some concerns dealt with creaking in some rooms and the lack of experience of some staff. I knew it was the first time for our stateroom attendant -- but inexperienced and overwhelmed. Same was true for some restaurant servers. I felt bad with the extent of their responsibilities, especially being new. Will get better in time...
  5. On our 7 day upcoming cruise, the daily cost for Premium service is discounted at $25.99. Original prices was $32.99. I think it is rather pricey for the quality.
  6. Now those are the beers many of us grew up with in college. After the first, they all taste the same to me anyhow, especially with salty snacks.
  7. When ordering drinks. dining is a specialty restaurant or purchasing items in the gift shops, you have to produce your card and give it to a staff member.
  8. I have been on both. The Beyond is an amazing ship. There are 4 main dining rooms to choose from. The theater is spectacular. The drawback for some is the absence of traditional balconies. Reflection is a very good ship but it tended to feel more crowded. Food was very good on the Reflection. A good choice as well. We have done the shorter cruises. As mentioned, the shorter ones tend to be a young crowded with more drinking. Not the traditional Celebrity crowd. Also, 7 days go by rather quickly.
  9. Lesson learned and time to move on. ☹️
  10. There are 2 screens of payment data. One screen is viewed by the agent and the other is what you see. Unfortunately, they are have not been the same in my case. Check your emails and MyReservation. Hope all turns out well.
  11. Something similar happened to me when I just checked out the cost of Celebrity insurance on my reservation. Now, after 6 weeks, I still get regular emails asking for money even though the cruise has been paid for. Asking for money on My Reservation as well. Very frustrating.
  12. We had booked directly with Celebrity and we were able to keep our AI (tips) when we changed dates. The incentive to booking on board was kept as well--- but the cruise price changed and the current Celebrity OBC booking incentive as part of the sale changed.
  13. What is a Kindle? Is that a relative of the Commodore 64?😃
  14. The downside is that the room does not get another thorough cleaning. It gets a 'refresher' and bed turndown. I do like the bathroom countertops cleaned, new drinking glasses, and the floors vacuumed twice a day. That may not be important for some.
  15. The savings are appreciable and is a consideration. I am not sure if I would classify the current CocoCay as offering a relaxed day at the beach. I found the former CocoCay as offering a relaxing environment. For the $$$, it would be worth a try.
  16. Also, keeping an eye on alcohol consumption can also help solve the problem! 🍺🍹
  17. On our cruise on Beyond, the following were open for lunch on the port days: Oceanview Cafe SpaCafe Mast Grill Le Grand Bistro Eden Cafe Raw on 5
  18. Yes, the device could be used as don't most people use the same passcode that I use? 1-2-3-4. Calls could be to a pizza delivery service 🍕, Amazon 🚘, etc.
  19. I share your concern. We have been on a couple of cruises with large parties. On one, the group reserved all time slots for all of the Specialty Restaurants on one evening. A couple of excursions were exclusively for this group as well.
  20. I have ordered the chateaubriand for one. No problem and it is a portion for one.
  21. We boarded early on our Alaksa trip. It was chaos. Your would have thought people had not eaten in days. Manners out the window. It was very busy in the Oceanview. We decided to eat elsewhere and enjoyed a relaxing lunch.
  22. We have not been allowed to order from the MDR menu on all of our S and E class cruises. However, this may be related as how busy they are. You can order the Everyday menu items which will be listed on your Blu menu.
  23. We were fortunate to have a room on Beyond that was very quiet. However, that was not the case with many I spoke with. I estimated that 8 out of 10 couples I spoke to had issues with the noise. Most were on the Starboard side.
  24. On he Beyond, generic water was $3 a bottle plus 20%.
  25. Solstice was really tired looking. We had a worn carpet and the lower frame around the closet was missing. We had been on this ship the inaugural year but now maintenance is needed. The cruise was really good and we enjoyed ourselves. Food was very good, especially when fresh seafood was brought onboard in Juneau I believe. Take a look at the itineraries for ships that go to Glacier Bay.
