  1. And more for some hotels in Miami and Ft Lauderdale, depending on the class of hotel...and then, for us, it's in Canadian $$s!! Oh well...part of the vacation package IMO. 🌞
  2. These are rather definite comments, but I can't speak for everyone. Not ALL those who are/were dissatisfied are shifting; they still find the product worth the $$s. The one cabin area I have an exception to is the cost of suites. Sailing in these I don't find the exaggerated pricing worthwhile. They have their reasons I suppose, but I, for one, won't pay the price. Inflation is a concern everywhere and across the cruise lines. Reading other boards and exploring options, I'm finding much the same tone and complaint and support as we read here on X board.
  3. OT...BUT.....In this age of AI and chatbots....sometimes I think I'm reading an artificial response. Clues seem to be that one's style of writing has become much clearer and grammatically correct whereby, in the past, it was sort of difficult to process the point being made by the poster. So...I'll take some of what I now read on CC as possibly a computer telling me what they want me to believe...that X is less than it was...or...that X is much better than competitors. Kind of expensive to 'find out for myself' whether the particular cruise is up to snuff, but will be the only way for me to assess changes up or down.
  4. Problem solver and efficiency expert....to the max. DH was very involved in process.
  5. The only difference in dining experience would be Aqua and Suites with their designated dining rooms. All other cabin classes from inside to concierge 'enjoy' the main dining room. I should also add, the dining experience doesn't differ 'greatly' IMO, having dined in all rooms. The menu is different, but in Luminae, on occasion, I've requested the MDR menu and Blu if possible.
  6. Maybe a group sing-a-long would work much better! Or one an hour...LOL. I do have to add, when they sang to us it was a choral group sing and some part of it in their particular language. Very enjoyable.
  7. Anniversaries and Birthdays celebrated at sea are meaningful and it seems all diners in the room enjoy the serving staff singing at the 'honourees' table. Although we've mentioned our b'day and anniversary in each booking made over many years, the experience has skipped over us; that is, until the suite life...then a lovely effort was made to decorate the cabin with balloons and petals on our bed. A card with flowers, chocolate strawberries, and champagne appeared signed by 'the cabin staff'. I asked who sent this, response was "It's from us...". This was very nice, however it was our son who had paid for the Anniversary package! I never had the heart to tell him the staff took the credit. I think any special marking of your personal event is dependent on the TA or X rep making the reference on your booking.
  8. OBC is immediate, but refresh your screen. Visa payment refund will take 'a while'.
  9. When I re-booked an excursion, I did a mock booking first to make sure there was 1. a reduction and 2. availability. That was definitely less costly. However, when checking on dining, pricing had gone up from my original cost.
  10. Just wondering....this wouldn't be considered 'snarky'? as discussed on another thread....😉.
  11. Do it right away before X wonderful system changes the pricing. Open your cruise, go to your top right Initials, access order history, cancel the item(s), then go into the dining or excursion area of PMCruise and reorder. You'll get an instant confirmation of cancelling and re-ordering and refund to either Visa or OBC, whichever you used. In my case it was a combination of both.
  12. In addition to above......Just cancelled all 3 Specialty dining reservations (some OBC, others $$s), then booked the 3 night package...saved $125.66 Cdn. Well worth picking our times onboard which might not be the original choices.
  13. Yes...cancel, then rebook. The 'system' automatically notes you have a reservation on that date and time.
  14. Thanks OP for posting. I was able to change an excursion, saving $65 Cdn. Couldn't access dining options....each specialty restaurant says "sold out, Currently unavailable, but we’re working on it." Been like that for over a week. Anyone else have access?
  15. Do you know where the Eclipse would be in Nov. '24? Sounds like it's changing ports?
  16. Or maybe I should have queried the various cruise critic know-it-alls. 👎
  17. Agree...but....perhaps some of those 'cancelled' cabins are TA's releasing their unsold and on hold cabins. JMO.
  18. Was the higher cost cabin kept? Perhaps with volunteers cancelling, the non-cancelled cabin had the complication removed?
  19. Considering one poster said there were 2+ bookings for their cabin, does anyone know how the decision was made re who kept the cabin? First booked, most paid, short straw selection? I'd hate to think it was arbitrary with no logic behind the choice.
  20. Why just the Infinity? Is it itinerary or cabin cost? As other posters have mentioned, other somewhat older Celebrity ships are in good shape. If you get everything you're looking for in a cruise from NCL, it's best to not change if Celebrity is an upcharge for your wants and you won't enjoy your vacation.
  21. In the long ago past X oversold our fully paid cruise, sent us notification via a TA that we could still sail, but cancel if we chose, and if we did, we received fully paid cruise fare refunded and 6 wk in the future cruise free. DH and I agreed that was a no brainer. That was our first X cruise and their offer cemented our loyalty. I realize they could not do that with so many ships/passenger cabins oversold. But a little 'extra' to sweeten the taste of being cancelled is IMO the way to treat the customer. I wonder if X insurance would cover some or all of the 'sweetness'?
  22. Your next week sailing was oversold....? and your Oct. 12, '23 was also oversold? I thought the problem was isolated to Japan cruises....not? I'm starting to wonder if Nov. '23 cruise will be affected.
  23. I understand your 'closeness'.......being too close is wonderful for the dog...but the owner suffers when the pet passes....went through it with a beautiful little bichon; can't bring myself to have another.
