There are sometimes cruises available last minute at very low prices. If an inside cabin is $499 for a 10 day cruise, that would be the same price as the standby. And, you could pick your cabin and be guaranteed to sail.
Unbelievable. The HAL website still has it listed as a Southern Caribbean sailing. But, a travel agency has it listed as an Eastern itinerary. Wouldn't you think that the cruise line would want to have accurate information on their website?
Oops. Just realized that Rotterdam is the only ship in port that day. Still, you should probably be okay. There is almost always room on the top deck of the parking garage.
There are many times that 5 or 6 ships are in port at the same time. I wouldn't think this would be any different and you should probably be able to park. And, as you say, those same ships will be disembarking passengers so their spots will be available.
Since it is in the penalty phase, you are not entitled to anything. However, sometimes they will work with you. But, you have to go through your travel agent.
Are you parking at the port in Fort Lauderdale or a parking lot outside? I understand what Roy is saying about getting through security without an actual ship departure from Port Everglades.
I don't think cancellation of Club Orange is allowed unless you cancel the cruise. I also don't think CO had anything to do with the paid upgrade. It would have been offered at the same price regardless. I agree with the strategy of trying to get a Neptune Suite upgrade. At that point your CO fee would be refunded. Keep checking. You never know when one will become available. Good luck.
I know you do the facial recognition but you don't have to fill out forms or answer questions or go through the customs booths. So, no need for Global Entry.
