  1. Hi John, Thank you for 5 star rating of my assistance. Sounds like FritzG has experience btw Princess and Cunard to where they feel comfortable to stay. Williamsburg/Greenpoint is up and coming and not like the old days. So hope you are sailing soon. We have to wait till 2025 in March for the next time boarding the Queen. Will miss in 2024. 416 days to go......
  2. My wife also liked the Shower Door too. We had the PG two times ago and we know what you mean about the tub.
  3. FritzG, You are entirely welcome. Pls, Pls, Pls enjoy yourselves. If you don't mind, when is your sailing taking place? Interestingly you prefer to stay in Greenpoint and not closer to the terminal. If you need any other info, feel free to ask me or others on board. May the wind be at your back......................
  4. Hello FritzG, We sailed on the QM2 in 2017 and occupied Cabin 13002, 4 cabins away from you intended cabin. We found it very nice as it was just added in the 2016 Refit the previous year. Of course it looks newer than any of the other Brit Club cabins on Deck 12. Added was newer looking bathroom cabinets, Shower has actually a Shower Door with the others have curtains. Not sure the view. We of course were almost right in front the Left Side Bridge Wing. We saw all the operations on the Bridge which was interesting. The new observation walkway is above the cabins but never bothered us in the cabin. Of course the Dining Room for the Brit Club is at the far end of the ship by Elevator/Stairway D and 11 deck downs on Deck 2, can be a hike. Of course will help walking off meals. You do get as you should be aware an assigned the same table for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Dinner is from 630 to 9PM. This was one of the attraction for us. We have sailed about 6 times there except for one which we were upgraded to Princess. In the Dining Room you will also be presented an additional A La Carte menu besides the usual menu. We found it to be an interest to switch off from the other menu. Actually pretty much. And of course you be treated to quite a number of Flambe's desserts. We did once have a Flambe entree courtesy of the Dining Room Captain. So it's up to choice if you book.
  5. When the terminal is located in an industrial area, Sunday can a quite day.
  6. We enjoy the Greenhouse in St Tom and Martin with the same menus. Learn of it from the crew members we know on board. Great Local food like Conch.....
  7. Mr Tablecloth is always on my wifes shopping list and to do list at St Thomas.
  8. Hi Kathy, The sailing we were on with you last September we got several freebies from Cunard and had no dates on our slips we received in the room on arrival. The Lunch we made reservations for on the My Cunard on board could be used anytime on board the sailing. When we arrived at the restaurant the Maitre D' we knew from the previous let us keep the card and we used it for another freebies lunch on Cunard. We also got a card on board for the freebies Champagne High Tea which was held several times during the trip. We only used it once. But don't think you will have a problem. Ed
  9. We always tip at the end of the sailing for those tasks that were above and exceptional in nature. And we do also leave a short note thanking them for their service in the same envelope with the tip. Normally we give it at the last dinner night seating. When we dine the following morning before leaving the ship, they express their appreciation for the gratitude and note.
  10. MONTHS TO GO TODAY! Even though we are expecting 1-3 inches tonight
  11. Totally Unacceptable! Inappropriate in Public View and Location.
  12. Kathy, I know what you mean as we also watch the photos being done around the ship but especially at the Grand Lobby on the QM2. The last trip after we were with you, we had a friend (solo) with us as a first timer on the Mary 2. We were passing the GL after dinner and photos were being taken on the staircase. Of course the women coached me to taking a photo. The photographer (a wonderful lady) posed us several times and what a wonderful job she did making us comfortable. And we were pleasantly happy to select one of the photos to purchase. And having it in the bedroom, so happy to view each time I see it. The point I am making is, she also made our guest also very welcomed and worked with her and she too purchased a photo to remember the trip and experience. I know that there are other photographers that I am now and in the past not impressed with their talent of posing and also making the subject comfortable. BTW.... I love Prosecco....
  13. To Each Their Own Opinion...... IMHO.......After sailing on many, many voyages over the decades, I appreciate the work and efforts to make us comfortable during our trips doing those tasks that are not noted as usual actions of their job. It's up to each passenger to determine what is usual and exceptional during their trip. So I really am not initially attracted to pre paying tips to the information and am focus to the contents of the trip and trip's ports of call.
  14. Sure! A extra charge to their batteries...
  15. WOW, those were two items introduced to me in my childhood. Now in NYC you can't afford those dishes so expensive. Back then they were cheap to buy. We always like to try new dishes that we wouldn't think of cooking at home.
  16. But you may wish to recognize those exceptions of good service....
  17. We all were First Timers once in the past, my experience was 53 years ago. And my DW was 42 years ago. We enjoy each and every Sailing meeting "Newbies" on board or on a Roll Call to exchange ideas, suggestions and comments. We are so blessed to have built relationships online and zoom to this day even with Crew Members. Each sailing also sometimes turns into an adventures.
  18. We enjoy participating in the Dress Code and Theme which is also the Main Attraction to booking on Cunard. Escaping the Everyday tasks at home, we look forward to the atmosphere we enjoy participating with all those others on board to during the After 6. We very much enjoy the Gala theme evening even those when not named.. Gives you the opportunity to name the evening yourself and dress as you wish. During our sailing in 2025 we only up to now have two but hoping for more being added. As mentioned in the past, it gives us that James Bondish feeling strolling thru the hallways or sitting in the Casino.
  19. On sailings we have had Gratuities added as part if the booking. But we are grateful to those that have gone above and beyond some services and show appreciation to them. Of course this is done at the end of the sailing, normally the evening before departure.
  20. Our personal experience at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal was only different last July. Being Diamond does have it advantage and perks to boarding earlier like last September in 22 We just arrival a little earlier at the terminal and go with the flow. The normal advance time boarding is about 20 minutes. Maybe we are lucky.
  21. Only time I saw passengers not really happy is when they did maintenance to the boats when docked or anchored. Very noisy when they drop and raise them. But passengers book them.
  22. We have never had a Deck 8 Lifeboat Cabin during our stays on board in the past. We prefer other decks we have selected in the past and always seem to prefer repeating. We did once heading to the Library look inside a Deck 8 Cabin and seem that looking towards the Balcony there is a lesser space than a basic Britannia Cabin. Once we had a PG and very much appreciated the space and upgrade deck furniture.
