We just got home from our Vision cruise out of Barcelona. 4 days before our cruise was to end, I started coughing (only sign of Covid experienced by my friend and my daughter). I was convinced I had Covid and it emotionally drained me on those last days. We did the Royal recommended tests the day before disembarking and I was negative. When we got to the airport, American Airlines didn’t even want to see our tests. They said “it wasn’t listed on their requirements”.

I’m currently on Vision in the Med and first seating is at 6pm. Last month on Harmony, it was at 5pm. The cruise before was at 5:15. Guess you don’t really know the time until you board.

I was in Ephesus yesterday on a ship’s tour and we stopped at the carpet and jewelry place. An hour of nothing but high pressure salesmanship. They did give us a glass of wine (or beer, oozo, or coke) and a snack to enjoy (?) during their presentation.

Thanks for this post. I’m currently on day 6 of a 12 night Vision Mediterranean cruise and forgot I had wine in my fridge with one more bottle still to drink. Just poured myself a glass before dinner.

If your luggage weighs 50.7lbs, you’ll have to pay an overage fee when flying to Europe. If you’re referring to a Caribbean where you drive to the port, it’s not what the OP is asking.

Hey Sue! Have a great time. The last time I was on Allure was over New Years and had a great time. Allure is my favorite Oasis class ship. Hopefully Amy and I will sail with you again some time in the future.

I’ve organized several slot pulls in the past and it’s a lot of work. I’ve always used my card and never had anyone complain. Had they wanted to use their card during their pulls, that would have been fine.

My husband had his 2nd booster today and when I uploaded the picture of his card and entered the information, it wouldn’t take the date of today as the date of his last vaccination, saying it has to be more than 2 weeks from sailing. (We sail on the 20th). I just changed the date to the 2nd vaccination before the boosters. We’ll see if they accept it. We’ve always showed our paper copies and have to do it again this time.

We use Walgreens before every cruise and it’s been great. Results come back in an hour. We’re using them to confirm we’re not infected next week before we fly to Barcelona. We have to do it again in Barcelona before we sail.

I’m addicted to Curacao Cosmos. It’s like a regular Cosmo but it tastes so much better.

They do not. I sail from Barcelona soon and found this out a week ago so I’m trying to figure out what I’m going to do. Last year, they did test you which is why I assumed they would again this year. Stupid me…..they were sailing at under 50% last year and now they’re again close to 100% so they don’t need to help us anymore.

When I sailed on Anthem last September from Southampton, Royal offered free Covid testing to use to get home to the US. I would have thought they’d do the same this year. But now that they’re sailing closer to 100% capacity, guess they don’t think they have to. I’m sailing on Vision in a couple of weeks and am bringing the Royal test kits but as a back up, I’m making a reservation at the Barcelona airport.

Does anyone have a list of the gift list?

I haven’t been able to find this anywhere on their website. I thought they would provide the test because they did last year.

This really makes me angry. Nothing in any of the information they shared with us indicated they changed the process from 2021 (when they tested us) to 2022. Sounds like an email to Michael Bailey is next.

We’re from the US and are sailing on Vision from Barcelona in a few weeks. I just read that Royal is no longer offering Covid tests on board meaning we have to find some place when we disembark to get a test on our own. Does anyone know if this is true? We fly home the same day. Last year, they offered the tests the day before we disembarked in Southampton.

We fly into Barcelona in a few weeks and haven’t booked any car services. Is it ok to just take a taxi from the airport to the hotel and then to and from the pier or do we need to book a car service?
